Robbie Savage was saying over the weekend that if he were Grealish and had a chance to join us even if it were as a bench option, he'd do it in a heartbeat.
You have to also consider that Savage was a Man Utd youth product so he definitely would have.

I understand that point of view, but I think he has been poor for far longer than he has been any good. I think it’s been too long now to suggest that this is form and not his genuine level.

I could be wrong, but I think he is very limited and apart from a purple patch years ok, hasn’t really shown the required ability on the ball to consistently contribute in the Premier League.

I would be very surprised if he went on to have a good stint at another PL club.
You could be right, I've been wrong about this before; thought Danny Welbeck for instance would kick on more than he has.

Lingard has always struck me as a confidence player though, and I think he could thrive in an environment when he's a more key player in the team. I'm fairly convinced he'll go this summer so we'll find out.

Perhaps you’re right, maybe someone like Wilder, could use his strengths and resurrect his career in the same way he has done for Fleck.

No chance in hell Pogba goes anywhere this summer, that seems quite plainly obvious doesn't it.
I dont think anything is plainly obvious with Pogba. His agent is always looking for the next big move and Pogba himself has flirted with R.Madrid.

If Real come for him, he's open to it for sure.

We should have a plan for life without Pogba. Especially as he hasnt got a long contract with us, we always need to be looking at what we are doing with players with 2 years left.

I cant really see Pogba being here for the long term in truth, he'll go at some point

Though I also read sources close to Martinez are saying nothing is decided between Bayern and him.

Yeah Rashford and Laird are of Jamaican descent and I’m sure if we go through history your find Andy Cole, Paul Ince, Paul Parker, Viv Anderson and many more of Jamaican descent played for united so Leon Bailey coming from the island is no big deal, it’s whether we can get something special from him and what the value would be in this market, just saying even Ravel Morrison is of Jamaican descent and Dwight Yorke was our most successful Caribbean import all be it , he was born in Trinidad and Tobago , I can understand how the Jamaicans would like Bailey to join the club as many on the island love united !!

Don't Ziyech and Havertz play in a similar role?
Ziyech is predominantly a right winger, Havertz plays the 10 role. If I remember correctly Havertz had a awful start to the season playing wide maybe a BL watcher can confirm, he's not very versatile.

Nope, Havertz is very versatile (I mean his well rounded game is his biggest strength, he has no real weaknesses) and has played across all offensive positions in his career so far. His best in theory is AM/SS but he also played well on the right wing and his dip in form earlier in the season wasn't due to the position (he played as AM at that time too) and he even had strong games as striker in the post-covid break games.
He also has the tools (great intelligence and good passing) to play as CM and that might be the position where he ends up in the future (his defensive game is probably his biggest weakness right now, it's not bad by any means but would need improvement as CM). Havertz was already compared to Ballack in his youth and while there are a few differences I wouldn't be surprised if his positional development is similar (ie moving further back on the field over time).

I'm sure somebody at Barca in recruitment is taking the p*ss now. They must be sat there thinking 'anymore shite players under long contracts we can overpay for?'
To be fair for all of those wanting us to sign a defensive midfielder N'Dombele would be a good option. Has had a few injuries and maybe problems with management at Spurs. But I can see alot of quality even watching him for Spurs.I dont think he is one of those really over rated midfielders frm th eFrench league that are flops like the guy went to Chelsea a few years back. He is still very young and I feel may be a really good signin gfor someone.
i personally would rather we went for Grealish and stick with waht we have defensive midfield wise for now though anyway

Signing both would give us some serious depth going forward. Have to admit I do worry what happens if Bruno ever got hurt, we don't have anyone to step in
I agree. For all of our front five positions even Pogbas, when you add some of our youngsters that may break through like Mjebri, you can play 3 or 4 players in almost every position, that is why I would love for us to sign both of them....though does concern me that may be it when I feel we REALLY need to sign a centre back this summer

Couldn't give a feck if he does, if he does well fair play to him. All i know is he's been mediocre here (when fit) for a decade so time for him to move on.
I totally agree. Have been a few players we have released have done well when moved on like Michael Keane and JOhnny Evans.....they were never starters here though, so happy for them, makes no difference to us though

I can’t understand why Moyes would look at Jones, who has not been able to stay fit for a decade, and Lingard, who looks absolutely lost and doesn’t produce goals or assists, at all, and decide they are two of his best options for the summer.

If money is paid for these two and Sanchez, it’s a quality summer before anyone is even signed.
I can. This is the same man who made a club record purchase at the time on Mata, who didnt fit what we needed at all and also spent a big fee on Fellaini who was never a Manchester United player

Case of Welbeck he has been destroyed by injuries really though from kicking on. I never saw him as a started for us, but still think we should have kept him as a valuable squad member.

I agree with you on lingard, as we saw that in his one good season, for me that is the very best of him though and its still a touch below what we need. From what I read and see of him, he does strike me as a genuine guy and a real fan.....but at the same time I hate all this branding, hasnt done himself any favours there whatsoever.....oh the youth/notyouth of today

Completely top-heavy though, defence has been pretty poor this season (Brighton/Palace/Newcastle all conceded less) and is getting no reinforcements.
I agree, find it strange that so far solely after attacking players when you look at all the good youngsters they have for those positions. Look at the centre backs and there isnt one i would sign for us, considering we have Lindelof starting....that says it all. Is now wonder they have conceded lots of silly goals.
A bit like us, though great purchases so far and liek we are being linked with in my mind great purchases.....if both of us dont improve the central defensive positions, isnt a chance we challenge the top two. Same goes for City challenging Liverpool next season as well. The premiership bar Liverpool has actually been very weak defensively towards the top, reason I think why success so far hasnt been as good as it sohuld be in Europe

Our defense has indeed been horrendous this season but part of the reason is because of the attack not converting chances. Time and time and time again this season we have dominated matches, failed to score goals during said dominance, and then our defenders shit themselves and concede.

Maybe the thinking from Frank and our club is that if we dramatically improve the attack and capitalize on our dominating of possesion it'll mask our defensive frailties. Similar to what City have done in recent seasons. They've had some awful players in their defense but their attack is so good that it often doesn't matter.
