Two on the bounce. Ole, Ole, Ole Ole Ole

- After Sterling got by AWB early on I was thinking it's going to be a long game for him. He settled and did a great job. I wonder why Pep didn't think to move Sterling to the right?

- Another performance like that and I will be an official Fred Fan.

- It's so nice to ruin any hope for a City title. I've always admired Pep with what he did with Barca and others but the shine is coming off. When a team plays dirty, plays like they think they deserve every call their way, and plays like they think they deserve to win because they walk on the pitch, well, that attitude comes from the manager and it's not a pretty sight. In all the years SAF won I don't ever remember our club with that sort of attitude.

I think it's time we delete the threads about firing Ole. He deserves to manage at least to next December which will give him two more windows.

So why would you not give Ole to the end of the season in the first place? We beat Chelsea 4-0 to begin with, and we were very unlucky against palace and wolves, two good teams. I mean he’s beaten Leicester and tied with Liverpool. And now beaten pep and mou.

You’re just another spoiled fan who can’t see the value of what Ole’s accomplished. Got rid of all the deadwood changed the transfer policy.. could go on.

We should have patience with this young team.
100% agree and have been saying it for ages, I wasnt happy with not replacing lukaku but when the season started I could see it was the right thing to do, getting rid of fellaini, lukaku and sanchez was great business. Ole has shipped out 7 players and brought only 3 in. Fair play to him for showing the patience to plan for the long term. He deserves huge credit for that and for trying to get the foundations right. The squad is paper thin in terms of quality first 11 but I trust him to get it right. Firmly Ole in from me.

In the first half we were ruthless on the counter and electric going forward, should have another couple of goals. Second half we were penned in and to me that was down to the back 4 lacking composure and passing quality on the ball, we weren't getting the ball out unless Fred or McTominay came very deep to get it but that pulled City onto us.

It's a great 3 points but I'm not getting carried away, we are still a very reactionary side, we can't hurt teams without space, our record against the bigger teams has not been the big problem in recent times, it's been against teams that pack in, as evidenced just a week ago against Villa.

You can check my post, I have always stated to give Ole until January or end of season unless Pochettino is available. My stance has not changed. I don’t believe Pochettino is ready to jump straight right in, so Ole has until the end of the season to prove he is the right man for the job. We need to find the right man for this job and Pochettino is it, if Ole doesn’t meet the requirements I set for him.

Villa and Sheffield were brain farts that should not have happened. So no, it's not normal. Next time, we will win all those games.
Who said normal? I said it makes sense.

Even if it’s “brain farts that shouldn’t happen” there’s a lot of easier games we aren’t winning and harder games we’re getting results and looking much better in, tactically too and a big part of that is what I said, what our players do well, good teams set up in a way that permits that. Teams that sit deep neutralise that more

It kind of does. Our players are better at a style of play that requires space to run into. You get that more against better teams. Rashford and James are great counter attacking players but you can box them out. When that happens your midfield has to step up and we don’t have the players for that. However our midfielders CAN help facilitate quick transitions from defence to attack to a greater extent
Yeah I agree actually - but it's still insane. No one gave us a prayer before the last two games.

Great result, nerve racking as all hell watching us defend for an hour. It's still frustrating to see us beat the likes of City and Spurs and drop points to Villa and Bournemouth. That should not happe .

That was great!
Fred was everywhere and covered brilliantly early on when Bernardo Silva was making life difficult for Luke Shaw.
I can't help but think that if McTominay had been able to play against Sheff Utd. and Villa we would have won comfortably like we did against Norwich. The midfield had started to gel.
Depth is required for us to achieve consistency and hopefully in January we can add a midfielder and centre forward.

Well you say that but I bet on United to win and Both Teams to score in both matches. This team always seems to raise their game when up against it.

The key will be adding the players to the squad who can unlock the sides who sit back and instilling in the existing players that killer instinct against the weaker teams.

Buzzing isnt the word for it.

Had a feeling all day we would win although before the Spurs game I was expecting 0 points from 6 so getting the two wins is incredible.

AWB was so good it was almost funny everytime he blocked yet another attack.

No idea how City didnt get a penalty from the Fred handball but couldnt care less.

Plenty to be said elsewhere about their "fans", but that stupid bluemoon song before kick off might be the cringest effing thing in football. At least the fans sing along when Liverpool do it.

Avoided the score and only just watched the game. fecking brilliant.

If the team can keep these players fit and this intensity up things will start to look quite promising.

Amongst everything else I have to say it gave me great pleasure to see that sour faced old Tory Noel Gallagher in the crowd looking miserable during the one fixture a season he seems to go to.

fecking have that.

No complaints today. We're pretty susceptible to the counter attack this season and United are happy to play against teams who leave spaces in the midfield, so the result is hardly a surprise. It wasn't inevitable exactly but it was always possible, and it quickly became very likely once you got your noses in front. Much like Wolves last season, you're set up perfectly to beat teams who like to have the majority of possession but struggle whenever teams invite you onto them and ask you to create something from scratch.

The fact that you have an identifiable trait means you're in a better place under Ole than you were under Mourinho, though. Under him you had no identity, no single tactic you were well-drilled at that you could rely on to get results against the odds, and that was after three years. I think Solskjaer's one of the weakest managers in the league and there's no chance he'll get you back in the top four any time soon, but at least you know you can pick up points in big games and create a few good memories together.

As for the absolute twats in our end who were hurling objects and racist abuse at Fred and Rashford, I hope the club and the FA find them all, ban them all, and send them on educational courses. They're disgusting pricks who deserve everything they've got coming to them. As I've seen said on Twitter in the aftermath, it says a lot about the mindset and intelligence of these people that they think they can get away with doing monkey gestures on live TV in the biggest game of the weekend. Hope they're embarrassed and ashamed for the rest of their lives.

Magnificent. What a performance, what a result. Brilliant all round, Rashford too. Fred looked superb. McTominay had his best game yet, he really is the real deal. Still not convinced by Ole at the wheel, but we’ll done all.

Downside: handed the title to the Scousers.

They were gonna win the league anyway - the only difference today made was that they might win it a week earlier - so you might as well win a derby while they're running away with it.

No more dislikeable side that City. I can't abide them. Great win today. All concerned deserve great credit. Good follow up to Spurs match. Keep it up.

Was watching with my best mate who’s a life long City fan and I just couldn’t believe the first 30 minutes. 2-0 and should have been 4, playing them off the park.

I feared the worst and said to my mate if City turn up this could be a 4-0 hammering before kick off.

What a great couple of results the past few days, brilliant to see!!

Just hope some of the less enthusiastic on here cop on a bit and remember this next time we inevitably as a young developing team have a dodgy result, and show a bit of proper support & patience for whats going on at the club right now.

The great moment of the day for me was Ole and Sir Alex waving at each other. My eyes welled up and I had to go outside for a smoke. Don't know but I think I'm turning soft in my later years. Overall just a fantastic day for the club. UTD UTD!

So what exactly is your requirement? Given the position we were in after a big name manager like Mourinho. Having the youngest team in PL, winning against top sides doesn’t excite you? I remember when mou scraped those boring 1-0 wins when we got second place, and all I could remember on here were people moaning of how boring we played. With Ole it has been step forward and two back a few times, but we’ve had key injuries and a lot of managers would had struggled.
Important thing is the passion is back and there’s almost always entertaining games!

Exactly. The Lukaku ship out was crucial! I was so happy when we sold Lukaku.
