Some absolutely brilliant lines this season (especially Dinesh with his dick measuring one, followed up by the Chilean's  and Gilfoyle), but does have an end of times thing going for it. Hope they go absolutely bat shit crazy for the last few because at this point its all looking quite sane.

There's only 2 left :(

Which is why it's weird that that episode was basically filler. There's just been no coherent, continuous plot this season, just Gavin constantly trying to feck Richard up and failing, basically. And they haven't really known what to do with Gilfoyle, Dinesh and Monica who are basically just side characters at this point.

It's still immensely entertaining but they're definitely ending it at the right time.

That's what I don't get either, it's like the writers doesn't know that the series is ending. I was expecting a much bigger build up to some grand finale with the breakthrough of Pipernet and the aftermath of that but instead it's just the same old type problems that appear and then get solved within an episode or two, none of which moves the story along.

Yep agreed. Their office hijink storylines are terrible.

Didn't realize it ended in a couple of episodes, very strange dynamic leading up to a finale. Maybe the last 2 episodes will make me change my mind but it doesn't feel like that for sure.

Still watching but this series is so much about missed potential. Don't think they have done any relevant tech industry related storyline since the third season. They just tried to be clever with all the plot twists all the time when just taking a company like Pied Piper through all stages of early start up reaching unicorn and then decacorn would have given them ample opportunities to pan silicon valley. Last 2 seasons especially have been terrible. Just don't get the point of introducing the HR lady in final season and involving her in so many side arcs. She should have been a character much early on when they got their first proper office.

Bitchard was the only real laugh I got out of that one. There was also a full season's worth of plot in it. Definitely ending the show at the right time.

I enjoyed that episode, when the hologram just kept getting bigger was hilarious

Russfest could have been an entire season.

Meh.. I get that they have based the entire show around the guys making progress and then ending up right back where they began with some sort of moral victory along the way so I guess no one should be surprised that the grand finale was exactly that, but this 'one step forward, two steps back' concept was overplayed about 3 seasons ago.

Yes. Just that this time there was a finality to the stunt. Am just surprised they didn’t venture into PP turning uber successful and then being torn down. Instead chose to recycle a lot of the same struggle over and over again. Overall I liked the finale but they could have ended the show using this 2-3 seasons ago itself

Finale was ok, nothing exceptional, the last season itself was repetitive anyway (could be said about the previous one too). Overall good show that was excellent at times, but didn't quite achieve greatness over its full running length.

I really enjoyed the finale, thought it was a fitting end, but my problem is, as others have said, that the last 2 or 3 seasons were a bit of a waste of time. They could have done so much more than they did with this show. This season especially has basically been the same old Richard vs Gavin shit we saw back in season one.

Man, the finale was really a downer. Six seasons of watching them build it, going through all the struggles just to kill it in seconds.
So sad that the series ended the way it did. I really liked the characters, especially Gilfoyle, Dinesh and Jared and I'm gonna miss them. Yes it got a bit repetitive towards the end, but I'll miss watching those guys.

I think it was the logical ending that they would ruin it within days of their success. Richard was always prone to self sabotage and there's no way he could maintain the success that a properly operating Pied Piper would bring. It comes down to this; Richard Hendricks is one of life's perennial losers, no matter what he tries to do or how positive his intentions are, he always manages to feck it up. On the other end of the scale you have Gavin Belson who is one of life's winners; even when his tech company crumbles he manages to make his fortune on romance novels. The ultimate slap in the face then being that Richard is teaching Gavin's code of tethics; a non-committal plagiarized version of the kind of stuff Richard actually believed in.

I don't know if it was executed as well as it could have been but I enjoyed it anyway.

I’ve been watching this again and loving it, but I’d largely forgotten the final season. It was mostly decent and had some great moments (everything with Jared and Russ) but feck me I forgot how bad the ending was.

Why not just let them succeed ffs?

I’m on the final season too and not sure whether I’ll even bother with the final episode. No idea why people loved it so much. It pissed me off seeing them fail for six seasons only to finally succeed and then have something so dumb ruin it all. Not every show needs a happy ending but this one teased them eventually making it for so long and then they never did.

I remember mentioning a the time that the formula was stale. Every single episode went Something Looks Bad > Great Idea To Fix It > Everything Looking Good > Rug Swept From Under.

Rinse. Repeat.

It's almost as if the writers always felt they needed to end the episode with a 'funny' and the first place they always went to was 'the main thing failing'.

Yeah, my biggest problem was that they never actually made them a properly big, successful company. There was so much opportunity missed there to have them try dance around being another Hooli (Google) and rip the piss out of Facebook etc. By season 4 or 5 it really pissed me off that they were still in Erlich's house. We were constantly told it was a potentially billion dollar company and then it never even got that far, irritating.

Still a great show that made me laugh a lot, though.
