Wouldn't blame him, this is the last comment on his Caf profile:

Hi Glaston. I have been viewing this forum for many years without joining. I just wanted to say I think you are a terrible poster who gets a lot of fair criticism. Chin down mate

I think the only way to get a result is if we sack Ole. Then it would be a fairer battle of manager bounces.
Would have beaten Spurs under Poch in Old Trafford. FFS even Brighton beat them 3-0 a few weeks ago.

I'm confused why it's happening now at the end of the break.

Failed to turn around a ban run of form which is hard to justify when the team is one you've built over 5 years. Different story if the players aren't yours or you're new at the job.
From the outside looking in, that assessment of yours is fair, but why the bad run? I'd think after reaching the final in Europe last year, they'd be buzzing to go one better... As you say these are his players, achieving the high of their career so far with him, so it surprises me he wasn't able to arrest their poor form.

Timing is very strange

However at least now we have a serious candidate to take over next season

Potentially new owners and Pochettino in next season sounds very exciting.

The poor form started a long time ago in the league. Way before the final.
It's almost as if the mentality was one of finally made it after getting top four consistently, without actually realising that they hadn't really achieved anything.

He’s the man many fans have wanted. He’s the man the club would have gone for if they hadn’t acted too soon over Ole.

Best to let the opportunity pass us by, really.

Jose and Levy. What could go wrong.
Not really that much of a shock. 11 months of dire league form, dressing room seems lost and no sense it was about to turn around. A host of players wanting out on frees in the summer.
He did well and is a good manager but it was heading the wrong way.
Poch at United. For a rebuild? Yes. To win silverware after a rebuild? No.
Either we go straight in and get now before the January window, or leave..
And Ole is going to to win heaps of silverware, is he?

I wonder could we pay him to just sit around and do nothing while we see how things work out with Ole.

Jose and Levy is a doomed partnership right from the outset.

Pochettino likely has the Bayern job in the bag.
I don’t know. It looks like a good fit from the outside, but I have a hard time believing that we‘ll sign someone who doesn’t speak any German. And it’s not like he has enough time to learn it. I still think our main target is ten Hag. Might be wishful thinking, though. I just really want ten Hag.

Yeah, you'd have thought it would have been announced before the weekend.
My thought exactly. Why not do this at the start of the window, get a new manager in during the first week, then let him train with the players during the second?

It happens, no one would of thought for one second that Klopp would have had the final year he did at Dortmund.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
I wonder which ex player Spurs will bring in - since that's the logical thing to do in such situations...

Or perhaps Spurs will be looking to the Norwegian League for their next manager...?

Both obviously sensible approaches.

Just speculating but i imagine either Spurs or Poch had something lined up which was pressing them to be decisive. They supposedly held "crisis" talks right before the announcement.

Madness, unless he basically forced his way out. Spurs best coach ever, best result in Europe, fired before Christmas?!

Just a few months ago when United were linked to Poch, Levy wouldn’t let him go for under £50m.

It’s funny how things change quickly in football.

Mourinho to Spurs, it’s on the cards.

Enjoy the ride, it won’t last long but it’ll be interesting.

We should move heaven and earth to bring him in as DoF. So he can prepare. Then take over from Ole in the summer

Expected really. Thought they might have give him until they qualify for the CL knockouts at least just to see them through.. but I expected them to get beat at West Ham this weekend with both teams badly needing a win and the fact Spurs are atrocious away from home all year anyway let alone this season.

You can bet Levy was reluctant to pay him off and was sick of waiting on United seeing Ole picking up results whilst Poch was prolonging their suffering. He knew no one was going to make a first move so it had to be him. Probably explains why it's so late in the break sacking him. Levy will be banking on the new manager bounce running up to xmas now.
