What strength team should we play in the final rounds of the Europa League?

I would like us to try to win Europa but how do we avoid burnout. Ole runs the teams down, as we have seen 2 seasons running.

If we take the Europa seriously, the starting xi will be out of legs by December with no real break since the restart. I hate to say this, but the loss in FA cup semifinal is a blessing in disguise to at least give the starters a couple of weeks off.

Liverpool are going to be very well positioned with 6 weeks off.

How do we ensure our starters get a break?

Les us win a bloody title! Our fans are worse than Arsenals being happy about top 4 only.
I don't think we will win it, but we should try.

People talking about "winning a trophy". Didn't do Mourinho any good did it? His time here is still remembered as an utter failure by most. Small time trophies like the Europa League is irrelevant whilst we are good enough to get in CL.
You play football to win trophies. This club should try to win every competition its in. Every trophy adds to the history of the club.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
We've got two weeks break (obviously our second string will play against LASK, with the possible exception of Shaw). Then if we go all the way we would have three games in two weeks, then have another three week break before the next season starts. That'll be fine.

I presume the matches will be more condensed next season though so we will need to improve our squad.

We should now have a real go at the Europa League, nothing to lose. Play the kids if you want, but we can now do whatever we want in the Europa League and play with no fear.

Amazing how many fans don't want to win trophies.
Only the PL & CL matter these days. Few people seem to even remotely care about the Europa league, FA Cup and League Cup.

I would play under strength teams for the first two games and go 1st team for semi and final if we get that far. It would be great to get some silverware but at this point, getting a good start to the season is more important.

Different times, that was a long, long time ago.
It’s still the same glorified second trophy. Nobody remembers winning it.

And have you seen our team last few weeks? Some of them need a long time off because we barely used the squad. Rashford and Pogba came back from serious injuries. Bruno was on his last legs.

Win it. Play the kids against Lask and then rotate a bit for the other rounds. But Man Utd shouldn't be going 4 years trophyless

Seeding still matters. Remember when City were new to Europe and couldn't qualify from their group because of 3rd and 4th seed?

Yep. Play the kids for LASK and then it's just 3 games to another trophy.
This.
Squaddies needing a game for LASK, so James, Lingard, Mata, Ighalo, Jones (if ever fit?!), Bailly, Romero, and some youngsters.

Then bring the big boys back for the later games.

Next game, for sure play all the bench players, keep them fresh, fit and sharp.

From there, the Prem season is not too far away when the Europa concludes. If Ole is clever he will use them as good quality pre season games. We are three games away from a final, may as well give a good go. Just playing the kids will not benefit anyone in my opinion.

The big issue is fitness. Talk is we might get to start late next season, but still, Liverpool and co are finished now and get to have a 6/7 week break til the start of next season. We could be playing and training for another four weeks before only getting three weeks off. That’s such an insane advantage for Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, and all the rest of the teams already out of Europe that, frankly, I'm not sure a second rate trophy like the Europa makes going into next season with that huge disadvantage worth it.

The new season starting in a month?
Great and then that season we can rest players for the following season

I don't think people realize that this is our best chance of winning a trophy in this season and the next, considering how far ahead of us Liverpool and City and European rivals are. Maybe we can test how close we are by going for it in 3 fecking games instead of worrying about next season?

Now that champions league is secured.

Don’t think we should bother with the Europa league. Yeah it’s another trophy, but we over used our starting 11 and they all need a break.

Would give some of the young and fringe players a go.
I’ll fight you

2 weeks rest is plenty. We've been playing every 3 days for the last 2 months so 2 weeks rest will be huge for the team. It'd be very different if we hadn't won the first leg 5-0 mind. Wolves for example will struggle.

I have no doubts in my mind we'll get to the final at the very least. Our form is excellent.

We should try to win it but you need luck along the way but of course winning trophies helps the group not hinders it.

Sickening really isn't it. Wanting us to write an FA cup semi final off, and now write off a superb chance to win this Europa in the reduced format!

People who aren't morons remember that we've won the Europa League trophy, against Ajax precisely. You saying that doesn't make it true.

I don't really care about this cup.

Certainly play all kids vs LASK and a rotated team for 1/4 final. If we make it to semi's, then bring out all first team.
