I'm not impressed with his shooting ability, shooting technique or dribbling. Everything else about him seems amazing, particularly workrate, creativity and vision. Even in his weak areas though, he is miles ahead of what we've got.
Weird. His shooting technique/ability is easily his best attribute and hes a good dribbler. Its literally the rest of his game that is hard to say what level he's at.

Why does the guy on Bein say talks were held in Manchester and there’s potentially another club involved as reps were also in London? I thought it was reported yesterday they they were in London to see United?
In a nutshell, he’s clueless.

They could have arrived in England determined to get a deal done for him. If the rumours are true that Sporting desperately need the money, they can't put all their eggs in one basket.

Any transfer is a gamble so I'll hold my thoughts on his merits but the fact that various "swap" deals are being mentioned is making me sceptical that this is anything more than the standard "value in the marketplace" exercise Woodward does when he wants to look active but is actually shuffling his feet.

Swapping players when it involves them moving to another country is a long and involved process and requires immense amounts of goodwill from the players concerned.

Given Woodward seems to generate very little goodwill and manages to piss off even the most loyal of players then I doubt he can make a swap happen.

If we are serious about buying him then do the deal and negotiate about the other player separately.

If we start to see leaks about agent demands in the next 24 hours then you can bet Woodward has managed to f this one up as well.

This guy would definitely make a difference if we could get him now, but I can't see it happening. It should have been done in the summer.

My question is, whilst Bruno scores and assists a high amount, albeit in inferior league, would he help us break down the low block teams we struggle against?

Seems like a desperate signing.

I'm saying this now - Fernandes will be another Mkhitaryan

We need hard workers. Grealish over Fernandes any day.
Who is Grealish? No big clubs are after that nobody. Meanwhile Spurs and Madrid were interested in Bruno. This is the perfect signing.

Given he is a very good passer and a goal threat from distance. I think he will help, he wont fix everything but he will help.

Disagree here. Particularly for games against weaker opponents, I believe that the McT/Fred-Pogba-Bruno trio could solve our creative problems. For tricky games against big sides, formation / role / personnel changes could be made.

Though, don't wanna get too ahead of myself with regards to any player who we haven't signed yet given our track record.
It's better to lose the ball in the final third, that is true. But we will often lose the ball in the build-up due to PP and BF needing to drop deep to help out. MCT and our fullbacks(Shaw and AWB in particular and Williams plays with high risk himself) are not capable of bringing the ball safely and consistently into the final third alone.

We still need another midfielder and Grealish could still be a target in the summer if they get relegated .

Id say so given he's both a threat on shots and can pass good. Dream signing for me type-wise. He's a De Bruyne (light) type of player. Think he can do more with the ball than Maddison too

Has there actually been any genuine, credible link to Spurs or is it just Caftards going nuts again?

Says we’re closing in but Sporting are going to hold talks with Spurs too. Wouldn’t be surprised if this fell through.
So like in the summer then Sporting are just doing the rounds looking for takers, wouldn't surprise me if there's still no real interest from us

It could be a great signing, but would Woodward really give Ole a lot of money to sign this guy when his future is quite uncertain?

Bruno is a signing any manager would make, and we need to move beyond the idea of one manager dictating transfer policy.

Just get this done now. Someone like van de Beek + Sancho and Poch in the summer and suddenly things would look completely different.

As much as it pains me to say it Solskjaer is going nowhere.

It's clear and briefed that the manager no longer has full control over transfers in order to stop the constant clear outs of the past 6 years every time we switch manager.

Ole now has a vote only, and a veto.

Can fans please finally start understanding this, since the Summer is it the club that now make transfers, not the manager.

Because Pogba isn’t fit. That’s not a permanent state.
When he's fit it also isn't permanent.
Pogba's spell with us has been marked by injuries, inconsistency, and rumours of his exit.
To trust the whole creative process of the team in one such player is just plain stupid, as proved by the 1st half of the season.

Yes, I am sure that it was Woodward/the club who insisted on spending 80m on Maguire.

While he has around 4 shots per game on average, I would rather have him hitting them from distance compared to Fred or Rashford.
Plays high-risk passing football, which is ok for his position when operating high up the pitch, but can cause some counter-attack against. Can hit long passes which is something we lack among our players and got a functional weaker foot.
His set-piece ability is the main reason as for why we should buy him and is something that should not depend on the league you play in. Not sure if he will get to as many shooting opportunities as he does in Liga Nos or EL, and he will not reach the same amount of goals or assist for us, but is a clear upgrade compared to Pereira, Mata and Lingard.
Would not compare him to Maddison in regards to their ability to handle the ball. Maddison got a softer touch and is much better when moving with the ball.

Don't think him, Rashford and PP would fit into the same team though given the number of shots they take and the number of times our team is actually able to get the ball into good shooting positions without pressure.

Would improve our team, especially on set pieces, but Pelligrini with a £25m release clause (Which Roma are desperate and currently working on removing) would be a better transfer and a better player for our overall play if you exclude set-piece situations. Should be noted that Pellegrini is a good set-piece (Corner and free kicks) as well.
One touch? Combination play?

It would make sense if we had a DOF. Since we don't this means the team is being built mostly by Ed Woodward.
