What a ridiculous waste of time, any serious club would have sacked Ole long time ago and the fans have been idiotic as well, so idiotic to have taken this "stick by the manager" schtick by Fergie as gospel. This season is already over and if we don't fire Ole at the end of the season we will definitely waste the next year too. Then the next manager will not have enough time next year and if that manager is also another clueless moron, then that's a decade wasted.

worst for decades ? far from it. Klopp 1st full season is way better than Ole. he managed to get 22 wins.. Ole got like 9 now. I seriously doubt ole can match Klopp 22 wins for the 1st full season. United has to win the remaining 13 matches straight.
I know it’s almost like failure and regression isn’t the only option and the ability of the manager can have a huge impact on the team performance.

From what I gather you have to compare this season for Ole to Klopp’s season when he took over mid way through the season (like Ole did last season) because otherwise Ole’s performance is laughable in comparison.

It wasn't an expectation for now, it was simply an example of what we'll be wanting to achieve. Our end goal is the title, and sooner rather than later.
One step at a time. We need to become challengers first.

We will become neither with Ole, except maybe relegation challengers.

Still think if we remove him even during the break, get a top manager, beat Chelsea and we can still make top 4 this season.

Come on now, lets not keep comparing Ole to Klopp as it's a laughable comparison at this stage.

We have been through all this with Moyes, LVG, and Mourinho, and now Ole. If Poch or whoever comes in this summer we will be saying the same things next year.
No matter who comes here we have to get rid of the deadwood ( yes but replaced ) and bring in Players that want to play for the badge. This will take time unless the Glazers decide they want it done quickly, and are prepared to put the money up for transfers of top players. This is what most fans are wanting but unfortunately won't get.
Eventually we will have to accept a manager that is here for the long term if we want a rebuild, otherwise we will end up like Leeds or even Liverpool and take 30 years before we win another League title.
But when the man you've tasked with such a monumental rebuild is clearly not fit for purpose why would we preserve with him?

The rebuild has to be done, ideally with a DoF overseeing the transition and planning for 5-10 years into the future. Football, as it is now, cannot place that role onto the manager as you will rarely get managers staying at a club for more than 5 years whether they are successful or not.

If Ole wants to oversee the rebuild and be the one who leads a new generation into a period of success he needs to improve his win percentage, but he isn't. Winning only around a third of his games wouldn't be accepted at any other club, yet we are tolerating a large reason for that is due to a small section of the fans burying their heads in the sand and ignoring the terrible job he has done.

Lukaku like Fellaini did not fit our style of play. He had to go. If you want a defensive manager in to bore the shite out of everyone, like Conte or Simeone, than Lukaku is ideal for that style.
I'd rather have a defensive manager who bores the shite out of everyone and wins, than OGS a defensive manager who bores the shite out of everyone that can't win.

I don't really like how the self professed 'in brigade' have run out of excuses so they have now resorted to downright lies and/or extreme revisionism. I mean, literally all the stats are against Ole, the football is absolutely pathetic as are the results and there is no discernible reason to stick with him. The fact is - and it is a fact - is that he isn't a very good manager and he certainly isn't good enough for a top club.

The 'in brigade' can keep pretending we have a pattern of play. We don't. They can pretend Ole hasn't been backed. He has. They can pretend Liverpool signed megastars. They clearly didn't. They can pretend he done an awesome job clearing deadwood. He didn't, he fecked even that up. They can pretend we're fifth. We aren't. They can pretend the results have been as expected. They certainly fecking haven't. They can make up the wildest of excuses as to why the likes of Sheffield United are ahead of us in the league. I mean, I really could go on and on but all the stats are there in public viewing.

I think some of these 'in guys' don't even believe what they type, to be honest. They have made themselves part of this gang on here so they don't want to lose face and go against their new found online buddies. I mean, anyone that really believes he's a good manager at this point, is beyond deluded or else they're a hopeless romantic. Yes, we ALL know the Board and the owners are garbage, so that can be repeated until the cows come home, but yes, we get it, we all get it. I've really had my Moyes moment with him now, there's absolutely no way back and he just has to go as soon as possible.

Dont know why people keep arguing with guys who have Ole, Fergie or Dream in their name. Could as well be with Ole's son you are arguing with. It is an emotional debate for them, you can't win. Ole is a genius and they will pretend that to League two if they have to. If he fails, everything and everyone else failed, Ole is a genius and deserves time as well as 2 billion in the market.

Next up someone with the name of Ole4everIWantToSuckYourD will appear and people will try to tell him Ole is embarrassing, while he will play the game as usual. Time, Woodward, Klopp , money blablabla. We had similar discussions with Jose fanboys. Sacking is the only way forward and the discussions will slowly disappear. Then they can cry in their corner

What will the Ole in crowd think if Jose pips Ole to Champions League football this season? It would be hilariously depressing really.
I'd think Spurs have a much much better squad who went through a period of underperforming. They've made quality additions to an already quality squad.

Removing Eriksen is probably also for the good, as much like Pogba he was dominating the agenda for the bad.

Yes more work to be done, but for them it's like oiling a well built car. For us it's like building a car out of scraps from multiple other cars.

Any manager with us will have a very tough job to do. I think Ole is struggling to keep float, but i don't feel he is a million miles off of our 'level'.

Ole is relatively inexperienced so might need more time to work it out, but that might be worthwhile given he will be loyal to the club and keep best interests at heart. He also seems like the kind of manager that players will like working with so stop disharmony from becoming so prevalent.

On the flip side continuing to keep spending more can't be the only answer. Any manager will do better with better players. The test is doing the best with what you have and I'm not convinced Ole is getting close to that. We seem to be regularly failing at the same things so you wonder what Ole is doing in terms of coaching and is he learning fast enough.

At least with Jose, he actually has past credentials back him up.

Genieunly anyone invoking Klopp or Fergie is off their rockers. Before Ole was hired, he wouldn't feature in any top 50 managers in the world, i'm not even sure he would feature in a top 100. I'm not even sure he would now.

Only at United would we have the 8th highest paid manager in the world that wouldn't make into a list of top 100 managers in the world,l doubt he would make it into a list of best 50 managers in the UK.

Either your ignorant or dumb. Still trying to figure it out.

But either way you have no right to call Pierera or half of our players rubbish because in 3 years time they could also now be considered as good as Liverpool players. Going off your argument.
You can go ahead and talk to your familiy like that.
They did a poor job raising you. Going off your argument.

Goodbye.

You need both. As i said earlier in the thread, i don't think Ole is the best manager around or is the manager to take us back to the title. My point was that i don't think any manager could win the title atm with our squad, so it's pointless switching for the sake of it. At the moment we need to rebuild, and i don't think anyone could do a better job atm with the recruitment policy/personnel we have than Ole.
I wouldn’t expect a decent manager to win the league with our squad. But after 14 months I’d expect to see a style of play, improvements to our players, I’d like to see signs that our signings are developing... after 7 months Maguire isn’t as good as he was at Leicester yet alone developing

7 points from 6th, I assume it was quite a low points tally though much like Ole as the results were hardly better.

We’ve been as consistent as we should expect. If we can sit back, be the underdogs, play on the counter and don’t concede first we do ok. In w wry other scenario we aren’t very good, Ole has consistently locked down.
Why assume when you can very easily check it? They got 76 points. That total would have been enough for Champions League qualification in every single Premier League season bar one (2013/14). Had we got anywhere above 70 this season, the vast majority of fans would have been delighted. We're on track for 53. You really cannot say the results were "hardly better". They had 49 points after 25 games - in other words, they'd be 14 points clear of us right now, level on points with Leicester and only two points behind City.

Sack him now. Get Poch in, before he signs for anyone else.
At least then, our players will get some months under a manager + coaches that will improve their abilities and play a type of football that is not outdated.

Thanks I’m a bad man.

But would rather you just explain how these guys were any better rated than our top players 3 years ago.

I would still say that he hasn’t been dreadful by his own standards but that this is his standard and our board are content to stick with it, which means there’s no hope for us with or without him because our board has zero ambition.

You're saying that the quality of the manager doesn't make a difference. That's literally delusional. If we had Klopp suceed Fergie, I feel pretty confident we would be in a better place. So it's okay to let go deadwood players but not deadwood managers?

I'd rather have a manager who develops kids and tries to play nice football when all our stars are fit, rather that a bloke who ignores kids and needs 400 million minimum to serve up shite on a stick that puts everyone to sleep.

You are talking about Ole I guess, considering he's halfway through that 400 million mark and serves shite on a stick for about 10 months now.

Baffling logic and truth is we haven’t been through this before, this is much worse.
Almost like having a manager who isn’t up to the job has had a negative impact on the team.

I'm pretty sure we will be playing football that is fun to watch, once everyone is fit again. If Ole can't get results playing nice football, then the bloke who takes over from him should have an excellent foundation to work from, and won't be saddled with players who either don't have the technical skills required to play for an attacking team, nor players who are only here for the cash and have no love for the club.

AWB doesn't have those skills to be a successful attacking right back. From what I've seen from James he's also long way till he is ready to play in attacking and possession based team as his technique and dribbling skills are lacking.

Maguire is slow to play in a high line, unless we buy another CB that can cover for him.

So far his signings have been for a counter attacking and defensive side - Maguire to lump it forward for speed merchants like James, Rashford and Martial to attack the space left behind by the opposition.

I agree with you 1000% So now we in a predicament where if we come back from the break and lose against Chelsea we will be 9 points adrift top four. I have no doubt we will fight for the result but we cannot constantly be in a situation where we are 1 game away from a disaster. Get Poch in get the manager bounce and maybe we will get top 4

Jose was doing a fecking terrible job by the end of his tenure and absolutely had to go. Funnily, Ole is doing an even worse job than Jose managed to do in sabotage mode and he also absolutely has to go.

I still think we have enough in our side to play attacking football. It doesn’t have to be tika taka per say. But Pogba; Bruno; Martial; Rashford (with coaching); Maguire; Lindelöf; Williams; Fred and Matic can all play within the lines whilst keeping a high level of possession. Yes the high line would exploit Maguire’s pace but that is nullified if we replace DDG, as he refuses to come off his line.

Problem is, to play a high line we have to buy another covering CB (Lindelof and Magure will be disaster in a high line) and another keeper, which makes the whole idea as another rebuild and another hundred million just for those two positions.

I'm not talking about tiki taka too, but for us being comfortable in possession.

If we step back couple of years ago, under LvG we looked the "best prepared" to make that jump and look how it ended...

To put it bluntly the team that we have now is much more suited to counter attacking football.

Well we do still have Bailly and Axel Who if injury free are fast enough. If we sell DDG.. there will be money there if required. But for the position we are currently in Romero and Henderson can have a season to prove there worth.

Based on the replies, probably relegation battle, but everyone still wouldn’t agree, we’d still get the minority who will say at least if we relegate, the Glazers might sell..

Seriously though, if we don’t finish top 10, people have to agree he should be sacked, the standards have dropped so much, but I don’t think they’ve dropped that low.

Came with a huge reputation but struggled to find his place in the team. The frustrating part was I remember watching pre season the year Beckham left and Veron looked unbelievable for us. A few days later he was sold. Probably the right decision ultimately but a shame as he seemed to want to rise from Beckhams shadow somewhat only to be flung out.
Jose was honest, how did that go for him?
Seems he is doing better than us right now with Spurs.

From the poll, only 28% support Ole. Out of the 28%, if u take out 5 million of Norwegian population supporting him, opposition supporters and some old romantic feckers. Then we are left with really very low percentage of people actually support his football (boring counter attacking football).
