We won’t. Ole will come out and say he’s happy with the squad and think it’s capable of getting top 4.
Thats the thing, we have a mediocre manager that will most probably wont be here next season, which player would want to come to a team in that state?

For all the talk about Ole going to speak personally to Haland you can imagine what went through his mind, he sees an struggling club with a failing manager that has the days counted, I wouldn’t have choose us either if I wasnt a fan.

United briefing it appears. For a change I probably believe it. Makes me question though why would anyone want to involve Raiola knowing how he is looking to line his pockets. What additional benefit would he have gotten Haaland?

I'm very pleased with this. We shouldn't submit to silly agent demands and set a new precedence. Haaland is a great talent but we need to be firm.

Meh. We do need to sign a proper winger like Sancho in the summer, but the good thing about our forwards is their versatility. Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, James and Sancho is quite good for the 3 attacking spots. In terms of depth Lingard, Mata and Pereira will all still be here next season as well. Haaland is no big loss.

My wit's end

It was obvious to anyone with a brain that he was never coming here. Ole gave it away in the press conference.

I’m actually impressed with this move on his part. Shows that he prioritize his development over money.

Whether we like it or not, Utd isn’t exactly an ideal environment for a young striker like him with Martial hardly old himself and Greenwood coming through. He can compete, but why put himself through the hassle and all the baggage that comes with playing for Utd at this age when he can develop nicely in the BL for a few years and have his pick of top club in the future if it goes well?

Also line Raiola’s pocket up nicely.

But sources also told ESPN that United's interest in the player cooled when it became clear that any deal would involve a share of potential future sale profits between Haaland's father, Alfie, and advisor Mino Raiola. United would also not accept a demand for Haaland to be given a buyout clause for him to move to the club.

As dissappointed I am, players in Manchester United do not have a buyout clause. My hatred for Mino Raiolas advisement have reached peak levels.
Cooled so much that Ole flown to Salzburg the other week to try and persuade the kid to join. Every time we miss out a transfer, it's always us that backed out. We're so insecure, just as Man City. Just say nothing and see for what it is -- it's better for him to go to Dortmund because Keane would end up knifing his dad in his own director's box.

the hype from some people about this guy was really annoying. I’m glad we haven’t signed a tap in merchant. Hopefully we can focus on signing players that will improve our football. For once Ole’s incompetence has benefited the club.

Imagine the juvenile behaviour of the RedCafe babies if a player we bought (Haaland) had an affordable buyout clause later down the line?

I’d say he is. He’s being played wide to get minutes, but through the middle is where he belongs.
In a number of years, maybe. Doesn't look anything like a #9 to me though right now.

Agreed. We want the culture of the club to change, to stop getting into bed with Raiola and offering mental wages to twist players arms, to sign players who actually want to play for us, yet have a meltdown when we stick by that.

Ah, we've been doing the old 'we didn't get the player, but it's because WE said no' shtick again. So boring...

Or you know we didn't want to deal with Raiola. But its better to cry over the state of the club I guess. And assume what went on in his head.

He’s 18, he’s got time on his side. What he didn’t need though was someone his age vying for his minutes in the same position.

Ever thought it might be the truth. We will find out in a couple of years when Dortmund are having trouble keeping him.

If he has turned us down, why is it a big deal anyway? I don’t see why we’d want to sign a player that wants to be elsewhere.

Exactly. I cannot imagine his lot want a high buyout, which puts the club he signs for in an awkward position.

Its not so much us backing out, as us backing out from unacceptable deals. We can't live with a player having a buyout clause that clubs might trigger. This is not a selling club.

We miss out on a huge talent shocker.

Good move for him though. Will be great for his development. Hate Dortmund for it though.

Agreed. The more you bow down to the fat rat the more power he has. And he already has too much.

What's the buyout clause though? Because it's there now. The one at Dortmund. I would refuse one as well. Not in England.

If we didnt wanted to deal with Raiola we wouldn’t even approached him in the first place?

Im sorry but it all seems “We didn’t wanted it anyway” excuses

Anyone afraid of a bit of competition is never gonna make it.

I doubt this had anything to do with it.

The claim he wouldn't get minutes given United's limited options up front is laughable.

Under a tree.
So Raiola made 15m from the transfer, 75% commission .
Hes set to make 45m if the same model is stuck too and rumoured 60m buyout clause inserted is true...

Yeah, NO, this was not gonna happen. No way in hell.

We need a striker though, so by that logic you're saying you wouldn't want a striker because he'll take minutes from Greenwood. You can't build a top side like that, you need quality in every position twice.

For what it's worth, I dont see a striker blocking Greenwood anyway. He'd continue to get his minutes from the right of a narrow 3.

60m that is peanuts if he develops at the same rate. Can see him at Juve soon when Ronaldo is finished.
