Probably not a lot but we’ll have a better manager, owners are here to stay and so if Woodward. Manager can be changed and no one can make a sensible argument that we can’t get a better manager than Ole.
Where do we find this mythical better manager? You’ve no such assurances nor access to any such factual information. Like I said it could well be Carrick until the end of the season! Sacking a figure head will not solve our problems, unless there is a cohesively thought out plan.
Let’s sack him as we’ll find a better manager doesn’t sound like a plan, it sounds like more of the same tripe.

I’d find this better manager literally anywhere, look at guy we have in charge, this isn’t all his fault but he was holding Molde back and will never get a job in England ever again.

Get realistic, there is no master plan changing the manager is all there is. Hoping someone can coach players is turn this around in spite of the owners is all you are ever going to get. Giving up and just sticking with one we have is completely nonsensical.

Name the club that has the most trophies in the last 10 years
Count how many times they've changed manager

Name a club that has 1 manager for the last 10 years
count how many there are

He threw millions away at his testimonial. Feckin shame on the fans who think he’s motivated by money. I’m amazed at how people smear him. You have no idea at all about him as a person.
He might be Saint Paul himself but he got a 3 year contract and he will keep on going until someone tells him otherwise. He won't resign.

Ah the literally better manager. Sounds like a plan let’s get on with it.
But when it’s Carrick until the end of the season, I hope you enjoy it....

Exactly you know it’s true, nothing you can say to back Ole other than pretending a better manager is mythical. What your doing to confusing mythical with reality.

I love the way Carrick gets so much stick when the guy he is sat next too (the actual manager) is doing exactly the same.

Please feel free to name this manger who’s going to step in until the end of the season? And as for backing Ole, I’m simply stating it’ll be even worse if he goes, unless there is a plan, so quit with the backing him shite, as it’s way off the mark.

No point in trying to talk to some of the deluded ones mate. Look at any club that has won the title in the past 10 years and check how many managers they've changed.

If it depended on some they would enjoy having Guy Roux as a manager for 3 decades winning nothing but having a 'plan'.

Which is why we're in the position we are.

I want him out, but seen him called Gollum in the match thread and on Twitter tonight. Which is not cool.
That pisses me off so much. Okay, he might not be the answer as manager. But the absolute bile and disrespect people show him is rotten. I posted months ago about the lack of respect he is shown on a personal level, people might not like him as a manager which is absolutely fine but calling him names like that and worse is uncalled for. He's a United legend ffs.

One of the few who never wanted him beyond his caretaker stint. I certainly do not deserve it.
I eagerly awaited a plan to be implemented, but no, just more of the same shite ensued.

You said a better manage is mythical, it’s hilarious. A better manager than Ole is mythical!, if that’s not backing him I don’t know what is. You genuinely think it’s impossible to find someone better than him but don’t want to be told your backing him.

I feel sorry for Ole. He obviously is not a top manager, but his heart is in the right place. The way the club is run has done him no favours. When Ole gets the sack the next manager will bear fruits of the clearout of players and the games given by Ole to the youngsters.

Yes, of course. Personal attacks should not be coming into play. Blast him for the job he is doing - he certainly deserves it, but name calling is not something I'd agree with ever.

I'm confused, you want him gone or not? There are literally thousands of interim managers who can improve us straight away, let alone also permanent options available right now.

Those who still want him to stay and us sinking deeper and deeper do deserve the shit that is served every week.

No i asked where he was. It’s hilarious that you failed to state where they are and when they’ll take over once he goes.
In reality it’ll be Carrick who takes over. That’s the way the club is ran. Not saying there are no better managers than Ole. Simply how the club will react. Carrick until the end of the season, then possibly Poch. But who knows, why did we appoint Van Gaal? I still can’t get my head round that. Whoever is picking our managers is way off the mark.

Off course the players are happy. He protected the whole useless lot while Mourinho throws them under the bus.

If I'm lingard i know which manager I'd be happy about.

Maguire? Any other club he'd be booed out, at united under ole he got a captain ban

Pogba? He's bidding his sweet time and there's feck all ole can do

Mata - here. Sweet deal. Plays once every month and manages to still get a pay rise

Only winners dont like him, and we have none at our squad at the moment
I can't disagree with the last sentence, but what does Ole stepping down change? Happy players are a good thing, regardless of whether they're shit or not.

Pogba might stay or might go - fine. Mata is still the tidy neat player we signed years ago - fine. Maguire isn't having a great time - sure - but I don't think he's a big problem. If he's still crap when the rest of the team gets into shape, thats the time to question him I reckon.

But these are all situations that exist with or without Ole. We need more players. Our best 11 is a good 11, but the next 5 or 6 players are Championship quality. We need signings. Is Ole the man? Quite probably not. But I don't think throwing all our cards in the air again and hoping for a better outcome is the smart thing to do.

Until we change the structure of the club - there is literally no point in changing managers.

The best thing under the current set up is for ONE vision to move forward.

Ole has a vision for the club - and right now he needs to stay.

We could go for Poch yes? Seems the popular choice.

I give it about 4 months before its "Poch out" time when the team is still failing. Poch will suffer with the transfer dealings, the running of the club and want to spend the first 2 windows bringing in his own players.

So end result? Millions down the drain - shifting all the background staff and still having an abysmal team.

There is very little benefit in changing managers under this set up

I never wanted him beyond his caretaker stint, it was obvious it was all going to go tits up and I’d end up reading personal insults on United forums about a club legend and a truely good guy.
You seriously have faith in the club appointing a better manager? Van Gaal, Moyes, Ole, and Jose all hired since Sir Alex, none of them were the right man. I’m eagerly awaiting an appointment where I can see someone who’ll give us a style of play and actually improve the players.
Do I see us getting that man in January or February, certainly not...

Yes, because it isn't hard to get a better manager than Solskjaer.

I don't expect the next guy that we hire will win us the title back. However he will have us play better and improve on results - which is a decent outcome and much better than what we have now.

Haven’t you seen he’s post match interviews? Always smiling regardless as he’s thinking about he’s bank balance in other words he doesn’t give a feck!
Oh come off it! He's not Jose 'Moan'rinho. Ofcourse he cares, he's just not good enough, hardly anyone resigns in football! But that doesn't mean he's just thinking about himself.

Yeah it’s so easy, yet look what happened last time round, they went and hired Ole. Glad you have so much faith...

Don’t see it happening but if he did, his best timing would be early February. If we get no signings then he should resign and issue a statement expressing concerns about direction, his love of the club and not being willing to enable the owners to continue ‘asset stripping’.

That would really protect himself, and paint Woodward/Glazer’s as we see them. Would be difficult for them to come back from.

Don’t see him being willing to risk leaving the club in their hands solely with no one else involved though.

It isn't his job to resign. It's the board's job to rectify a major mistake and fire the incompetent man.

You can say "well if he loves the club, he'd resign and tell it like it is" - now we'd love that, I would LOVE it if he did that and completely exposed the board. But it would basically rule him out of ever getting a manager's job ever again. No club is going to hire a bloke who might quit and slag them off to their fans at any point.

I got rejected for a lucrative job recently, well, about 5months ago - the reason? I interviewed brilliantly but, in a very relaxed interview environment, when I was pushed by the panel for juicy details on why I'd resigned from my previous role, I was too honest. I told them it was due to poor management above me, making my position impossible to enjoy.

They flat-out told me that they found it to be rather petulant and were not keen on hiring someone who may revolt against management. Ole would be in a similar position if he resigned and slagged off Woodward.

Yeah put it wrong, considering the levels of the two clubs. For 44 years he only became champion once, which is what I meant, but naturally can't compare the stature of Auxerre to United in English football.

Whatever goes on while he is manager it won't taint my memories of him as a player.

I find it easy to separate the two.

He started from the non league level. The fact that they even managed to be champion once is a massive achievement and they did it without winning the lottery, through coaching and management.

It was Moyes like when Ole said we’re still 5th. We’re only there because of the mediocrity in the league this year. Any other year we’d likely be sitting anywhere from 8th to 10th.

So why hasn’t he walked away if he’s heart is what’s best for Man Utd?
Probably for the same reason people often don't walk away from doomed relationships - they think they can make it work despite all evidence to the contrary. I'm not a fan of Ole as a manager but you'll convince that he is some kind of calculating schemer, motivated by getting a big payout.

Not a Utd Fan, at all, but reading with interest.

To be honest I cannot quiet believe what I am reading.

You talk about sacking your manager....who the vast majority of you welcomed with open arms after his trail period.

Look at your starting 11 right now.....your best 11. Look at your subs who came on last night...look at your squad. You are not telling me that your manager is doing a bad job. Sir Alex himself in his prime, would struggle to get this team into the top 4. the position you are in, and the results you have had, are by no means the managers fault. He is working with what he has to work with....end of. You could replace him with a combination of Klopp and Pep, and it wouldnt make one bit of a difference....these are not top of the table players.

Over the past few years you have made huge mistakes in the transfer market....that is the bottom line. You can blame the owners, blame the managers, but it boils down to bad decisions on player selection, and over paying.

To expect to resolve the current situation by sacking the manager represents everything that is wrong with Football in general. This guy was a legend for you. He literally changed the course of the clubs history, and you want to sack him for getting a very average set of players to the top 5. Crazy.

I realise you are "Man Utd" and you are a "top club". But it simply doesnt work like that. Expectations today, have to be aligned with the team, as it is, today.

Ok....I get the owners have let the side down. But again....sacking the manager wont fix that. Nobody was complaining when they got Ole, Mourinho, or even Moyes. In general nobody was complaining when they bought Alexis Sanchez. And in general nobody was complaining when the bought Paul Pogba......so get off your high perches, stop leaving an empty stadium with 10 minutes to go....and get behind your manager, and your young players, and get realistic about what you expect!

Your team needs time to grow. It isnt going to happen overnight. You need a long term manager, with a long term vision. You cannot simply go from where you are now to top of the table overnight. Stick with your man, like he stuck with you when he spent years playing off the bench when more lucrative offers were on the table.

There is a plan.

Get rid of the players that didn't fit, either stylistically or personality wise, cut back to the bone and build back up with the right players as and when they become available. It's a long term strategy which can't be swayed by short term considerations. There is no point in buying a 7/10 player when it means that there is no place for the 9/10 player in the next window.

We find it difficult to offload players too because they have been enticed by big wages that no-one else can afford when the time comes to upgrade.

We are not able to buy "bargains" because the reasoning is if we are interested in a player then "he must be worth at least £50m mustn't he?"

We don't have the luxury of taking punts like Leicester etc. Buying the best young talent is the only way to get value but it's a long term strategy hence Mejbri, links to Bellingham etc.

Not being competitive was always a risk while this plays out so it would be madness to cave when, apart from the injuries, this was always envisaged.

Also Pochettino's ability to inspire an under-resourced squad have also been shown up in the last year, Champions League final (abject performance though) excluded.

I don't understand how people have the audacity to be surprised by our situation. We are exactly where most realists expected us to be at this stage. The moment we didn't sign a midfielder and replaced Lukaku and Sanchez with James, our fate was sealed. We had gaping holes in every single area of the pitch, but only addressed one of them(the defense). It was never going to be enough.

People had almost given up completely even before Pogba's injury. Why is it all of a sudden Solskjær's fault when we are right where most people expected us to be regardless of who the manager is? And before you start: I don't care about win percentage or points. League position is all that matters.

A Blackburn Rovers fan telling United fans to not leave the ground early? Haha amazing.
I remember years of watching games on tv at Ewood Park and my fondest memories were fans storming out (that’s the fans who actually bothered to turn up) on that stand which is visible on the tv cameras ( I notice that’s no longer the camera view perhaps to stop showing the embarrassment that was Blackburn fans storming out of the ground).
I remember Blackburn fans whinging about Sam Allardyce comfortably having them in mid table because they weren’t playing like the 1995 Blackburn team. I remember Blackburn fans turning on Paul ince about five minutes into his reign.

As a Blackburn fan you should know about shit owners.
I also remember the treatment Steve Kean was given.
I also remember the 2011/2012 season where Blackburn Rovers fans spent the entirety of the season booing the board, manager and players and letting chickens run loose on the pitch.

People in glass house shouldn’t throw stones.
Save your lecturing for your own fanbase.

It would be great to have that type of manager though, someone able to take a club that high from starting that low. The funny thing about Guy Roux though is that he always talk nonsense as a pundit, you could swear that he wasn't a brilliant manager.

The millions of pounds he'll be paid when he gets sacked at the end of the season means more to him than his legacy at United.
