The league needs a massive shake up. Having Celtic dominate as they have is just ridiculous.
They need to figure out how to get the other clubs up to standard as even though the old rangers went into liquidation no other club stepped up to challenge. Its 35 years since a any other club other than Celtic and Rangers won it. Madness how there in still any interest outside the old firm.
Whats the point.
The New Rangers seem to have it going well. So its back to them or Celtic now winning all the time. I suppose 2 teams in the mix are better than one.
I've been thinking about the concept of having two mini leagues halfway through the season after everyone has played each other twice.
The top 6 could have a 10 match home-and-away league for the title and the bottom half could have a ten match league to avoid relegation.
That way, even if the Old Firm keep winning, at least it would stay interesting for the other teams until the last two weekends given the margins involved. Over 10 matches, Aberdeen, Hibernian et al. would be a serious chance to topple the Old Firm.
Avoiding relegation would provide an absorbing context for the bottom six league as well.
You'd have 10 high pressure matches for every club, instead of half of them blandly meandering through another season.
And you'd still get the four Old Firm clashes they're so keen on.
