So what, it's the placing that counts.

Really, it's any excuse to have a pop at Ole :(
I dont mind him as a person, i just know enough about his managerial history to know he really isnt a world beater, it would be very strange if he turned that trend for United.

True and it's not an easy problem to fix! I still think we are ahead of them in the terms of quality. We're just lacking depth.
TBF there was a clear difference today on set pieces and on crosses - I don't think it's a coincidence that the defense looks far more assured with Caballero behind them. Even putting the shocking shot stopping numbers aside, Kepa is utterly incapable of commanding his area and on that basis alone he deserves to be moved on.

Spurs celebrating 6th............... :houllier:
6th is a good position for them considering everything that happened this season overall.

I think everyone got what they wanted bar Arsenal who will need the FA cup win to play in EL., We and Chelsea got 3rd and 4th, Leicester finishing 5th is still not really that bad for the club considering last season form, and to be honest they don't deserve to be in top 4.

This season has been bang average in terms of quality though. Hopefully next season will be of higher quality.

We finished joint 3rd.

Yeah course you did mate.

In all fairness it doesn’t matter too much. 4th with a cup final, Frank will be happy with that. Looking good on recruitment too so all to play for next season.

You need a quality centre back though and this market is brutal for them. There’s a lack if quality and a massive asking price for anybody half decent.

Shows the quality of the league this year
4th this year like 6th last year, record between Chelsea this year and Utd last year almost identical, just scored 4 more goals and managed get 4th.

@duffer is really the best opposition fan here. I like how he takes everything about football lightly and in a funny way. Hope we can actually learn this from him, me included.

200 millions £ spent to match a transfer banned / new coach / Hazard gone Chelsea, congrats !
Awww. Banned because you bent the fecking rules, you’re own doing.

You signed Pulisic anyways and got back 400 players from loans....hardly an excuse.

People should read through first 4 or 5 pages of this thread. I cant find anyone (myself included) who predicted we'd finish 3rd!

Duffer's one of only two good Chelsea fans, we definitely don't want to lose him.
Well, there's probably more than two
Cheers mate, really nice to get some acknowledgement on here from time to time :)

It was a massive improvement over the form that they were in before Mourinho came in. They were worse than us. While we were 7th, they were 13th. Massive turnaround; I think that is why a lot of Tottenham fans will be pretty pleased by what has happened.
Spot on. Nobody is claiming that we are amazing or anything, but from the position we were in there has been a significant turn around since Jose has come in and that gives us some optimism for next season.

I still think we are the winners here despite finishing below you on goal difference because you'll still be managed by Ole next season. I really think you should try and get Poch.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United benefited from a weaker league this season. The points to get into the top four has been falling for the last four seasons.

76 points
75 points
71 points
66 points

Both teams need to improve massively next season as I don't it is going to be as weak. We actually got fewer points than we did in Mourinho's first season when we finished 6th and won the Europa League.

I think both teams were fortunate this season. The kind of the form we have seen from both would not usually see you into the top four.

In fairness to Chelsea, most people thought they'd miss out on the top 4. Battering them 4-0 first day had most of us wondering how long Frank would even last.

It's been a superb season for Chelsea, as much as we get irritated by them.

You don't think Ole is building something quite special here?

Another question, do you actually think Frank is building something special at Chelsea?

Surely its a stronger league if teams below the top 4 are getting more results against the big boys?

To be fair weren't they 14th when he took over?
Granted it was a great turnaround in form but the actual celebrations today seemed a bit over the top in my opinion. It was as if they survived relegation/got CL.

I just realised that they finished ahead of Wolves.

No, you really don't have a clue, you are talking out of your arse.

He actually has won some silverware before. Apart from Cardiff, he has generally done well in his career. He has done a fantastic job with what he had for a squad.
