Is Pogba as good as gone?

I'm just wondering if he's not rated why do we slap a 120-140 m pricetag on him? Even in our inflated market that's steep pricetag.

Because he is world-class. No one is denying that - but the fact is, he hasn't been with us. But I would love if Pogba signed a new contract, because Fred and McTominay behind Rashford, Pogba and Fernandes (and Martial as a striker) - is potentially as good as City and Liverpool

It will be interesting to see who can afford and want's to splash the cash. I think PSG are hampered by FFP and Real Madrid tend to low ball when they arent 100% keen on a player. Juve have spent so much money recently I can't see them affording Pogba as well. Barca seem more intent on getting Neymar back than Pogba, so I guess, Neymar to Barca and Pogba to PSG.

I would also prefer Pogba to want to stay and be succesfull here, but whatever it is, he doesn't fancy our top 4 race any longer and the fans are on his back whether he's on the pitch or not.

The moment he is fit enough to play games he will walk back into the team and be the best player from the moment he starts playing.

He does get to play with another good and capable midfielder this time... if Ole comes up with a tactic to have Bruno and Pogba both play in a way that suits their strenghts (so no more of that DM Pogba please) the midfield could be very good.

I said it when he was injured and people started a conspiracy about him not actually being injured that we would not be able to replace him regardless of the budget we use. He is world class and with Bruno puts us up there with the best midfield in the world. He needs to sign on if we lan on getting back to the top

At the very least he’s put his price tag right back up and neither of the interested clubs will be willing to pay it under the current circumstances.

Wow. Reading through this thread the toxicity towards him was next level.

People saying they hope he leaves because “we have McTominay”:lol:

We’re a fickle bunch aren’t we

He's taken all the fierce, and in my opinion, unjustified criticism on the chin and has come back giving us nothing but pleasure. He's obviously had a "word" with his agent about his gob and I think will now stay because of the upwardly mobile transition of the team under Ole. The team appear to be entirely happy and are producing where it matters. If all goes well, we are going to be serious contenders next season. (If) we qualify for the CL (Two chances) we will have to spend a bit to fortify some positions. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus are all potless so he won't be going there anytime soon.
The future looks bright.

Really hoping he stays, and stays fit, now. He's still likely to be our most important player, in my opinion.

Really hope he stays. Our midfield is nicely balanced and his quality is irreplaceable in the position. With Fred and McTominay we have decent and enthusiastic depth as well as different tactical options.

He'll certainly be here next season.

If we can continue our current form, he'll sign a new contract come January.

Pogba must love having Bruno in the team with him. It gives Pogba that extra bit of freedom and someone to have friendly competition with who’s on his level.

Bruno’s signing have complimented Pogba so well & they’re both free to do what they both do best & the pressure/burden of carrying the midfield is now being shared. Coupled with Matic’s good form recently, and were suddenly looking at having a balanced, complimentary midfield, playing as a unit. Does wonders, doesn’t it? Long may it continue and hopefully we get Pogba to sign a renewal.

He is not on Paul's level though but a good player who has had some good few games.

I don’t think so. But I won’t argue my case, it’ll give you less time to do your colouring in
They are slightly different players so maybe we shouldn't even compare them. Bruno is more attacking MF. Pogba is box to box. I think reason for Pogba preforming much better is because of Bruno. Now pressure to deliver is split between them. It was the same when Pogba played for Juve with Pirlo and Marchisio. He didn't have to do everything by himself and that freedom allowed Pogba to shine.

I do think he will end up signing a new deal in the summer if we qualify for the CL.

Not too sure how I'll feel about if he does, as we are seeing when he's in form and interested there aren't many better, but I really don't want another 3/4 years of him and his agent flirting with other clubs every summer.

At least Ronaldo had the decency to give his all and keep his mouth shut (for the most part), Pogba just doesn't seem to have the same respect for the club and it really does rub me up the wrong way.

It’s funny how quickly threads like this shift. People are laughing at everything that has gone before on the back of a few games.

It’s great that he is back and seems focused and is playing so well, but the behavior through his agent was disappointing and, even though the club was going through trying times, his demeanor was negative too. Some of his choices while injured were very questionable.

He is back, and it’s great, but that doesn’t mean he is a saint and always was one. I just hope that now he is willing to be part of the solution. The fact that Raiola is quiet would suggest such. He is a fantastic player so it can only be good for Manchester United.

Nothing is ever as black and white as fans make out! Truth is, he did look disinterested when our team was struggling so I can understand why fans wanted him gone! I must admit lots of match going fans were sick of the site of him earlier this season!

However, after the lockdown he has looked a different player- so if that continues i would love it if he stays for many years

I think it is the arrival of Fernandez which has elevated the team to another level in which Pogba believes they can compete. The transformation is astonishing in the whole team.

Disagree. He was injured, there’s a difference between being injured and disheartened...

It’s a complete myth he has been disinterested or remotely negative. He’s consistently been the most liked player within the squad, even welcoming Bruno and taking him house hunting ffs.

It’s an agenda.

Certain to be here? It's far from certain, mate. I think it's more likely he'll be away in the summer, and, if so, we need a world class replacement to compliment Bruno. I really hope he stays, but I'm not confident of that.

Why is it more likely? Not sure on the logic here. If anything reports from the club say the opposite along with what you see with your own eyes on and off the pitch. He looks rather happy.

Pogba's own remarks about a "new challenge", plus the media reports, which I don't think are all hot air. We shall see what happens, and I hope he stays, but we should be making plans for a top class replacement, in the event of his leaving.

You mean the comments he made over a year ago?

I think alot has changed since then. Both on and off the pitch.

If we bring in quality players like we did with Bruno then he'll stay. That's all there is to it. He just felt like he was going to be wasting his prime if he stayed. Finish top 4 and sign Sancho and he's staying.
