Not really. I fancy our chances of catching Chelsea over the next 4
We can’t put a run of form together and haven’t been able to since last March, Chelsea have lost something like 7/9 it’s a miracle they’re only 5 clear the season should already be over.

I just don't know what to do with myself
Since we've not managed to negotiate a midfielder in the four and a half month since closing of the summer window I would comfortably bet my left arm we're not signing a striker in the remainder of this window. Besides, the club decided to throw this season anyway, with the squad at hand.

I’ll get abuse for suggesting this, but Morelos could be worth a punt as a short term option. He definitely knows where the goal is and probably wouldn’t cost that much.
He has a major problem with discipline but 12 league goals in 18 plus a shed load in the Europa League is worth considering. You’d think even our midfield could provide him with better service than what he getting at the minute.

I'd perhaps be considering Morelos from Rangers. He's a risk, but wouldn't be a particularly expensive risk. Plus we need more players that have the fire in their belly.

Pretty sure Gerrard has said there is no chance of anyone signing him in Jan

Pretty sure Rangers aren't really in any kind of position to turn down big money (in SPL terms) for one of their players.

Lemar with an option to buy?
Cavani?
Olmo?
Bowen?
Mertens?

Outside of crazy money I’m unsure of who else, desperate times.

It is essential that we buy at least 2 players this window, ideally 3.

I imagine we'll get 1,if we're lucky.

Nobody coming of consequence. Our squad is deep enough. Apparently

What about someone from the Chinese league? They’ve finished their season? Maybe a short term couple of months loan? There are plenty of mercenaries in that league that would come and play for us for a small fortune?

Well you've just said he wouldn't be an expensive risk, fact is the only way you're getting him is by offering a lot of money

I suggested arnatovic, he’s a good PL player

Might as well purchase a permanent solution to the right wing and move James to the left wing where he seems more comfortable.

A lot of money by SPL standards.

Cant imagine he'd cost more than 20mil.
The same amount that Celtic sold an injury prone LB? Double that and even then I doubt Rangers would take it mid season when they're going for their first title in years

We need a right winger as well as a striker, and have done for years now, but the club were hoping dan James would save the day by performing brilliantly in a new league and in his least favoured position, when he should only have been coming off the bench to play on the left.

Jesus people still crying about Haaland. What don’t you people get? He didn’t want to come here because he wasn’t guaranteed minutes. If he did he would have told Raiola to do one with that contract as soon as we said no buy-out.

I would say the two to go for are Cavani and Werner. Cavani everytime ive seen him looks like a proper profesional. Hard working runs the lines and ok he might at times seem like he needs 20 chances but he can be deadly And score all types of goals. A loan would be perfect but is he in his last 6 months?

Werner probably throws a kink in any future plans as if you’re buying someone like him it’s long term. What’s happening with Jovic at Real Madrid? Is he getting game time or maybe a cheek loan deal?

Ben Yedder, drop some cold hard cash at Monaco.
Even in the summer I would have welcomed him. Unfortunately, considering how vital he is to Monaco, and the fact that he's only just joined, I think that ship has sailed.

Surely it’s wide forwards we need now, not strikers? Unless we want to move Martial back to the left. We have Greenwood and Martial for the centre forward spot. The only actual wide player we have is James. Greenwood has been decent enough from the right, but we might as well use him in his actual position and sign someone for the wings.

Of course we do even before Rashford got injured, we needed another striker especially after allowing Lukaku to leave.

Unfortunately I just cannot see us bringing one in

Do a double raid on Lille and get both Osimhen and Soumare. Both will cost around 80 to 100 m. Get them along with Campos.

Ole says we might look a 'short term deal', I'm struggling, who is there available now on this sort of basis that will make a difference?

Maybe try for Piatek on loan, not sure if Milan would prefer an outright sale though.

We don't need anyone to play on the right, in the Salah/Robben type role because we have James, Pereira, Dalot and Mata. That's 4 great options we have for the position. The fact that none of them can play that position is irrelevant because they all do a job if they play there. Doing a job is what it's all about. Ask any British manager up and down the country, throughout the divisions. They always pick their teams on that basis. Him there, him there, who there? Hmm he can do a job there. Sorted. Playing a team where everyone is playing the position they are most effective is not actually important and that's why the vast majority of British managers never bother doing it. Mane-Firmino-Salah is just a fluke. Them being such an effective front 3 has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with them each playing in the position they are most effective. Anyone who says different is a big fat liar!

Oh god have mercy we don't want fernando Llorente.

Honestly i would pay the dough and get wilf back from Palace. Pretty much plays in every forward line position and is premier league proven at this point, i think he fits our playing style as well because we rely so much on individual brilliance! Don't think he would want to come here but he's desperate for a move from palace i reckon.

This season is salvageable. Chelsea are not certain of top 4 and Leicester could well be dragged into the battle. We're still, just about, in 3 cup competitions and the chance of silverware is there.

For these to be pursued requires us to invest in a midfielder and a striker, minimum, this window.

It is a test of how committed the board and owners are to our success on the pitch. If they fail to deliver these players this window it is simply evidence of how they plan for us to go forward. And it's not pretty.

A lot of us know that their priorities lie elsewhere, but this does feel like a concrete crossroads now.

There is no excuse for a club our size to not back Ole and the team by bringing in replacements. If they dont, we need to get them out of the club as soon as possible.

Deulofeu. A solid, hard-working premier league player who scores and makes plenty. Would be harder now then when it looked like Watford were destined for relegation, but still definitely get-able

The only two strikers I want us to buy are Jimenez or Piatek.

I can't think of any other strikers that would be more beneficial and are attainable.
