I hope Vettel can find another seat. Although I do not rate him that highly as a driver, as a person and a man he is one of my favourite athletes ever from any sport.

Interesting comments by Cyril at Renault about Riccardo.
Rather petty, sure anyone who has watched the Netflix F1 show won't be surprised by it. Love to know what the likes of Hulk, Sainz and Palmer think of Cyril talking about unity and commitment. It's poor from Renault especially considering Ferrari and Mclarens very respectable farewell's to Seb and Sainz.
He's a poor team principle, you could see it at Caterham & he's got the top role for a long time at Renault due to personal links. He won't be going soon sadly.

You could see in the Netflix show that whilst Ricciardo is a brilliant driver, Cyril seemed more happy to be getting one over on Red Bull by signing him. Looking forward to him at McLaren. Hopefully Lando has less reliability issues as well when we get underway.
I'm watching the first season of Drive to Survive and bleep me it's good. Seeing those anxious and downbeat Williams' employees in that meeting whilst Claire tries to talk tough on episode 3 really drives home the nature of the beast. Nico and Lewis would have been epic! I love F1 and have watched it for eons without actually seeing anything that has captured the excitement of it like this.

The autobild article says they are thinking of swapping the F1 team (Daimlers part of it) for Stroll's shares in Aston Martin. Would be a ludicrous transaction if pulled of. Wasn't the Aston Martin CEO replaced a day or two ago?

It would be a huge shame if they went under but the team has been totally rudderless since Frank Williams started to slow down and Claire doesn't seem to have anywhere near the same leadership skills he did.
Doubt many people will be looking to buy unless Audi have changed their mind about wanting to be in F1 - but again current circumstances i suspect VW/Audi have bigger worries
Would be a real shame if we lose Williams but the writing has been on the wall there for a while. A proper investor and shakeup could turn them around, its a buyers market for sure right now.
No chance of any VAG brand entering F1, their strategy is all electric.
I can't help feeling a lot of the notion i've seen for Williams today is romance back to the 80's and 90's. They've not done anything for a very long time, and actually just going through the motions every year. Ironically it's a good time to sell as the new wind tunnel scale will benefit them the most. The biggest challenge at Williams is the workplace culture, it's toxic.
Renault look to be the next to be sold, due to the job cuts they've just announced globally. However it looks like Dmitry Mazepin is lined up to purchase.
So what are the chances of this season being written off, the rule changes taking place for next year and Lewis ending up in an uncompetitive car. Everyone was assuming he would take all of the records this year in that Merc.
They will race this season, as many events as they can. F1 itself and the teams only lose if they don't race at all.
Slim, the rule changes are postponed till 2022. They will race this year and complete a championship, they only need 8 races to do it.

Yes I believe so. I imagine teams would already be working on the new regulations coming in, so with the way things are I think it’d have been tough to get ready in time. This gives them the time to prepare in my opinion.
Kind of gutted as I was looking forward to a switch up but now I’ll be happy with any kind of racing!

I would have thought typically Silverstone pay money to f1 to hold a race
Then they absorb the costs of getting the venue ready

"We will maintain a close dialogue with them in the coming weeks as we prepare to start our season in the first week of July."
Teams must submit a detailed plan for their movements and whereabouts which must be approved by the government.

They're waving race fees for venue owners who are racing behind closed doors, and meeting costs to put the event on. So no gain for the venue, but the sport gets a circuit to compete on.

Not really. Even without overtakes I'm more impressed with their driving in the narrow streets than on the plethora of similar looking purpose built tracks that have come to dominate the rest of the year. And when someone does manage to squeeze by it's almost always epic.
It's gone from having a better reputation than it deserves to a worse one than it deserves in my opinion.
They're some of the best drivers in the world, driving in narrow streets should be a given & i don't put onboard videos high up in my list of requirements for good racing.
