A sad demonstration of where we are as a club. Just not on the same level as the top teams in Europe. Effort was there but we lack quality.

Positives:

Fred - the one player in our midfield who I can see surviving a true rebuild. Second to none in effort and also has quality. Will make the odd mistake but I can forgive him that when looking at the rest of his game.

Williams - a very bright prospect for the future. Imagine he will be first choice LB within 18 months.

Maguire & Lindelof - looked solid considering the burden on them.

Terrible in spells, but also fighted well. Stupid goal to let in since we should be marking Van Dijk better.
We showed all our weaknesses, but also that there is a lot of fight in us.

Going to need a new manager in the future, but hope we can grind our way into something. Really need to bring in players though, but we might be able to get players back for europa league.

Fred gets a lot of credit today. Had to be our main creative source, shield the back 5, drive the ball forward and keep things ticking over.

As for the players around him and behind him? A bit of effort but barely any quality. Sums us up.

Probably the worse bit of defending I've ever seen for that 2nd goal. Could have got a draw Martial, Pereira missing sitters but a deserved defeat. The news of Rashford out for 3 months feels like a death in the family.

There is a genuine gulf between the 2 clubs right now; quality of players, depth of squad, managerial pedigree and momentum.

In that context I was proud of our players today, especially the effort and belief to get an equaliser in final 25 mins. Fred, DeGea and Williams were amongst the best players on the pitch.

0-2 loss is a fair result and the best we could hope for against champions elect and one the best teams in PL history.

Forget and move on.

Ole Glazer Solskjaer thrilled with that no doubt. Glorious defeat. Fair play to Woodward and Ole the loser mentality has set in deep not just within the squad but even throughout a large majority of the fanbase. Sad to see.

I do give the players today a bit of credit for somehow staying in a game where they were completely outclassed for the most part.

But the league table does not lie , they are now 30 pts clear of us , and for large parts today they looked a 30 pt better team.

Our standing compared to Liverpool now is an indictment of the shambles and clown show that the club has become since Fergie and Gill stepped down.

I suspected it is unprecedented for a club so big with so much financial clout to fall so far and so fast off the top.

We may be one of the biggest clubs in the world off the field but we are no more than minnows on it.

Liverpool were wasteful -- could have been 4-5 before 60th minute. Once they took off Ox for Lallana, they lost control of the game.

Martial had one excellent chance which he should have buried but other than that we live in hope of a lucky break. That's all there is to us. Aimless, hapless United, hoping we nick something and get gifted a goal.

Fred again has covered every Blade of grass today and was always up against it playing against Wijnaldum and Henderson.

Anyway, sooner Ole is out the door the better.

Away from home with key players missing against a team that's beating everyone. We rode our luck at time but a little more composure in the final third and we probably get the draw. We set up well but just ultimately lacked the quality to capitalize on the periods of pressure we had. Fred was absolutely fantastic today.

'She canna take the strain' with Ed's face scared the hell out of me

Should have made the subs earlier.

Fred was the bright spot. Not a terrible performance, but the usual...

Let's just win our next match and forget about this.
I just kept clicking to see which picture appeared.

Better performance than expected. Fred was brilliant. We're awful at set pieces in both boxes and that was probably the difference today, funny as it sounds. James got in so many good positions and did nothing with it. We missed 2 sitters, but on the whole they were the better team.

Our squad depth is coming back to bite us in the ass this season. Bad luck to lose McTominay, Pogba and Rashford for long periods this season, but it's a problem that could be lessened with proper depth. All the same, feel for Ole a bit. Would make a massive difference having his full strength team available to him, and the others are all playing pretty well anyway.

Don't actually understand how Liverpool are undefeated. We wasted a lot of good opportunities and played mostly poor, yet we should have probably got something.
They're clearly better than the sum of their parts: it's a testament to Klopp as a manager because individually, their players are good but hardly geniuses. This is clearly not Guardiola's Barcelona.

Disappointing given our last 10 to 15 mins. However, no United fan can seriously have expected a win? Not least because we probably had the best of it at Old Trafford and should have won that one. Not much competition to take points off them at all except us. Without Rashford, you have to wonder where the goals will come from. So we had chances today, but we just can't put them away. Liverpool & other sides have those who can, so we're going to struggle. At least until we sign a striker?

No knee-jerks from me, we just need to stick with this. We're depleted and weakened during a rebuild & were only beaten 2-0, with one of those a last gasp goal borne out of our attack. Nodoby likes losing to Liverpool more than me. Can't stand them. But it is what it is. Pundits and commentary alone had this as about 10-0. F*ck them & F*ck Liverpool.

needed greenwood up front a lot earlier, pereira was meh, james has a hell of a lot of practicing to do to get up to prem material. There, that's my negatives out of the way.

Positives?, well, last 15-20 minutes we played like the united we know we can be. Martial can't take the game to the oppo's without back up or support from people running, Ole has to work on that but was impressed with the end of the game. Will take 2-0 when they should have been further ahead plus, if james knew about getting goalside of oppo's, he might be able to time a tackle.

The feeling is not that they'll win the league this year, but they'll eclipse our record and become the most successful English side again.

Results were good to us yesterday, lessening the blow, could have snatched a draw.

Main point is again our set piece defending which is genuinely disgraceful. Unacceptable

Away to Liverpool has got to be my least favourite game of the season, I hate losing to them but we never play well at their ground am relieved it’s out of the way.

With Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal dropping points this weekend it was a bit of a free hit. Liverpool are the best side in the world, they are far more powerful, dynamic and skilful than us and deserved their win, it could have been a real thumping at the start of the 2nd half but we hung in there and actually did rather well. We had a few good spells in the match where we could have scored, I thought Fred was really good on the night.

The main thing is to recover for Wednesdays game against Burnley. That was tiring but we have to rally as we need the win. The loss of Rashford is a much greater loss than tonight’s game I feel.

Good performance overall considering the injuries, the fact that we played at anfield, and the where each team is in terms of developement.

Lack of quality told in the end, but can't really fault the team for effort. Considering we're missing Rashford, Pogba and McTom, arguably our 3 most influential players, the result was almost expected.

Disappointing as it is, I don't find myself fuming like for example the game at Anfield last season when we just went out with a whimper. Quality wise, we're nowhere near the Dippers but at least we gave it a go.

Shout out to Fred, thought he was immense.

Pogba and Rashford and I think we beat those today. When I consider our injuries, don’t think we’re a million miles away from that lot on what I’ve seen over two games. We have just had too much of the quality taken out of the team. We need a few more real quality additions, and unless he really kicks up a fuss, we must refuse to allow Pogba to leave this summer.

The quality just isn't there. We had decent possession, we played a decent amount in Liverpool's half, what have we got to show for it? A 2-0 loss. That tells you all you need to know.

Liverpool didn't have to be great to beat us. They just waited for our lack of quality to open the door for them. After spending nearly £1 billion since Sir Alex retired we are in an utterly shocking state. £750m should not buy you a plucky loss at Liverpool. It's hard to see it getting better when so many things are wrong.

If anyone expected better they must be seriously deluded.
That was a solid effort today without our two best players against a team who have won 20/21!

We all know we need a lot of work but today isn't the day for too much upset

If greenwood plays earlier or Woodward spends the money on Fernandes earlier then you can put your money on us scoring one of those long rangers

Really don't find this Liverpool team impressive, the only impressive thing about them is that they are somehow still unbeaten. They have alot of energy and can put a cross in. Thought we did ok to say we were playing against 12 men with a depleted squad and could've got a draw on another day. Anyone using this game as a reason to have a go at Ole need to go and have a lie down.

Henderson motm? For what exactly, a couple of 6 yard sideways passes?
That award was decided before kick off, probably during the obligatory y.a.w.n. wank fest.
Fred pissed all over him today, even in the first half when they were trashing us.
