Just did a bit of googling after that comment about him not being a starter for his Chinese club and it looks like was a regular starter.

However, he's their second top scorer behind a 33 year-old midfielder and he's the main pen taker too it seems. I don't know the context behind everything but at first glance, doesn't seem very impressive.
Well, we could use another midfielder...

He’s just taking a pay cheque. Tevez hardly tore the league apart either.

I’m not expecting any miracles and I dont think he will probably get more than 10 goals in all comps.

Do I understand it correctly that we could have signed Haaland but balked at the terms?

Well he scored 10 in 17 and the attacking midfielder scored 11 in 28. Ighalo was injured for 9 games.

That is Woodward’s version of the story. Riola has a different version of how it unfolded. Either way, it was a major feck up, because in no version was it not doable.

So he's already here, out in the open in the airport. I'm amazed he hasn't gone into quarantine. He has even been tested for the virus? I've heard it can take up to 2 days to detect it.
China is pretty big, have some perspective here.

The terms were such that he would have been easily poachable by any club with the money to pay his low buy-out clause. The speculation and media frenzy will be unbelievable every transfer window. So we can also try and bid for him in the summer by just triggering the Dortmund clause.

He scored 10 in 17 in the league for Shanghai Shenhua, 4 pens and 6 goals. Missed 8 games to injury and missed another 5 because of the AFCON, in which he scored 5 (1 pen) in 7 games and was the top scorer of the tournament.

This 33yr old "midfielder" (Giovanni Moreno) was playing as a striker during Ighalo's absence, he scored 11 goals in 28 league appearances, 8 of his goals came whilst playing upfront.

Cedric Bakambu had pretty much the same stats in the league, 10 goals in 16 appearances & 3 goals in 4 appearances at the AFCON - He was playing for the 2nd best team in the league, whilst Shangai Shenhua finished 13th/16, and Bakambu nearly got a move to Barcelona. It really isn't that bad at all.

We can all say Ed this Ed that but when a deal is not right for Manutd you walk away. Credit to Ed Woodward here, he has to safeguard Manutd.

Even if the fans want us to bow to every mercenary there is.

Certain papers have suggested a £40-50m buy out clause has been inserted into the contract. It makes short term sense to get him in however; if he has a good 12 months, any club could sign him for a fee of £50m for a striker who is performing in the PL.

We have never had contracts with buy out clauses and Ed didnt want to start here. Lets be honest if we signed him and he done well everyone will be like why did Ed sign up to that in the first place if we lost him to City or someone.

Put him in the middle and Martial on the left. Martial cannot be the main man so I would keep him on the left to run at defender. Put Greenwood on the right. James will be impact sub. That's how we should setup the team.

I remember him being fantastic in his first season for Watford and looking like he had all the tools to be a top striker, which you see in that first video, he has a real eye for goal. But then he fell off a cliff in his second season and lost all the hype - 1 goal in 18 games. If we get the striker of the first Watford year, it will bring a lot to the table, second season then will be a waste of space.

If we signed him, Bruno and him could very likely have helped us make top 4 this year. Imagine if that meant that then Jadon Sancho signed for us in the summer, because now we had a strong team playing in CL...

His clause doesn't trigger until 2022 and he could have been our starting striker, making material difference. That would be huge for
us until 2022, and who knows - maybe he would stay because we'd returned to glory? Maybe Pogba would also stay if he saw such turnaround?

Good decisions have ripple effects. So do - bad decisions. This was a bad decision if we did it out of some bullshit "pride". Pride is when you win. There is no pride in losing. Period

Who is to say If Haland signed, we would have signed Bruno? With this board, you cannot second guess signings.

It is clear there are issues with Mino and Manutd which hinders any deal we do.

I'm sure I read his dad died. He also didn't get a big move off the back of his first season and interest from big clubs.

That may have caused issues with his second year form.

The bottom line is Haaland didn't want to come here if he wanted to come a deal would have been worked out. All the buyout clause talk is face saving bullsh*t.

You have to question people’s basic grasp on reality sometimes.
You know in reality most countries are extremely cautious towards any flights from main-land China, and many large companies put any employees that arrive from China on a two week quarantine. The US even do it for anyone returning from China. But perhaps this is a different reality than the one you live in?

That's a cool story but as you can see Ighalo clearly isn't in quarantine nor will anyone else be from a flight from Shanghai into Europe.

Question the government then, "The FCO advise against ALL but essential travel to the rest of mainland China...some staff and dependants from the British embassy and Consulated are being withdrawn from China". Notice it says, China, not only Wuhan. This is reality, ignoramus.

TO China. Not from China. The only people the UK is putting in quarantine are those from Wuhan. Maybe that's a problem for the UK govt, but with 20,000 cases from a population of 1.4 billion, they probably think it'll be OK.

Wrong. That's your opinion based on nothing but emotion. All of the actual facts suggest otherwise and that like it or not United pulled the plug.

*20,000 reported cases. Chinese undertakers have been commenting the number of deceased is far more than officially reported. It's the fastest spreading virus since SARS and more of a worry is that it's evolving. The problem is China, full stop. BA and Virgin have stopped flying to and from there. Italy has banned all flights to and from there. If they're saying don't go *to* China because there is a risk, then surely the least they can do is quarantine those that come *from* China? But I suppose they're more concerned about getting Chinese money than taking further precautions.

Who is the last Nigerian who played for us?

(This isn't a quiz, I have no clue and I'm curious!)
He will be the first.
There will legit be parties and shit in his hometown (which the supports with orphanages and stuff with his huge wage from China).

May not be the player we hoped for but he seems like a good cnut at least.

I'd be surprised if he hit 5 in all comps, to be honest.

That is true. Can't ever be surprised by any level of idiocy Ed can pull :) Giving up Bruno because we signed Haaland would have been a big punch in the stomach

I hope that’s the case. And it would make sense in that a player if Haaland’s top quality would be wise to stay away from the shitehouse football we put on display every single match.

Thing I like about Ighalo is he seems like a really good character. Lots of positivity about him and his social media is full of inspiring messages. He seems like another real leader to add to the squad so regardless of whether he brings up trees on not in his on the pitch performances, he is going to be another positive addition in the dressing room.
Say what you like about Ole but the players he has brought in have all been cut from the same cloth in terms of desire, being humble and genuinely overjoyed to play for us - it’s exactly what we need.

Really cool story but like has already been pointed out to you travel from China to pretty much anywhere is still open so even thinking he’d be in quarantine was very questionable.

He may well be better than Martial (which wouldn't be difficult), but it is laughable that we still have not adequately replaced Lukaku, some 10 months after we knew he was going to be leaving.
