A United Council of influential fans to put pressure on Woodward and Glazers

I was just looking at all the comments on here and Twitter. This has to be the lowest period I’ve experienced in my 28 years as a fan.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that fans are complaining about Woodward and Glazers as individuals.

Does anyone think that it would be way more effective if we got the likes of Howson, McKola, the guys at United Stand, BeardedGenius, Drasdo plus any other United fans with clout to put Ed Woodward and the Glazers to open up to a Q and A to really throw those difficult questions.

If they were to avoid, it makes them look bad, but it would also magnify.

I just think that despite us fans complaining about Woodward we’re not reaching them. A United council of influential fans could really get heard.

Thoughts?

Ill be honest, at this rate its probably easier to locate bashar al assad than it is to locate woodward. How would we get access to him?

If you had of said Jim Ratcliffe and Richard Hytner then maybe. Howson not so much.

Difficult one.

I like the idea, but is it really feasible?

The glazers just don't speak to anyone it seems and what I've read about Ed is he's quite sensitive to criticism.

If it was possible and they agreed to be totally open and transparent which is highly unlikely, it wouldn't be a bad idea at all.

I just feel they would fob them off unfortunately so we'd be none the wiser.

Regardless of what you think of him, he has reach of followers. Combining these guys can magnify followers on social media. This has never been done before. Or we can sit there and sulk.

It’s more a way to a combined pressure. I’m sure many of these influencers wouldn’t want to the hassle of such a thing. But it could be just as effective calling them out.

I just searched the words "Woodward out" on Twitter and there is literally millions of results. The noise is already there, they are just great at ignoring it.

What's Eamon Holmes up to these days?
Do you honestly think he would put any difficult questions to them? Even if he was given the questions, I doubt he'd give a strong follow up question to an answer.

You need someone who loves united but can see the flaws and has the backbone to put the pressure on Ed and/or the owners

When the money runs out , we will have our club back.
The signs are starting to show. We are on our last legs of running off Ferguson's success.

You’ll find woodward mainly working from the United office in London. The irony I know. Pretty sure it’s in Mayfair.

You want the braintrust of Adam McKola, Howson, Flex and Mark Goldbridge to spearhead the upheaval of the CEO of a billion dollar publicly traded company.

The notion that people like mckola have 'clout' is hilarious.

Amazing that 15 years on people still think the Glazers give a feck what anyone says... the only action is walking away, but people won't do it.

What’s bearded genius going to do? Throw jokes at them. McKola just shouts and Howson will do nothing.

Someone like Neville putting pressure on them is a start. Now for more ex players to do the same.

The most influential thing is the fans. As one individual worthless and powerless but United and combined we could drive those leeches out.

They have the fan channels. An intellectual like yourself might have the IQ of Einstein but you don’t have a platform. I’m saying, we need a united voice that is optimised on the right platforms more aggressively.

that’s why the likes of mckola are useful because they have established relationships with Neville. Despite what other fans think of them, they are YouTube face of United fans.

This is never going to happen, Woodward avoids most media for obvious reasons and the Glazers have barely said a thing in 15 years now

- the only time I can remember Woodward doing anything remotely like this was for UWS and even that read a lot like the typical propoganda that he is infamous for

It's Neville, Mike Phelan, Scholes and Fergie in black hoodies.

No, it's just Stephen Howson because He counts as multiple people.

So you think a load of chancers who run YouTube accounts, that gullible united fans who soak up their misinformation, are going to put pressure on the owners?
These guys peddle twitter stuff as truth and make a living off the opinion of disgruntled fans. Green and Gold movement was far more damaging to the owners, but came to nothing, a bunch of self promoting fans on YouTube aren’t going to create any issues.
Only way the owners will act is if their investment egg isn’t giving them enough income. They do not care about the fans, we’re all just numbers.

There's no way that the Glazers would ever even consider getting in front of the fans for a q&a and Woodward much prefers dealing with his hand picked media pets (eg Simon Stone), who will happily parrot the party line. None of them will ever go near a hard question.

Woodward is too scared to talk to the media outside of the ones who'll act as his personal PR spokesmen. He's not exactly going to open himself up to questions from the masses.

To be honest even if he was doing a good job he wouldn't exactly be doing this.

The Glazers have no reason to give a feck either way.

There's strength in numbers. Glazers don't give a feck about small panels.

The idiots like Howson, Flex, Goldbridge and McKola make their living off United not being very good. If United were flying high, their channels would have little interest... they wouldn’t be going viral. They feed off the turmoil and division.

The majority of the fans in the ground singing anti Glazer and Woodward songs hate them just as much and would not want to be associated with any campaign they were a part of.

They may have the fan channels but I certainly wouldn't describe them as being influential. Not all fans that subscribe to these channels are always supporters of the respective clubs.

The most powerful fans are the match-going fans, not some morons on a YouTube channel.

Every video is peppered with the 'like, share and subscribe' plea etc., etc. and 'buy our merch' or 'use this app'. They're not really bothered about fans. The fans are just an easy market to make money. You only have to see the way AFTV is going.
