I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this? Apologies if there is but couldn't find one. Cracking Old Firm derby playing out at the moment. Rangers doing a number on Celtic after they conceded a Smalling-like penalty which was saved. They then went up the other end and scored.

It's all going off. Feisty game.

I was just searching for a thread too, excellent game.

Celtic miss their penalty and Rangers pop one in to take the lead. end to end stuff

Now a goal for Celtic that would not stand if the SPL had VAR.

Or if any of the 3 officials had spotted the fairly clear handball in the first instance. Ref and lino are in perfect line with it.

theres a Celtic and Rangers specific thread.

Celtic absolutely dire first half, though rangers haven’t been anything special. I think either team could go on and win 4-1 here, next goal is massive

It was a definite dive. I don’t know why you’d dive in the 5th minute of injury time when the ball wouldn’t have got down the other end anyway. Idiot.

Did I really see Morelos do a throat slitting gesture at least twice after being sent off?

Cant understand why he didnt just shoot instead of diving.

You did indeed.

The time wasting after the card was hilarious though, takes the tape off his socks and then starts unwrapping the bandage from his cast.

I don't like this season's Celtic. No cohesion in play, outplayed in the last 2 Old Firms ( The Betfred Cup final and today) by Rangers. Lennon has to change something. Or the title would go to Stevie Me's band.

Hate watching the OTT pashun from anyone related to Liverpool. Hopefully Stevie has his hopes and dreams crushed once again.

A wonderful day yesterday. There is nothing like putting that shower of shite in their box in their own shithole.

Congrats on winning a match at Celtic for the first time in nearly 10 years. Quite the achievement.

Someone needs to give Gerrard a PL job quick. He’s done a great job this season, and learned from the earlier old firm this season at Ibrox that Celtic can’t deal with a press. If they stop 10 in a row, the treble treble won’t be worth anything in bragging rights.

it is absolutely brilliant to see such a close race though, the league needs it

The league needs a massive shake up. Having Celtic dominate as they have is just ridiculous.
They need to figure out how to get the other clubs up to standard as even though the old rangers went into liquidation no other club stepped up to challenge. Its 35 years since a any other club other than Celtic and Rangers won it. Madness how there in still any interest outside the old firm.
Whats the point.
The New Rangers seem to have it going well. So its back to them or Celtic now winning all the time. I suppose 2 teams in the mix are better than one.

I've been thinking about the concept of having two mini leagues halfway through the season after everyone has played each other twice.

The top 6 could have a 10 match home-and-away league for the title and the bottom half could have a ten match league to avoid relegation.

That way, even if the Old Firm keep winning, at least it would stay interesting for the other teams until the last two weekends given the margins involved. Over 10 matches, Aberdeen, Hibernian et al. would be a serious chance to topple the Old Firm.

Avoiding relegation would provide an absorbing context for the bottom six league as well.

You'd have 10 high pressure matches for every club, instead of half of them blandly meandering through another season.

And you'd still get the four Old Firm clashes they're so keen on.

Having them two fight it out is a million percent better than what has happened in the last few seasons. No one cares about the last 5-6 league titles Celtic have won

Celtic have 50 titles.
Rangers have 54.
The closest challengers are Hibs Hearts and Aberdeen on.......... 4.

Its time the old firm were assimilated to the English league

Celtic are really not letting sky off the hook with their appalling mis translation of the Morelos interview.

Quite right to be honest. It's a bizarre situation and for this to have happened is ridiculous. I also agree with Celtic that Morelos deserves an apology and an explanation too.

Celtic sticking up for Morelos is a holier than thou move for sure.
