Any updates on the injury? Cant seem to find any apart from the vague official statement that were given out for Shaw and Martial as well. Look how that turned out.

We need him in the game against Sheffield. One of our most important players now, proper engine.

He won't be risked even if he is back in time you'd have to expect.

No news tends to be bad news with our injuries.
I think you are right. I think he will be more missed than anyone else in the team right now. But it better he rests than playing through injury.

Read a few tidbits which seem to originate from The Sun as the source suggesting his injury isn’t serious and he could be in the squad on Sunday.

Positive if true.

Pretty much fecked if he's injured. We definitely need a midfielder in January. That said, we have four first team midfielders. Out of those, three are injured.

Solid transformation. Wasn't he an attacking mid for our youth squad?

Fast becoming one of my new favourite players in the current team. He is one of the key players in midfield, or at least the type/profile that United need to compliments the guile and skilful players like Martial and Rashford. He is not peak-Fletcher engine wise yet but he covers most of the key skillset for a CM fairly well at the moment. More of a jack of all trades, master of none.

Having said that, the squad needs better quality, as cover and to challenge on all fronts especially UCL again.

So no updates on his injury yet? So vital we have him back for our December run-in.

Surprised that Andreas is so high considering he isn’t a guaranteed starter.

Scotland missed him badly in the qualifiers.
Not surprised at all by Andreas. When he has the ball, his decision making may not be the best. But without the ball he works his socks off, pressing all the time.
From a tactical point of view, he is very important.

He’s put on a lot of muscle over the past 12 months or so. He doesn’t look as gangly as when he first broke into the team. Hopefully he isn't out for too long.

Might not be for fit this weekend according to the official website.

Would be a huge loss, even if it is for one game.

Concerning that his Dad is having to drive him to training, sadly I think he will be out for a few more weeks.

Mourinho mentioned him in his first Spurs press conference when talking about bringing through youth. Said he was 'lucky to have Scott McTominay as a kid'. Then went on to say the same for Varane and Balotelli.

I think those posters who said McTominay was just used as motivation for Pogba by Mourinho deserve to be demoted to newbies.

Hate it when people said he shouldn't be starting for a club like us. He should be 3rd, 4th choice, yadda yadda.

Absolutely triggered me. The kid has done well, he deserves to be 1st choice.

Don't get triggered. For many, grass is just greener on the other side. So many names been thrown around last few years to bring in that have been shown to not have the required quality. This kid keeps going from strength to strength. Popping up with goals, being a leader on the pitch and gives it his all. His passing still needs a little work but, he has shown progress with it and he is also very good with carrying the ball forward. Things that he didn't do much of when he first was getting into the side. Should be no reason why he can't continue that progress and even if he doesn't, he is better than most others in the same position right now.

Doesn't have the fancy big name, so he is just not good enough for some.

I agree Scott has shown that he is a solid player and is one of the first names on the team sheet this season, but I also think there's logic to him being a rotational player if we sign midfielders with more quality. Put it this way, I'd rather have McTominay to fall back on than the likes of Matic. That goes also for some of our other starters who might be good enough on their day, but if we were to upgrade on them and keep them as squad/rotational players (while getting rid of our current awful bench options) it would really give us good depth and make the team so much stronger.

I mean, he wouldn't start for Liverpool or City, or even Chelsea. If we ever want to be among the best clubs in the world, he should only be a squad option. Workrate and passion is good and all, but is he really United quality? Based on evidence so far, I would say no.
