Hard game, great result though. Wolves are one of the most defensive teams I've ever seen, like a rich Burnley, they weren't interested in letting either side play football.

For the amount of talent they managed to acquire Wolves are a remarkably dull side.

We're a very evenly matched team with Wolves... All our games against them seem very tight.

Imagine it'll be the same in 2 weeks.

Anyway we were marginally better today... Plus we scored, so yeah, deserved win

As an aside, there's something weirdly aesthetically pleasing about a goal that bounces before it goes in

Will take any sort of win against Wolves. Hard as feck to beat. 38 games into their season and they’ve only lost one by more than a goal. I’d sign now for 1-0 in the league in a few weeks.

Matic now has 9 clean sheets in 11 starts this season. Romero has 34 in 53 United appearances total – just ludicrous.

Rashford injury was seemingly caused by something new on the night. It happens.

Another good cup performance and job done. Dominant without too many chances. Pleased to go through.

It is also shocking to see that there are still people on witchhunt. They never stop. Win. Lose. Draw. It’s ok. We keep going forward while haters will hate.

Terrible performance in both games, but at least we won.

Hopefully Rashford is okay.

Good win, we created the better chances although wolves had a decent chance too.

Middle part of the game we were a too slow with our passing and movement in the final third, which unfortunately isn't that unusual.

Hopefully Rashford is OK, looked like an impact injury so should be OK for Sunday.

Finally beaten Wolves under Ole!

With the amount of injuries and games we've had recently, todays game was just about winning and progressing to the next round. It wasn't pretty, but we got there in the end, courtesy of a beautiful finish by Mata.

The injury of Rashford obviously put a downer on the game. Fingers crossed his sub was more a precautionary measure, rather than anything serious.

Williams is our best LB by a distance. In the absence of McT + Pogba we must start Matic and Mata (at least until Bruno signs). Not a bad performance overall - nice to finally beat them

Romero had a good game, very solid on the ball actually.

Tough game, just edged it. First half was 50/50 but we took control of the 2nd half. Mata is still class, he maybe slow But he is a quality on the ball.
Brandon had a great game against that big fast Traore.
Matic was composed and solid. Fred less so.
Hope Rashford is ok but looks ominous.
Traore was on the other side of Brandon though?

Get in. Hate playing Wolves, such a well organized team and always a pain in the ass. Hopefully Tranmere pulls off an upset, as it's also annoying to play away to Watford

Good win from us. We didn't play amazing football, but created 3-4 1vs1 situations with the keeper and the last one allowed us to score. The balls behind the defense might be something we have worked on in training and it did work well today.
Still too slow a lot of the time with the ball.
Had a poor period in the first half, but defended well apart from that.

Williams and Mata my man of the match. Matic has been doing really well too recently so that is nice to see. Fred mixed today since he gifted them the ball for the disallowed goal and gave away possesion a bit too much at time. Although he won the ball back and created a lot too.

Quite a good win given how well Wolves set up defensively. On many occasions, two wingers drop deep, a back five and two defensive midfielders yet McManaman and his mate in the studio going on about Utd etc.

Good win in the end really. First half was more even between the two teams, but they didn't really trouble us second half. Finally beat these feckers.

Anyway I said at half time that Mata was our best performing player and he proved that further in the second half. I don't think I've ever seen him run so fast for the goal! Nice goal it was too! Nice stuff from Martial for it too.

Rashford going off injured was a massive concern however. A dampener for sure.

Dig up stupid!
It was a poor watch but after 20mins wolves showed pretty much zero ambition for the rest of the game, their plan seemed to be wait for an error (which very nearly worked of course).

All that matters is we're through - now it's all eyes on Sunday, I'm feeling sick over it already

A good win that we probably deserved.
Not the most entertaining match, A bit let down by wolves players play acting and then complaining after the final whistle.
Hopefully Rashford is alright, it didn’t look too bad but you never know until it’s checked.
Scousers up next, isn’t it? Anything other than a loss would be great for us.

I didn't see the match but a win is always better than a draw or a less. From what I heard our defence was too open too. Mata's lack of pace was a positive thing or else he would have been offside.

Great result, Wolves setup quite defensive and are so well organised.

They didn’t really trouble us too much, they seem to be trying to play through Traore, Brandon and AWB kept him pretty quiet.

Hopefully Rashford’s injury isn’t too serious!

Not a great match with little tempo or attacking intent but a nice bit of quality when it Mata'd and we're through so job done I suppose.

We don't half take our time making our minds up about what to do with the ball, nearly every time our centre halves receive it they will take 2 or 3 touches pretending like they're looking for something other than the simple 15 yard pass to their partner which they end up doing anyway but it just allows the opposition time to set themselves or instigate a press. It happens all over the pitch too which is a big contributor to our struggles to create, I don't know if it's because we're not coached well enough so our players are trying to figure it out themselves which leads to indecision but it's something I'd really like to see improve.

Never realized they bitched and moaned to the referee so much. Neves was throwing a fit after every decision towards the end. Anyways a result is a result at this stage of the season, hope Rashford is not out for long.
That's the Portuguese way of doing things. Watch their national team, crying all the time.

What i learnt today, we can grind a win if we need too, Fred is tired and overplayed, was a game of two exhausted teams, williams is better than shaw, Andreas is still not a first team player, Ole fancies Lingard, we badly need Bruno and another midfielder, Romero is the best 2nd string goalie in the world and probably would be first choice at a lot of clubs, rashford needs a break, AWB has scope to improve his attacking ability but is still too predictable, williams should play all important games at left back, ole can be urgent hence his subs at 60th min, ole actually changed tactics in the second half to stop the wolves counter, we are still nowhere near where we need to be, maguire is a rock in that defence but not worth 80m, we need 2 midfielders and a right winger, james needs tonbe put on training for how to use the ball in 1 on 1 situations.

Good results, average performance. I will take the win as this team is exhausted. Liverpool next, i am predicting a beating, take it on the chin and continue to build on Norwich and Wolves.

Pleased for Mata. While getting on a bit he's provided some goals and assists lately.

Insipid, lacklustre, slow, physically weak across the team except for the defenders.
Fred and Matic working their socks off with hold up play and trying to build from the middle, but the 4 ahead of them were a mixture of clueless, getting muscled off the ball, not getting into space or making useful runs.
Of those 4, Mata is the only one that can take any credit.
James and young Greenwood out of their depth.
Martial invisible for large chunks of the 1st half, but turned up for the assist.
Positives.
Romero was solid again.
Williams gave another impressive performance.
Matic, even if he’s slow, was a rock and holding everything together.
AWB showed some good work.
Fred still giving 110%, but still getting caught out a few times.

We’re going to get walloped on Sunday.
