Seems like the main takeaway from this presser is that Luke's mom is his girlfriend and his dad is his younger brother.

To be fair it was a result that currently has United 3rd. Another draw this Sunday will do just fine
I don't care what world you live in, unless you are the current PL champions, then drawing at OT to a David Moyes' managed West Ham is not a good result. Reading that made me cringe, but that's what Ole does after a poor result, come out with cringe-worthy comments.

Not that I'm even remotely surprised...but how the feck did Phil Jones get injured again and when??? He's hardly played this season and we've had 3 months off.
He'll probably be fit when summer window opens...

If the medical staff declares him fit to play.
But isn't the protocol 10 days after concussion? Or will the medical stuff count to 7 on Sunday and say 'ah feck, cannot play yet'?
That’s what I mean. You don’t “prove yourself fit“ after a head injury. Either he was concussed or not. If he was concussed then there should be a protocol giving an exact timeframe for a return to competitive football. This all smacks of more of the making it up as they go along stuff we keep seeing when it comes to PL footballers and head injuries.

You mean closes? Why would he want to leave? Not playing, nice wages...
I still remember Jones using his head to 'tackle' Giroud from shooting. It may look a bit silly (actually very) but imo it showed his character a lot. He's definitely a brave guy and he still want to play very much. Tbh I don't buy the narrative of him wanting to stay offering nothing. Imo if he was told he's not needed anymore he'd definitely go. Only potential issue is his wages though ...

So we should be winning every game against those outside the top four, otherwise it's shameful. Can I have some of what you're sniffing?

It was still a result, a point that allowed United go from 5th to 3rd in the table.

If United had beaten West ham by a 1 or 2 goal margin the objective for Sunday v Leicester on Sunday would be the same. (draw or win required)

Of course no team is going to win any games, don't be silly. To say it was a good result is fairly shameful aye.
It was a good result. It put us into third place and made us favourites for top 4. That by it's very definition is a good result. No amount of chest beating changes that. We are where we are and this squad, when you consider the injuries we had and the lack of creativity and depth, is a good accomplishment. It's not shameful for Ole to admit that, it just means he hasn't got his head up his arse.

It's Phil Jones. He gets injured from doing the shopping. So - he doesn't do his own shopping. But then he gets injured from answering his phone. So - he doesn't answer his phone himself. But then he gets injured from brushing his teeth. And then...but he feels uneasy about hiring someone to brush his teeth (it seems over the top, even for someone with shitloads of money) - so...he gets injured. And there we are.

It was a good outcome in terms of being third, but a home draw against West Ham shouldn't be heralded too much

Drop Pogba and start with McTom and Matic. Start with McTom to make it difficult to beat, overun United cm midfield and hard to break down United defend.

The home game against Leicester when United beat them 1-0. Leicester lined up their strongest team with Maddison, Perreira, Chillwell and Soyuncu. And still they couldn’t score a goal and win with United lined up with McTom, Perreira, Mata and James. United do need the top engine, aggressiveness, acceleration and workrate/cover big areas of McTom. Lately many just focus on McTom weak sides, rather than McTom best and positive sides. Without McTom during the long long time per with Pogba out. I am 100 % United will not still be in top for by this date. But the top 4 ship would have sailed away long before The New Year. 100 % convince of that.

And against Southampton and West Ham. Where has been McTom?Then opponent teams know United have slow legs and acceleration in Pogba and Matic. Then start to press high and aggressive. And what should United answer to that. Bring in McTerminator. Equal or better intensity, aggressiveness and pressing. To dominate and win the midfield battle. Pogba and Matic better skills than both South and West Ham. But special South simply outrun and United skills and had higher intensity.

So when Pogba is back. I think Ole has forgot how important McTom has been and how important his abilities without the ball has been for United. And to get the best out of counter attacking football. You need someone like McTom or Kante. It start with them. They win the ball and deliver a direct pass to the front 4.
Leiceister have to score and win. At some point they will go all in. Then they will leave the space to United front 4. United should be tight , but still good to break down Leicester attack. And if they loose the ball and leave big space behind theirs defend. Then it depend on United to be sharp and they the chances.
So Leicester do have a dilemma. They know how fast and skillful United front 4 are. If they are to open. Then it will make it easier for United front 4. Fast and skillful players love space.

Again. United so call second best players beat Leicester best XI home 1-0 earlier this season. And if Ole line up with the so call best United XI with Pogba and Matic against Leicester weaker side without Maddison, Perreira, Chillwell, Soyuncu. Then that line up is surely not the best. United shall start with McTom and Matic on Sunday.

Line up 1-0 to United at home:
https://www.skysports.com/football/man-utd-vs-leicester/teams/408025

It is like how could that United line up beat Leicester strongest.

And in the end. One to watch out on Sunday. Is Luke Thomas on Leicester left side. The left full back. 19 and super quick, with a precise left foot and crosser. United has to stop him. Stop the deliver from him to Vardy. Then United will stop one way how Leicester can score. Then way to win the match is dominate and win the central midfield battle. And be sharp and take your chances. 4 first team players out is a lot. It has clearly reduced theirs strength.

And about McTom. He is high energy and aggressive player. He can be all over the place. But it is here, the manager staff has to tell him to balance it. Playing with a offensive creative Pogba. Both of them can go forward at the sane time too high. But playing with a more deep laying Matic, then McTom role might turn over to be more offensive and box to box. Depend who he is playing with. But still his main job and strength is breaking down opponents attack, not scoring goals. And to shield the back 4. So still be top aggressive. But yet balance it. Know when it’s the right time to set in a good tackle. Just hang on to them like a shadow and make it difficult for them. Then McTom is best of United current cm options.
McTom is not a Pogba or Matic. But i will remember him, because of what he is best on. A tall aggressive cm beast, hard to play against.

Losing to Comeback Winning!
Is third maximum for this group of players?
“Let’s get this game out of the way and get the third position and continue the growth and journey this team is on. We’ve had some hard times this season, some setbacks, we’ve shown this is a team going places and if we can finish the season with a trophy in Europe and third.”
I like his comments in this one.
Still thinking of EL trophy too, not just 3rd place trophy.

I just know we will end up losing this and Chelsea will draw just because of all the fools who didn't think there was a difference between a draw or win against West Ham.

If he's not even driving there's no chance he will be fit to play.

Better to save him for the Europa league, no point risking it to set him back even further.

 I thought it was his girlfriend! damn...
* Breaking news *

Shaws hot mom or girlfriend drops him to training so he’s expected to be out until he starts driving his mom/ gf to training

Hopefully that just meant he's being cautious, putting less burden on foot, relax more.

Or he's actually fit to drive but ;) his "mom" is just concern and stubbornly prevent him to. Caring.

We need his defensive ability for the Leicester game, I think it's fine for him to play cautiously less attacking but reliable defensively vs Leicester.

Wrong. A win against WHU meant that we could lose against Leicester but still qualify if Chelsea only draws with Wolves. Now, if Chelsea gets a point, we need to not lose in order to qualify.

When taken entirely out of context, and why would you remove all context when considering the result?

Well I wasn't taken Chelsea v Wolves in account mainly because I couldn't and still can't see past a Chelsea win.

It hasn't achieved us anything yet. So there is no huge context to it.
