Pochettino sacked by Spurs

The timing is terrible for us now that Ole has us on a run of good results, albeit against teams that came on a suicide mission looking to attack - despite being inferior across the pitch. It would be really harsh to sack him now, even though I desperately want to see Poch here.

Pochettino had taken Spurs as far as he could go and Spurs have taken Pochettino as far as they can go. Right move for all.

If i am in charge of United, i would sack Ole this night and hire Poch.
But unfortunately that won't happen. We have a project that takes a minimum of 3 years to implement and youths galore. Rashy, Jesse, Tony and all the other boys. We will hit bumps on the road. It was never going be easy and Rome was not built in a day. Why should we sack Ole? The boys are all happy and giving their all in training. All is well with us! Please don't ever wish for that.

Was thinking the same. Almost identical to when Klopp became available.

I'm weirdly both surprised and unsurprised at the same time.

Will rightly walk into a top job off the back of the excellent work he has done at Spurs, despite how the last few months have gone.

Because he’s a far better manager.

Because up until the beginning of the season he was regarded as the best manager in the world we can actually appoint. Pep and Klopp will never sign for this club.

I would trust Poch to do a much better job than Ole will ever do for this club. He goes for the right type of players in the market and his style of football is more how United fans want us to play.

I can’t believe there are people who want Ole over Poch. Are you seriously deluded? A run of two wins against Premier League minnows means we are on turn, seriously? What happens when we invariably lose to Sheffield United at the weekend?

Poch just got Spurs to a Champions League final without spending any money in the year. They are on a bad run. When a manager has achieved what has done with Spurs that should buy him time in situations like they are in.
His record of almost winning things is indeed unsurpassed, but managers don't get sacked when their side is finally showing clear signs of coming together. We've won 5 out of our last 6 games and have been decent to good for about a month so, like it or not, we won't be hiring Poch.

He did then say he might have left if Spurs had won, which was very odd.

The very expensive summer signings haven’t exactly hit the ground running.

Hope Spurs don’t poach Ole.
I'd be happy if we could get midgetland to Poach Ole. It would mean he's doing something right for us to make him desirable to anyone outside of United fans

Honestly thought he would be able to ride out this storm but, Levy wasn't interested I guess. Oh well, Tottenham can go back to being Tottenham again.

would be interesting if he goes to bayern. Would be a great place to win some trophies since they could easily snag some of the domestic trophies there. Pretty good shot at a domestic title as well.

Jose favourite but I can't see him going to a club not being able to spend much money.

What is Poch's style of football?
High press, attacking football, using a 4-3-3 formation. Wanting to control the game rather than counter like we currently do.

I can’t be bothered to explain much more to some of you. You’re just being loyal for loyal sake to any manager that takes charge of United. We have been crap all season, two wins in a row against poor opposition does not change that fact.

This storm has been brewing for a while. Their CL run papered over a poor ending to last season but their form hasn’t improved since then.

He did a great job there regardless of the trophy count. The fact is before he went there Spurs were a club who were never challenging for trophies unless they had a one off cup run.

It’s actually very unusual for a manager to have success at a single club for any longer than 4-5 years. Klopp, Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti all have a great 2-4 years then move on. It should be no surprise things have gone stale at Spurs now, especially with the lack of backing from Levy in the last 2 years.

It is highly likely that Poch may want a break from the game till the end of this season atleast. So perhaps all this mid-season Ole sack talk (for Poch that is) should slow down.

They're 14th in fairness and have been gash in the league since January.
We've been gash for a similar period of time though and are only 2 points better off though

Are you talking about the same Pochettino?

Jeses Christ I just asked you a question, no need for that flurry of words. Being loyal doesn't have anything with it btw.. Also you don't know that much about your favorite manager it seems.

Indeed

Poch needs a break before he takes any new job on

He did a great job at spurs, a future example that in modern football no matter how good the manager is or how well they do, things are almost guaranteed to sour. Wouldn't hold his final few months massively against him

What manager would take Pocc's place now...it's a poison chalice for sure. The Levy factor is such a negative

Wow thought he'd be safe for a little longer, especially as he didn't get the sack right at the start of this international period. That would have at least left them more time to get someone in before thr weekend. Seems unlikely now unless they have someone lined up.

Wonder what's next for him? Bayern job is open, but perhaps he wouldn't want to walk into a new job immediately. Maybe had no interest in Germany. The links to United will inevitably start which will ramp up pressure on Ole even if it is just media/fan talk. I feel like the same happened to Van Gaal when everyone knew Mourinho was available and likely interested.

As for Spurs where do they go next? Will they want a proven name like Mourinho or Allegri? Maybe those would be not in the right style that they would want. If they wanted a pragmatic manager, it may be a smart move to tempt Benitez back from China.

Will they go the more unproven route for someone like Howe? He certainly matches more how they want to play. And certainly probably more affordable.

Won 5 of our last 6 games .

We beat European minnows Partizan Belgrade twice, Norwich (bottom of the league), Brighton at home and Chelsea in the League cup.

Talk about manipulating statistics.

This can't be true. The Caf has repeatedly told me he isn't the issue. It's the club/owner/players/financial restrictions/fans/Finnish Ice Eggs.

Dunno... I could see him going there ... I don't see a huge amount of options for Jose elsewhere
If he goes there and does well he's the special one again
If he doesn't do well he will chuck levy under the bus and have a fall out over spending (but still get a big pay off )

Surely they have someone lined up? Otherwise why wait until the latter half of an international break to do it?

Reckon Mourinho will see it as a low pressure job, but he'll hate working with Levy.

Don't even bother trying to reason, I've pointed this out in other threads so many times. There's genuinely people on here saying he's worse than Ole

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Pochettino's philosophy.
