I prefer Rashford. But £45 million would be a fair price if it was true he had a release clause. I doubt it is, when was the last time a British player had a release clause at a premier league team?

Not totally convinced he's as good as people are saying. Yes he impresses in some games but doing it consistently at a top club. I'm not sure. There's a bit of Jonjo Shelvey about him, if you know what I mean.
Know exactly what you mean, Grealish to me plays the game at one particular gear he's not too good but not too bad even when he's influencing a game. He would be a circumspect signing. I'd prefer Maddison because I think he's of a higher calibre.

He has an xa90 of 0,17 from open play. Maddison is on 0,12 from open play.
Are these good stats? They seem rather low. What do the likes of KDB and Pogba average?

Can see him leaving at the end of the season but not mid and Villa can easily get back to mid-table.

I think I've been so badly stung by our transfers in recent times that I automatically doubt anyone we are linked to nowadays. I was a big advocate of Maguire - I knew he was overpriced but even the things I thought were a certain with him, have yet to properly materialise. I was expecting natural leadership and a semblance of passing ability but we've seen neither apart from glimpses. I don't like using the term 'cursed' but we can't do anything right in transfer terms. James should have always been a bench option and after a bright start, now looks just that (a good one, though). AWB is fine, I guess.

Grealish for me, I just get that overhyped Englishman vibe off him. It might be irrational, I don't know.

He did sign his extension when they were in the Championship (I tihnk) so I can see Villa giving him really favourable terms.

I'd expect that would be in the form of a gentlemans agreement rather than a buyout clause

He's improved every season too. He hasn't struggled in terms of the step up to the PL, I think he would be a good signing for whoever gets him. I don't think he will ever reach the elite level of the game so whether he's worth a punt depends on the price and other options I guess. The main reason I am against the signing is that the majority of his best work comes from the inside left channel, we are already massively unbalanced in terms of right and left at the minute. Rashford, Martial and James are all better on the left, with James now sacrificing himself on the right hand side. Pogba as well likes to play down the left so adding another player there will just complicate things.

Man of the match playing centrally tonight.

Even though his stats in terms of goals and assists are better when playing from the left, I personally prefer seeing him play in the middle. I think he could make the transition into becoming a very good central midfielder (even though he already played as a CM last year).

This is why we should get him over Maddison if we have to pick one.

Maddison comes in and blocks our rotation of players - Griealish can play LM, CM, CAM meaning that the likes of Pogba don't get effected much by someone needing one exact spot in our formation.

Get the guy.

Has to be in the next England squad surely?
Far better than both Mount and Hudson Odoi
Think he's a bigger talent than Maddison as well

Mount and Maddison both deserve to be in there.

Don't get the automatic inclusion of CHO in each squad though. He's done very little so far compared to those mentioned and still coming back from serious injury aswell.

tbf to Mount he was excellent against Spurs at the weekend, there's not a lot between all 3. Maddison is probably the best of the 3 right now but I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Grealish

It’s Twitter, full of hype and nonsense. I think there’s a bit of a debate on which of the two should be playing for England so that’s probably why Maddison is mentioned.
You could probably fit both into the team. Southgate wants as much pace as possible in wide areas though so probably not in the current set up though.

To think he'd be a spurs player now, except levy wouldn't go higher than 25m in a summer where they literally ended up buying no one.

imagine him in the team instead of Lingard!
At 45m, he seems like a no-brainer for you. Young but not that young, English and plays in the exact position you are the weakest in. Even looks like a good tactical fit as well.

Should be the first bid in on Jan 1st really.

What do you reckon was posch' idea for him back then?
We need bodies and Grealish at 25m is our only hope for any sort of talented player that would fit our squad.
Look at who they signed since, it was like a starving man going apeshit in McDonalds

They're light in defence with Mings injured. We should offer them two of Rojo, Jones and Bailly for Jack.

Is 45 his release clause? Seems the kind of midfielder we need. Not sure how good his passing is though. Seems to be more of a dribbler.

In a world where Fred cost £50m two seasons ago, there's no chance that Grealish is going to cost less than £60. He's the poster boy for Villa, and he's proven in the PL. Probably closer to £80m.

I see him as the player that Ross Barkley was supposed to become.

I think his passing is his best quality. As a 'controller', he's probably better than Maddison, imo.

Under a tree.
He gives me Schweinsteiger vibes, obviously not to the same quality, but as winger/AM that will be better suited as a box to box CM
