Where the grass is greener.
We didn't start with our best lineup and it showed. James isn't suited to that sort of game and Greenwood did so much better than him. Pogba oozed class. I'm just bitterly frustrated because Spurs aren't good and we should have beaten them.

You can't play 2 slow CBs.

Lindelof isn't good enough.

Harry is slow but at least he can carry the ball and he heads everything around him.

So much talk of a change in culture and being attacking minded.

And yet, the last time United really played great football for a extended time was under Fergie...

We can’t let Dan James start again. Think he needs a loan. Mason is far and away the bigger threat - I know Bruno and Pogba will get the praise but I thought the fact they actually needed to worry about our right side was a decisive factor to the game opening up and we gained a lot of balance to our play.

Happy with the draw away in a tricky fixture after three months out. I think we were very poor first half but second we showed we’re a notch above Spurs.

Rashford and Martial look rusty though.

The Spurs of last year that got to the CL final, certainly.

The Spurs of this year, who before COVID were on a shocking run of form - definitely not.

Two massive points dropped.
This United side struggles to break down solid defensive outfits at the best of times, and Jose is the undisputed King of the defensive masterclass.

All things considered, I'll take 1-1.

Delighted we managed to at least draw it because Mourinhos tactics are just terrible.

Could have won it there at the end. Martial and Rashford looked a bit off which is understandable.

Dan James was very poor though. Sancho for the RW I feel. Although Greenwood was very good when he came on.

I thought other than the 20 minutes after their goal we were by far the better team and a point was the least we deserved.

Poor from Maguire and Shaw for their goal but De Gea? It's just far too often now. These appalling errors, he's a dodgy keeper. If you went back over the last 18 months I think you'd be well into double figures for awful mistakes.

Rashford looked very rusty, Pogba looked brilliant and Bruno was against great.

Pogba and Bruno together from the start next game please.

Very sloppy play from both teams, especially in the 2nd half but that was expected. Considering the circumstances we did more than ok and deserved to win.

Also, Moss needs his whistle taken away pronto.

And after a long layoff, you should go with your most gifted players, especially in midfield. Matic and Pogba should've been no brainer.

On paper it's a good point. However now the game has been played it was 2 points dropped. De Gea has too many moments like that now to be in that best in the world bracket.

Upfront we didn't look sharp which is understandable and will come in time.

James isn't ready for the starting 11, Mason is infinitely better right now and in terms of potential.

If our fullbacks could attack we'd be a real threat.

Solskjaer picked the wrong team and then was too slow to make any changes.

Neither side played well and a draw was probably fair.

Only part of the selection I didn't agree with was James. He was never going to get in behind a Mourinho defense, they weren't going anywhere.

The least United deserved out of that was a draw. Disappointed United didn't win and especially as such a poor goal was conceded

What odds on that penalty getting overturned if it was Liverpool?

Frustrating, but a point away in our "on paper" hardest match left isn't the end of the world. Should have had more out of it, but Lloris and Sissoko were immense tonight.

Though Shaw and Fernandes had great games, Pogba completely changed it though when he came on, he's ridiculous. No sign at all that he's been out for so long

Also, how did Spurs come out of that without a single card? Still the masters of Pottechinos tactical fouling
Leicester away on the last day will be tougher than this should have been.

This team needs to start showing up for crucial games. Ever since Paris, it has felt like choke job after choke job.

Start pogba and greenwood and we win that game

Martial is the biggest fraud in the league he has no footballing brain and isn’t good enough to look half arsed
Yup. How the same fans that give Pogba a hard time don’t jump all over Martial I will never know.

I bet Bruno would prefer it if Tony just wore an opposition shirt so he could focus more easily on the willing runners in the team.

Ole made a few team selection mistakes today in my opinion. Obviously Pogba had to start and Dan James is not the man against a bus driver and parker.

I think the whole team looked rusty tonight, but we still managed a few good moments and the class of Pogba and Bruno shone eventually.

All in all I'm really disappointed we didn't take the opportunity today.

Thought we played well in patches. We did look better with both Pogba and Bruno on the pitch but can't blame Ole for sticking with the side that started (given that that all of them had played a large role towards 11 unbeaten).

Shaw, Maguire and De Gea should have dealt with thier goal better.

Overall a solid performance from us. Martial grew in to the game. Pogba and Greenwood both made a difference. Given our remaining fixtures, that is a good point. Just need to ensure we mop up the remaining points available.Happy for another Bruno goal.

Typical Jose 11 men behind the ball.

All in all ok with a draw away against Spurs even though we should have won. 8-4-0 last 12 matches and 31-3 in goal diff. so still in the unbeaten run even with a rusty restart. Looking forward to see more of what was shown in second place. Positive vibes, but we must get that CL place so need to beat Sheff on wednesday.

All in all, good result.

They were all rusty, so it's hard to jump on anyone's back and single players out - e.g. "(X) isn't good enough, we need to sign (Y) because (Z) clearly isn't up to scratch"

Not sure how people think we deserved the win. We had one shot on target other than the penalty. They had one shot on target as well.

Tottenham cut through our midfield with ease to get near our box. We were fortunate that Lamela had such a bad final ball or they could have a one-on-one with De Gea three times tonight.

They only played defensive for ten minutes or so, but adapted well to Pogba. But, you cannot consistently stop a player of Pogba's quality.

Rashford was pretty anonymous, McTominay was awful, Maguire was poor, De Gea poor, Shaw was not great.
Thank you for acknowledging the reality

De Gea is going backwards, James isn’t a right winger and shouldn’t start a game there unless we have injuries or as a sub, Wan-Bissaka looked lost going forward and how he used to be a winger blows my mind, there’s zero pace in a Lindelof/Maguire partnership and Martial needs to put a lot more effort in as he was non existent all game.

Rashford looked lively and so happy he’s back, Pogba looked lively for the brief time he was on the pitch, saw glimpses that Fernandes and Pogba can play together and Greenwood showed more in the time he was in the pitch than James and Martial combined.

I think in the next game (Sheffield United at home ?) we need to start Bailly or Tuanzebe alongside Maguire, start Pogba and be brave enough to select just one of Fred or McTominay and start Greenwood on the right ahead of anyone else which shows just how important signing Sancho really is.

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Shaw, Fernandes, McTominay, Pogba, Greenwood, Martial, Rashford would be my starting 11 for the next game.

It was a howler but the left side was terrible exposed at times and we did much better after the subs

Pogba, Greenwood definitely contenders to start in place of James and either Fred or Martial . Possibly Brandon Williams instead of Shaw. Tough of Fred because he's been good too.

Chemistry was good between Fernandes and Pogba with the former injecting a bit of pace and urgency in play but they complement each other well

Rusty.
Two points dropped against a poor Spurs side. Would have been a travesty to lose.
Pogba has to start and get chance to build understanding with Fernandes.
Hopefully Martial and Rashford better for the run out - deary me.
Likewise Maguire.
Solskjaer should have made the subs earlier. Was going nowhere until Pogba came on. And his 'Jim Leighton' moment with De Gea is getting ever closer.

Disappointed with our mentality after we scored , we should have pushed on but instead reverted back into our shell and let them come at us.

Bruno is real quality and Pogba is too , need both of them on if we are going to win games.

Fair enough.

We have the easiest run-in of all the top four contenders and I hope we make it up for this game.

Ole took too long to make the subs but it made a world of difference when they came on. At least he should have learned a lot from this game. Have to start Pogba and Greenwood on the right gives us much more balance.

Honestly looking at the game and the recruitment, you have to say the squad are moving in the right direction.

Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Pogba, Fernandes all a very good spine of the team, missing a good winger and striker.

The squad is a lot better than previous years.
Maguire, Wan Bissaka still have question marks.

I don't think McTominay is that good to be a surefire starter. Nor is Greenwood a great option out wide.
Just think that combination complements most.

Greenwood offers a threat from wide with his goals which is better against tight defences than James’ pace.
McTominay compliments Pogba more (IMO) than Fred all McTominay needs to do is win the ball back and pass to Pogba.

We will challenge for the title next year. Especially if we keep Pogba.
Consistency is the key for these lads.

Cut out the mental errors and actually perform week in and week out then we might have a chance.

Getting a proper right winger like Sancho might just lift us to a title winning level. Wouldn't hurt to shore up the central midfield and possibly get an upgrade in central defence too. One can wish.

I think we started quite well. The goal was a horror show. Afterwards we needed a long time to get back in the game. Ole waited too long with the subsitutions of Pogba and Greenwood. Missed chance go get three points but we didn‘t deserve more to be honest. Football is back and the frustration too.
Side note: I think I ran more miles than the ref did in the last few weeks. Shocking to see such an unfit ref.

In the next match we could try to put Martial and Rashford on the flanks. Greenwood on the top. And a midtfield with Pogba, Bruno and Fred/Scott

How can anyone put Luke Shaw in their first 11????

Hope he never plays a game for us again and is sold for any amount of money in the summer window. Who would even want to buy him?

James and Shaw were awful today.
