I think this insanely serious and tribal approach to football is silly as feck honestly. Support your team, sure, , but in the end it's just a bunch of cnuts who spend their 10 million a year on tattoos and dumb hair chts kicking a ball around.

Dont get me wrong, I love to ridicule Ajax after a heartbreaking injury time defeat as much as the next guy, but this tribalism and outright hatred? It's the reason I will never take my infant son to the seats I usually sit in our stadium. It's a game of football, not war.

Also the art of self deprecation is the very highest form of wit.
Imo the weirdest thing is going to your feircest rival forum and making thousands of posts it doesn't make sense. I can understand someone like yourself doing it, you may actually be fond of United and there's no rivalry between us and Feyenoord. But with Liverpool there's a whole history of a bitter rivalry.

it is weird. this type of thing doesn’t happen on celtic/rangers forums. We are supposed to hate one another, and should act accordingly.

I feel like it's a miracle I've survived here so long considering the threats to my life I've received.

For example In Feb 2017 I received a PM from Muffled funk. The title of this message was "I'm going to wear" followed by a single message:
Wtf

typical of a scouser.

understand history before posting garbage like this.
Ironically I sat beside Niall in history for 2 years.............for his sins. I was more of a Stalin man. 5 year plans and all that. Actually Klopp has a 5 year plan.............coincidence? :)

Yeah to be fair, after that last post I realized I would rather kick myself in the nuts than go on an Ajax forum to post regularly. On the other hand, the caf is a very nice community and there's a few Pool supporters here who, in my opinion, add something to the football forum. Just that though, the football forum, not the United one. I'm not naming any names, lest it goes to their head, but I think there's Belgian dude on here who supports pool and isn't that bad.

You've taken this far too seriously. This place is incredibly inclusive and at times even goes too far. This is the sensible decision all things considered. Well done our supreme leader

I agree with you 100% and have been saying this for some time now.

@Niall

Feels like you missed a trick here, you should have banned them today and called it the Valentine's Day Massacre.
Exactly - my post number 253:

Niall's St Valentine's Day massacre. :D

Yeah my post was mostly aimed at the person saying non tribalist fans are not real fans. The caf is very inclusive which is part of its strength if you ask me. All the pool supporting newbies of late should obviously feck off.

Just to clear up any confusion, most of you have received a notice that your posting privileges in the Man Utd, Match Day and Player Performance forums have been revoked. This is regardless of whether you actually post in those forums and has been applied to pretty much all Liverpool supporters on here. Why? Because you're about to win the league you fecking cnuts so we're corralling you all into the more general football forums to contain the gloatiness.

Oh and come the day you win "number 19" the ban hammer will be dropping on most of you. A select few who have been here a long time will remain but the last thing we want is a mass of gloaty scousers lording it up in the coming months.

Unfair? Sure. Life is unfair. Petty? Absolutely. But you know as well as anyone how an epic fall from grace can make people that way.

Simply put we always reserve the right to cull the opposition supporting population when appropriate. Consider yourselves victims of your own success.
And I thought we were too soft to do this. Thank You! I can browse the forum without getting irritated now.

Liverpool supporters, hard luck but feck off!

I am not really a fan of what you are saying here to be honest. I will agree that it is strange to be in a matchday thread of a rival team while your own team is playing. But aside from that I really don't like that attitude of being a better fan than someone else. In my opinion everyone can and will define for themselves what being a fan of a football club means to them and how they want to act out this fandom. If someone is an out of towner or simply does not properly antagonize a rival team that does not make him a better or worse fan in my opinion. Of course being informed about your club and its surroundings makes sense and makes you more credible and more interesting to talk to about the subject but I still feel like it is kind of silly to get such a feeling of superiority from it.
Personally I enjoy it a lot to read in forums that are not Dortmund centric because you get completely different opinions and points of views there. And I have been to Schalke forums as well, if you don't behave like an ass chances are they won't either. Being fans of rivaling sports teams does not mean that you can't talk to people like a normal human being.
That's pretty much how I see it. I am not from Liverpool, not even from UK, so maybe that's why I don't get this tribalism thing. Where I live, people at my age, +40, who are into english football, are usually either Liverpool or Man United fans. I have probably just as many friends who support Man United, as Liverpool. No worries about that here. Of course we have some banter and argues, but it's in a friendly way.

Some say, that we're supposed to hate each other. I really don't get it. Why should we?? I will save hate for someone who hurts me or people I care about. Like I've said earlier in here, no Man United fan has ever hurt me. This thread, and whenever we've been arguing in here, is just fun and friendly banter for me. And whenever I meet hostility in here, I try to return it objectively and friendly. I think this thread and some of the reactions are hillarious. It's funny that it is taken so far

At the end of the day, it's just football. It's supposed to bring us joy and I refuse to make enemies because of it.

And no way was Scholes better than Gerrard.. Get a grip :D

This does seem it as if we can't take a bit of banter. Sure the same idiots who repeat the same thing over and over should get booted, but even so, we can't put our heads in the sand and act as if it's not happening. It is happening, they'll getting to it, but at least we seem to be able to get a crack at trying to win the CL next season :)

I love you @Niall

I know all about the bitter rivalry you lot have with Liverpool but come on, have you no compassion?

I feel a bit sorry for any user getting banned, however otherwise you might dislike them.

For the love of God, can you not find a shred of decent human sympathy?

I understand your views, but unless you are from the place in question or fully immersed in the rivalry (I.e. going to games) then your opinion just can’t stand up as much. I was in Moscow in 2008, watched us hammer Roma 7-1 and was sat right behind the goal for Van persies volley against Aston Villa, but by far and away my best moment as a Utd fan was being in the away end At Anfield when John O’Shea scored in the last few minutes and we escaped With a one nil win. The abuse the fans received, the hatred, it’s almost addictive, and that feeling you get getting one over on the team you despise is one of the best in the sport. I don’t want Liverpool fans having that same feeling with people like me at its expense. I find that the people who say it’s just a game of football haven’t been to enough games (especially away ones) to know just how important it actually is.

In a world of my own. People know me here.
OK someone help me out here. Lets assume all of us get the boot from The Caf, & you all have the free run on the Liverpool threads. What is it you want to discuss that you can't already discuss with us on board ?

It's all a bit weird to me.

Erm, it's about Pool fans and their smug title celebration chatter not happening here.

Great moments you've been a part of. I am definitely not the same place. Not geographically, not emotionally. I love playing Manchester United and especially beating you. The rivalry between your club and mine is very much a part of the fun for me. But the passion you and other regular matchgoers have for your team, and against us, is on another level to what I feel. I totally get that. You can feel what you want to. If you hate everything associated with Liverpool it's your right and I respect that. It's just not for me on that level.

Shankly said, that football is much more important than life or death. As much as I respect the man, I just can't comprehend it.
