Gawd, when we are Presumedly signing a player. " He's not worth the money" " Don't believe the Papers" and so on.
I think that this deal will happen, and he has to be better than what we have here atm.

Much like Maguire. Probably not worth THAT amount of money but we really are in a desperate position in midfield so we'll end up paying 65 mil for him

Not a bad deal if true. Everyone and their dog is worth 50m these days.

A quick highlights package and as I thought there is no intensity in these games and the quality I think leaves a lot to be desired.
Was this the team that Bebe played for for a while and hit double figures.
The whole other team was sick.....Our president is a CNUT and that is the only reason this game went ahead. Fans and ball boys had to wear masks to cover their face as there is a virus spreading around the stadium which got 18 players sick.

This is not the EPL but your knowledge of the the league is very skewed, The Portuguese and French league are the two leagues that provide the most exports to the top teams in the world. Players who flopped in our league are stars in there respective EPL teams.

Lastly the big 3 would beat every team in the EPL besides the top 6 (well maybe spurs as Benfica did it a few years ago) in a two leg series more often then not (except Sporting right now who are complete dog shit)

Didn't Felix cost 120+m, coming from the same League, without proving any consistency yet?
"120M" in Mendes money. Felix as most can see and as I said last summer is still very very raw (he does have obvious quality and talent but he was worth over half of that money) . He should of stayed another year in Portugal.

Bruno has been the best player in the league in the past 3 seasons with no one coming close to him.

9 recoveries is crazy

This shows a lot of what I said about him as well. He has to do everything on his own, we are so bad. This Sporting team has no quality around it.

The same nonsense sources keep popping up saying it’s close just like last summer, not getting sucked in until more reputable outlets start reporting it.
I am going to be honest. The big 3 almost never sell there best players in January. They would be eaten alive by the fan base and the president would be sentencing himself to be thrown out as president. I believe there could be agreements made for a deal to go through in the summer. It is not believable in my opinion for Bruno to come in January.

I MIGHT BE WRONG but this is just my opinion the matter. Personally since we are not competing for anything and for the sole purpose that I hope Varandas goes play in traffic AND since Bruno absolutely deserves this move as he has outgrown the league I truly hope this deal goes through.

It was literally reported by Simon Stone.

How much more reputable do you want?

Thanks for bringing a bit of balance.
Yeah I can’t help but worry about this transfer, he might be class but he might just be a big fish in a small pond. Hope our scouts have done a good job on this one.

I’m hoping you are wrong :) The state of United’s midfield at the moment we can’t afford to wait until the summer to get him in. We need him right away to make a push for that CL spot. I seen somewhere that the president wanted to keep him until after the derby with Benfica and the cup semi final against Braga before sealing any deal, don’t know if theres any truth in that though but do you think it’s more likely to happen if we did agree to that?

What is his best position? Strenghts? Weaknesses? Can he play as No 10 in our system?
If you go back 6 pages I wrote a small outline of his quality. If you want more details about his abilities if you look up the other Bruno threads I should be within the first 3 pages.

As for position he is best at the 10 no doubt but as shown by the stats above he always tracks back because of his high work rates and helps in the defensive shape of the team and he covers a lot of ground because of it.

In the final third is where he is deadly and at his best. His eye for goal and fantastic ability to score, his vision and passing ability along with his overall football IQ, not to mention the runs he makes to offer passing outlets (like the second goal he scored yesterday) are where he is at his peak.

As a weakness when the team is not doing well and if he himself is having. a poor game he will sometimes try to shoot himself out of a slump and try to just shoot bombs at goal. Granted this could also be because his teammates are so shit that he feels if not him then who. Additionally he sometimes tries to force a pass in the final third where if it goes through its brilliant but if not then it could be seen as a bad pass. These are rare instances though. He is a very smart player and as he has said many times he hopes to be a coach one day.

Honestly I am not too sure it would make a difference. Those are high level and intensity games and it would not make sense to risk a "70M" player for a game that means feck all. If we beat Benfica or not it makes zero difference in our season. As for the Braga game why risk 70M for a league cup game. The fans don't give a feck about the competition.

As I said before based on the sample size of the big 3 and there best players you will be hard pressed to find any of them selling them in January. The upside for United is Sporting is run by a fecking plague who has no idea what he is doing and is making a detachment between fans and club (I am falling on that list).

I hope I am wrong and hope to see him United mate;)

Yeah thought it sounded silly putting him at risk for 2 games but then the president might think it would soften the blow a bit with fans if you were to beat your rivals and maybe progress to a cup final. That being said it seems by the way your talking about him it wouldn’t make a difference to the fans he doesn’t seem well liked. I know the feeling mate being run by absolute clowns which is why I’m very skeptical of this deal happening, Woodward has a knack for fecking things up.

Yeah Nou_Camp is way off.

Woody signs off on the money only, Judge negotiates. And Woody's not our DoF at all. Before Ole the manager's job at Manchester United was First Team Coach and DoF all rolled into one.

There was a change at some point in Summer 2018 though and we now have a transfer committee (hence Mou losing his shit). That's made up of:

[1] Head Coach, [2] Assistant Manager, [3] Technical Chief Scout (currently Mick Court), [4] Head of Global Scouting (currently Marcel Bout) and [5] Chief Scout (currently Jim Lawlor).

Each man has a vote, each man has a veto. The idea here is that the transfer strategy will not flip flap from manager to manager but at the same time, the managers veto ensures he'll never have a player forced on him.
Don't let facts get in the way of a good moan.

Think we would all feel better if Simon Stone spoke on it again, however can only see that happening if we make any significant progress.

There has been nothing at all from Romano on it but then he generally specialises in deals involving italian clubs.

This is almost beat-for-beat identical to what happened in the Summer.

United got described as being seriously in for him. A tier 1 AC Milan based journalist said the deal was all wrapped up. Inter and Atletico also got linked. The delays were explained away by saying that a particular match was going to be the last he ever plays for Sporting for some important reason.

I expect that before the end of the window, there are going to be links to Real Madrid (just like there were last tiime).

This is nothing more than a sequel to the opening story, with the end of the trilogy being released in the Summer. The final twist will be when he signs for Spartak Moscow.

Whichever journalist wrote the original narrative is probably earning a lot of money from their articles right now. 2019 proved it was baseless. I don't know why anybody is falling for it again.

Ya just as you said we could win both games and the feeling would be the same. He won't last as president very long. The fans despise him. If Sporting win, lose or tie my feeling is the exact same. Ads long as his man is at the helm I just don't care anymore.

If Bruno plays vs Benfica then I done see him leaving.

Once again just my opinion folks don't shun me:lol:

Also this might help. Sporting are in negotiations *allegedly* with a striker by the name of Andrez Sporar (I know..wtf is that) apparently the funds to buy Sporar will be with the money we get from Bruno Fernandes. So IF we see Sporar in Lisbon or a deal soon to be confirmed then that must signal that Bruno Fernandes was indeed sold.

This of course assuming the media is correct on the interest of Sporar.

So this is a deal too look out for as it may play hand in hand with any deal involving Bruno.

Simon Stone, along with other reputed English journalists, consistently said last summer that United weren't seriously interested in Bruno. That changed this window. Now it's the English journalists who are saying something's going on, while continental journalists like Dimarzio and Fabrizio Romano are completely silent.
