It’s not as if they haven’t got the funds. Plastic cnuts.

So much for their youth products eh? They’ll hardly get a look in
According to Mr. Woodward, so do we, but nothing has happened as of yet. We Badly need RW and CDM, never mind a CB. We obviously are not as effective as them.

I'm not going to lie their business is impressive so far which angers me. Getting their players in early as well. Watch us chase Sancho the whole freaking window again.
To be fair, he's the best young player in that league, so it's only right they get their money's worth. I still think it will be fine and he'll be here next season.

So i take it youre against signing sancho for big money so greenwood doesnt drop back to the bench right ?
Difference is, Greenwood is going to get games. His 17 goals(?) kind of tell you that he'll play and rotate. At his age, we can't afford to overplay him. You've seen the hits he's taken in the last 2 games right?

Chelsea are signing several big name foreign players for huge money even though they are supposed to have this production line of talent they were going to promote.

I'm not totally agreeing with you but it does appear the Rentboys' targets are in forward positions and players are available.

We need specialists in DM and CB.

Sancho is obviously a talent we can't forego

Giroud is 33.
Willian and pedro are likely on their way out.
We need to be bringing players in for the squad let alone the first team.
The young players are not being impeded if anything just like frank lampard did when chelsea had names coming through the door from 04 should be inspired to work harder to fight to keep their place in the team. They will become better players for it.

Werner, Ziech and Havertz. I’d be buzzing if I were a Chelsea fan.

Ta.
Theres a lot of deadwood that needs clearing out that could raise us money.
Would be over the moon if we signed him such a classy player.
Yeah, I'd also say €80m after add-ins seems almost too good to be true.

That's part of my point, they planned and done their transfers on players that are available and bring them with ease. They bought Kante the same way, and by the looks of it, Pulisic was too.

If we bring Sancho it would be worth it, but I am sure that there is a good CDM available out there and we are doing nothing to strengthen.

David Ornstein tweet;

Chelsea closing in on Kai Havertz:
#CFC only club ready to pay acceptable fee (~€80m after addons)
Personal terms all-but done
21yo keen after Lampard talks
Short wait in case options emerge
Books to be balanced via sales
@TheAthleticUK

So from €100m to €80m incl. add-ons so probably something like 65-70 + 10. Will be the same with Sancho - 75-80 + 10-15.

To be fair, Havertz has potential to become Chelsea's best player and PL's Top10 so if they can sign him they should.

Not sure if you're serious RE youth products getting a look in. But Mount and James have played more or less every game for them this season, Abraham has been given plenty of games, RLC has just come back from injury, CHO hasn't kicked on but has had a few games, as has Tomori. I'd say they've been on par with us with giving youth a chance this season.

He is pretty cheap to be honest, great business by Chelsea. He will likely be Germany's best player for the next decade and will tear the league apart int he future. Absolute class player already. Chelsea have done fantastic business with him and Ziyech and Werner. Absolute force next year if they fix their defense a bit.

I've seen a few people comparing him to KDB recently. I've not seen an awful lot of Havertz, but he reminds me more of Dele Alli rather than KDB in his close control and movement.

Chelsea fecked us this year. Already got 3 starters in the bank and the window hasn't even opened??

Add Ziyech, Werner and Havertz to what happened yday. Could be scary.

He really isn't similar to KDB at all yet. He's not nearly that polished at this point. He's much better than Dele, though. Better passer, better dribbler.

Not gonna lie, I'll be shocked if we actually pull this off. I was 100% convinced that some other club would come in for him since we had other priorities (CB, LB, keeper). I even bet my Caf account that we wouldn't sign him. Getting a bit nervous now! :nervous:

Way too simplistic. We started the game without several key players and we will be adding players too as well, especially if we get the CL cash.

I think we will be neck and neck with Chelsea again next season. Both clubs will try and get closer to Liverpool n City for sure.

Insane to me that he is going to head to Chelsea without as much as a push from us.

Unless we're 100% wrapped up Sancho than I cannot see why we didnt try to make this happen.
Havertz is not a winger. United has Pogba and Bruno for his position. Similar to Bayern (Müller) there is no clear cut way for him into the starting XI.

Seems to me like Chelsea is unnecessarily disrupting their balance now. They've already strenghened their attack with Ziyech and Werner.

I think they should be looking at strengtening their defence instead of another offensive player.

I don't think there's any way we don't address our defense as well.

I don't think so, who does he displace from their attack in the central attacking midfield area? Mount? Massive upgrade.

If they're signing him at the expense of defensive upgrades then yes, but I highly doubt they're happy with their current defenders and will also be bringing in further reinforcements. Will be a force next season in what will likely be a battle for 3rd.

80€ after addons is a steal. Chelsea is currently doing the best bussines in the league. At this moment they 2020/21 team looks far the best. We need to bring in Sancho + DM + CB (that's bare minimum) + some squad players for squad depth (or promote youths) to be able to be competitive.

Slow down there bucko. We still need defensive cover.
A new keeper is a must.

Rumours are that Chelsea are going to go hard after Oblak and Tagliafico. Chelsea willing to send Arrizabalaga to Atletico for free plus €80M for Oblak. Thats madness, we should just buy Onana from Ajax in a double swoop with Tagliafico.

I think its worth remembering that Chelsea looked short of a striker anyway (and they have got werner) and if Pedro / willian go then Zeiych + havetz (if they get him) would be big upgrades

Their attack looks very good on paper. Still we have to see if they can cut in the league and gel together. Not saying they can’t. Although their defense still looks shit. Only their RB situation is okay. The rest needs upgrades same as us.

Look back in PL history. So many big signings and so many flops.

Sancho is a safe bet compared to Chelsea’s signings. If we add him and a CB we will have a much better transfer window.

A lot of that depends on Lampard and his management skill and tactics. They may trust him and give him everything or if they don't like the style of play they may just flop

This development is almost a carbon copy of the Timo Werner deal.

I have to agree with this. People keep comparing our team to yesterday's performance is mad. We had a bad game. Just purely on the law of averages Chelsea were gong to win yesterday.

We need Sancho, CB and a player like Havertz. I would love him here but if Ole and the team prefer someone else, then I'd be happy.

Could be an excellent front 4, pulisic on the left, Havertz behind Werner as a second striker and Ziyech on the right. Don't necessarily think it's better than Rashford/Martial/Sancho and Bruno though. Both sides still have some issues even with us getting Sancho and them getting Havertz, their depth is far better though.

This is false. Reece James and Mason Mount will almost certainly be in and around the first eleven for next season even with the new signings while Tammy and Hudson Odoi will likely be given ample opportunities as well.

He is not a top level striker, we all know that. He's mid table at best, a bit of a Divock Origi

Sure that very well might be the case. But he's a young striker that came from the Championship and he's playing his first season at the highest level leading the line for a top club so I'll reserve full judgment for now. I was more refuting your point that the youth academy movement will end next season because I think it's clear that won't happen.
