Liverpool without VVD is a regular PL-winning side with no fancy records and several losses. It may sound like hyperbole, but I honestly think VVD makes a difference of at least 10 points this season. Potentially as much as 20 points.

Liverpool - Allison, not the most important player for them but we saw what they were without a good goal keeper whilst literally everyone else was there.

Adrian a whole season will make mistakes for them.

Guess Lovren do not give people much confidence as a backup. Still it is hard to know how much worse they would be.
He is only a central defender after all and the attack they got should still be very potent.
His leadership ability to improve those around him hard to measure as well.

I agree with this. They were good before VVD joined and without him their attack, fullbacks and midfield engine would mean they'd contest with pretty much every side and could beat them on their given day. With VVD it gives the whole team a level of assurance that they don't get from anyone else.

It's difficult with Pool though as they are very much a side that has been magnificently structured without needing to have a 'star' man like Messi or Ronaldo so to speak.

I actually think Trent Alexander Arnold has more impact on this Liverpool side's overall gameplay than VVD. Take him out and their game plan suffers because he's so crucial in creating chances for the front three.
This is the problem, they've quite a few players who are absolutely huge for them. Hard to pick one. I'd go for VVD though, for the leadership.

Chelsea - Kante
City - Laporte as has already been shown
Spurs - Kane
United - Maguire (because the other ones aren't good enough, individually or as a combo)
Not sure about Arsenal or Leicester

Of course, if you remove Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe from their teams, that's a different team, but I think Bonucci in Chiellini's absense, Busquets and Thiago Silva are all pretty vital for their clubs.
Haven't watched Bayern much, but against Chelsea I thought Thiago was absolutely sensational and ran that midfield.

United perfectly well before Ronaldo. More to the point was the arrival of the Glazers.
Remind me how many Champions Leagues titles we won after he left? Our steady decline was due to not sufficiently replacing him (almost impossible job) and then it was only highlighted to a greater extent when Sir Alex retired.

remind me how many we won after Johnny Aston left

remind me how many we won before 2-season-wonder Ronaldo arrived

remind me how many players missed a pen in the shoot out in the 08 final

he never carried United like he did Madrid. Even his big goal-haul season was courtesy of Rooney sacrificing his own game for CRs benefit. How many did Rooney score the season after CR left, when he wasn’t burdened with being his water carrier?
