Holy crap, we really are in financial trouble. Watford and Leicester cast offs, both the wrong side of 30. Actually, is someone having a wind up?

I think it would be an absolute dream signing.
I can’t want to get a United shirt with Ighalo or Slimani on the back!

Seriously though, those were my thoughts exactly: financial trouble and please let this be a joke.

Left field shout - Troy Deeney; he's an on the pitch leader and would give us a physical presence that's currently missing from our squad. He's experienced in the Premier League, wouldn't need time to adjust. Just buy him outright, no loan.

Not just a forward but a miracle man. The sort who can beat an entire defence on his own because there's zero service for a goal scorer in this team. He should know in advance that every through ball will be over hit and every cross and corner go directly to the opposition.

What options are actually out there and possibles? I know the Ighalo/Slimani links have been debunked, Cavani seemingly only wants Atletico, Lyon won’t sell Dembele, Haaland and Mandzukic both having moved. Ben Yedder is at Monaco having got a move, Dani Olmo has just moved and there is no chance of Sancho right now, so which strikers are actually on the market as of now? Off the top of my head the following are available or are free agents but none are suitable/good enough...

Glen Murray
Benteke
Giroud
Dwight Gayle
Gareth Bale, but he wants to stay.
Jarrod Bowen potentially would have a price.

Free agents include: Bony, Giuseppe Rossi, Bendtner....

If there are is someone good enough and that is easy to get, I can’t think of them, and literally no one can do the job we need. It’s dire. There were 2 available, 1 who looked right in Haaland, and 1 who looked a decent short term option in Mandzukic and we managed to pass both up when we were in a better position, now Rashford’s injured it’s going to be impossible to get anyone at a decent price!

Yeah I can't think of anyone we could loan to be honest that would be anyway decent. If we wanted anyone decent we'd have to buy them. The likes of Cavani, Dembele , Edouard or Malen would go for the right price I think but we'd be fleeced for any of them now especially as we reek of desperation.

These suggestions are getting scary. This would be Liverpool signing Lambert all over again.

We made a massive mistake in Haaland. Even though he got release clause we should still sign him because we are in desperate situation. Beggar can't be chooser. It's very sad that we are in this situation. No other big club has been mismanage to this extend!

I say we offer BVB 100m for him and see what they say...

Piatek or Jovic on loan with right to buy
A cheeky 20m bid for Mertens or Milik

We should’ve bought Ben Yedder last summer.

If Madrid would let Jovic go, we should be all over it.Otherwise a stop gap like Piatek or Mertens would be the best we can do.

Yeah, that guy scores goals everywhere he goes and had a reasonable release clause, we missed a trick there. It seems like Milan need the money and won't let Piatek go without an obligation to buy. I'm interested in seeing what he can do in the PL but he is too big a risk for most teams.

Just sign Akinfenwa. Big presence on the pitch, used to long ball tactics and the UK climate.

It's so simple
Nothing is simple in football especially with Woodward at the wheel. My point is that there are players available if we knew about them and we really wanted them

Danny Ings for me, in the form of his life, the right age(28 this July) and importantly a decent guy with his off the field stuff.. Was impressed with him at Burnley and feared Liverpool had got themselves a player but he did his ACL soon after getting there and never really recovered, but the lad can play, a cheeky £40m bid on deadline day might do the trick

And I agree. I'd take both do them as well. Would have taken Cavani for 2 years too but it seems his wage demands are a bit stupid.

That's a good idea. Saw him play some reserve games against us. He's a good option and has a great work ethic...only downside is he would probably thump Martial into next Tuesday....but then again some would say that's just what he needs!

Why do people still belive it was up to us to sign him? That clause is just a small part of the picture. The main reason he chose Dortmund was that he knew he would have minimal competition for the main striker spot. Raiola and his father said this outright, that his playing time was the most important.

Here he had to fight against both Martial and Greenwood. Stop believing the United propaganda.

Jovic on loan with Real getting first refusal on Pogba......
Yeah I like the idea of that but we wouldn't have the business sense to make a proposal like that.

Typical that we passed on Haaland and he has banged in 5 goals for Dortmund already.

He ticks most of the boxes for me, we need somebody that will hit the ground running and that's more likely with him than somebody brought in from outside the League, but he's probably too English for most, plus the Liverpool connection will go against him if he didn't continue his goalscoring form ....

A safe unsexy but needed 7/10 purchase.

Mitrovic anyone? Good age, big strong goal scorer, good in the air. Would be a different type from what we have

Think he is injured right now and he was for last couple of weeks. He was bit mental in his head in younger age, seems he cooled off a bit in last 2-3 but he is good in link up play, is able to bully defenders, better in air than Lukaku imo and has better first touch, aint better goalscorer, guess due his pace but for plan B, he wouldnt be awful.

Under a tree.
Liverpool activated Minamino 7.25m release , Dortmund activated Halaand 18m release. Hwang is arguably the most talented of the 3 with a supposed 20m release, i cant workout why we have not gone for him yet. Where ever he goes he will be worth at least triple that in a few years

Mertens is also in his last 6 months of his contract, surely a deal could be done for him
