Sloppy start, which we recovered from, and then they scored just as we were starting to establish and assert ourselves. The equaliser settled us down and we were well on top at HT, and deservedly got 3-1 lead. Started the second half really sloppily, though the penalty decision was harsh. But after that, it was very much one way traffic. Both their goals pissed me off, and I was hoping for another two to make up for it, but it wasn't to be in the end. Also, I hadn't mentioned it in my posts before the match, but before the game I was wanting to see how we'd react after going a goal down and seeing if we had the same issues as before with panic stations setting in. I was delighted to see that we hadn't and we just ploughed straight through them.

We were pure liquid gold in attack, and you can see everyone is just getting better and better the more they play with each other. Our positional play is coming on leaps and bounds, and in Bruno and Pogba we have two proper leaders in the middle, who between them, are dictating our every activity in every constituent element of the pitch. Delighted for both Rashford and Martial getting to 20 for the season, and Greenwood is probably going to join them at the rate he's going.

Finally, I'm so delighted for Ole after the pelters he's received from so many on here and on social media, his quiet dignity and positive demeanour in spite of everything really stood out and I'm proud that I can call him the manager of my football club.

Hypothesis - Mason Greenwood is an alien. I am nearly 50 years old and I have watched a lot of football in those years. Truthfully, I can't think of anyone even trying to go in the opposite top corner while moving away from the goal.

To try that, to execute by achieving the placement and with that much power is only what someone whose powers come from Krypton's sun would do.

Agree with all of this. Glad Ole is succeeding when written off by so many on here.

Very entertaining game , we are really starting to look the real deal going forward and have a lot of exciting young players starting to shine now. We are starting to look like Manchester United again.

But today also showed us the vulnerabilities we have at the back , a top quality CB with pace is essential if we are serious about challenging for titles etc.

Jury still out on whether Bailly can stay fit and become that player we need him to be. if not we need to go the transfer market again and make this a near top priority.

I thought it was brilliant to keep Pogba and Bruno on the pitch and let Fred play with them. Would have immensely helped Fred playing alongside those two. Thought that showed in his performance as well. Fred could be of great use in the coming weeks, if Matic needs a rest.

Absolutely fantastic going forward. Greenwood is an amazing finisher and Bruno was terrific again. Dreamt of football like this under LVG and Mourinho.

Lost our concentration defensively which still happens a bit too often but things are looking promising.

Don't forget Matic, Rashford (form improving), and Shaw. AWB also developing really well. And Mcguire really good when in possession.
Matic was class again and yeah Rashford is slowly getting there, could have had a second today. Shaw I think does better more games he plays like Rooney did.

I feel inspired. Attacking play was ridiculously good. At top, top level. Bournemouth looked like a pub team at times actually being good. All goals were unstoppable. Team was unpredictable: attacked through the right and left, and most satisfying part - right from the centre. It’s a sign of a world class team.

Defence had a offday.July, 4th huh?

Using his weaker right foot as well, to do what you mentioned...It's hard not to splash superlatives at this kid. It will be great seeing him develop.

It wasn't his fault at all. Terrible pass and it didn't even hit his hand.
His arm not his hand, and hit or not a defender should never raise his arm to a ball when he's near his own penalty area. And worse, Bailly was even in no immediate danger like trying to block a cross or something. Don't know what's wrong with you tbh. It's clearly a very basic and stupid af mistake.

Because it wasn't a hand ball and was outside the area and was a terrible pass to him that there wasn't much he could do.

For me it wasn't even a mistake. Terrible from matic and the refs

Attacking wise that was a good performance. Defensively it was very suspect.

This game showcases how much we need to add depth to the squad our starting XI seems great. However I don't have much confidence for the rest of them. Foundations are there, it's time to expand and build on them.

Entertaining game all around.

DDG an Maguire were really poor. Matic with that back pass... attacking players were brilliant.

De gea is truly off form

Those of you calling him shit thought.... the caf never changes
He's been off form for 2 years now man. At what point do we stop calling it bad form and start calling it a decline? Torres wasn't in "bad form" in 2012, he was just finished. Rooney wasn't in "bad form" in 2016, he was finished.

Thing is he didn't need to do anything. The pass was terribly misplaced and trying to control it with raising his arm, near his own penalty area is stupid af tbh. Try to ask any football coach you know and he'll tell you.

A class performance by all except Maguire and De Gea. Maguire looked a bit fatigued, which is understandable.

That we scored 5 and still left another 3 or 4 goals on the table tells the story about where we are right now. Once we get Dave past this bad patch going into next season we’ll be a serious contender to knock Liverpool off its perch. Again.

Thank goodness for the forwards after that defence

Good to see them all getting involved, shame Rashys goal was ruled out thought his end play looked a lot sharper today

Are there any post match interviews? I'd quite like to see them? I don't think I've ever seen Mason be interviewed after a game or at all really

Wonder what his value would be. I hope he can continue his excellent progress and keeps his feet on the floor and level headed. I think Ole will be good at helping him understand the importance of keeping grounded would be interesting to see if he has been working with him. Said a lot when he first started managing us and he said Greenwood was the best finisher at the club. Hope he stays with us for many years. Excellent points for my fantasy team too

I'd like to see Pogba with a goal he deserves one after his performances since the restart. It would be great if we keep progressing and it helps convince him to stay

That was the type of game we've dropped points in over the last few seasons so it's a good win. We were great in attack but looked dodgy in defense, something that got worse when Lindelof, who was poor, was switched for Bailly, and I don't know what is going on with De Gea.

Thought we looked as good as we have under Ole going forward, so much movement, confidence and dynamism, Greenwood, Martial and Bruno were superb.

I think Mason isn't allowed, we have a policy of certain players not being allowed.

If we can freely score like that, it wont matter what our defense is like, eh?

It almost felt like, initially, United took the win for granted because it was Bournemouth. When they finally realised that Bournemouth are in a relegation battle and need all the points they can take, United woke up. The attacking threat we can offer now is just incredible. Dangerous in open play and dangerous on set pieces.

Thats interesting do you know who else we don't allow and why?
I seem to recall they said something along those lines about Mason after one of our Europa games where he was great, is it to try and shield him or keep him level headed or is there another reason?

I like free movement of greenwood around the box, instead of sticking to right all the time. Looks like he has changed his game in that aspect. I think credit should also go to the coaching staff.

I think its young academy players? I guess it's to shield from attention. I think that's the case anyway and now I am doubting myself.

What a game today. So happy we came back so strongly after going down 1-0. For a moment, I was worried that we are going to let this opportunity slip like so many false dawns before.

Fingers crossed. Finally watching United football which makes me happy!

Yeah, not so long ago we’d have struggled to break them down and still be scrambling for an equalizer in the 88th minute.
The team responded well to going behind early and conceding so soon in the 2nd.
How it wasn’t 7-2 or 8-2, I’ve no idea.

Really felt like watching a SAF team before they started playing zombie football. Gotta keep our composure on defense, as that first goal was utterly trash from Maguire and DDG (moreso Maguire). Other than that and the other defensive feckups, I enjoyed the match. I didn't feel too concerned when Bournemouth scored first because I was confident that we'd come back and score. It's been a while since I could say that.

Until we start using VAR properly like other countries do it should be binned, it's ruining football. Nevertheless, great win despite Maguire and De Gea clowning around early on. Fernandes truly is having a Cantona/RVP effect and Greenwood & Martial are just on fire right now. Some sexy goals today!

Smalling?
100% Agree.
Lindeloff is scared of any header (PL center back should be great in the air). Bailly is like headless chicken running "mistake in waiting" and shouldn't be in the team. Smalling is good in air and definitely more reliable than these two clowns.

Lindelof is like a deer in headlights, can't probe or pass at all.

I think as an opposition you'd love to have Lindelof on the ball he poses no threat whatsoever, and even from set-pieces you wouldn't fear him from corners at all.

Definitely needs someone to partner Maguire, but arguably you want someone even better than Maguire to challenge him and push him on, because Maguire at times gets beaten.

My major concerns with the team currently are DDG, Lindelof and at times Maguire.
Magnificient. Maguire makes 2 mistakes that directly lead to goals, but it is Lindelof who gets slaughtered in the forum.
