Credit where it's due, with Rashford out he is our best player at the moment. Was really impressed with his attitude and use of the ball! If he can keep this up he will be well worth his fee.

One of the best performances on the ball I've seen from a midfielder of ours at Anfield in years and this is dating back to Fergie's time here.

He really did take over the game in the second half.

One of the reasons we look so fragile defensively. Constantly getting bypassed in midfield.

Probably our best on the ball though and the best of a bad bunch.

Our best player today and a shame he didn't have other talented players around him. Only downside is that I think he should have done better with his chance in the second half, or at least hit the target. Did more than both Pereira and James combined.

A beast, a confident one at that. Some of the moves he was pulling off in midfield were class and he was everywhere. He's the prime example of how patience is rewarded at times, remember how awful he was for an entire year? Incredible turn around, he's definitely found his groove.

That guy that made the “Fred is our most important player” thread was right all along. Take him out of this team and we’re absolutely useless.

Terrific today. Was alone in the middle but still held his own. He's actually starting to live up to transfer fee. He's finally got a handle on the pace of the league and has added a level of composure to his game. Put McTominay next to him and we would've dominated the middle of the pitch.

Best player on the pitch especially 2nd half. he’s our only player who can deal with the energy and speed of the liverpool midfield, danced away from them numberous times.

Right now he’s our most important player.

He is fantastic. We shouldn’t even be thinking about replacing him in midfield. You don’t get a tougher fixture than that and he was the best player on the pitch.

Im just worried we will run him into the ground as we have done with rashford.

Been unsure of him and still don't think he's great against the weaker teams but it's not the first time he's impressed in a big game this season. Shame he doesn't have a midfielder partner at the moment.

MOTM for me and not just from united. I do not think I've ever seen a harder working player at united, plenty of hard working players under fergie but they had hair dryer motivation....fred gives it 100% regardless. He just never stops, never gives up and never let's his head drop.
