The key passes stat can be a bit misleading. If I'm correct, it's just a pass that ends up leading to a shot.

Surely there's a progressive passing stat that better measures creativity.
I like to combine it with "passes into the penalty area". Only KdB and TAA has made more this season in the PL (according to Statsbomb).

He would do well at Utd.

Hopefully someone gives him a no 2 all over any buy him a pair of men’s shorts.

I think if Villa get a decent offer, then he’s off. He kept them up, and had been brilliant for them, but now needs to move on and play for a better club. Must have aspirations to play for England, he needs to leave.
Agree, what left is there really for him to do there. They aren’t going to challenge for trophies and will probably be in a relegation fight next season. Probably time to move on. Played a massive part in keeping them up and can leave on good terms.

Just a bit annoying that them staying up has probably added 10-20mil to the price I reckon.

Perfect for us to be honest. I will be pissed if he isn't a United player next season. Him, Sancho and Rice i want for this summer.

I think most of this deal is done already, he clearly wants out and have probably a gentlemens agreement that he will , for a certain sum.
Think it will be hard for Villa to demand too much just because of that.

This is a guy that signed for Real, did well at first but got benched after his first season, got unhappy and asked to leave. Went to Bayern, did OK at first but got benched mostly in his second season, got unhappy and asked to leave. Went back to Real at got added to the scrap heap. He's on massive wages and is a South American who would have to settle in Manchester. It’s got disaster written all over it. The kind of transfer Woody would have been all over in his early days.
Im fairly certain your aruging with the poster that thinks bruno isnt more than a squad player.

I was all aboard the Grealish train a few weeks back but have my doubts now.

The doubts are based on absolutely nothing. Possibly because we were linked to vdb as well.

Also I feel now villa are staying up his price has rocketed. Shame.

Sign him up so that Bruno doesn't need to be ran into the ground next season. Time to take this squad up a notch. Andreas, Lingard and Mata ideally replaced in one player.

Remains the most obvious United player I’ve seen on the market in a good while. He’d get a huge amount of game time, too. He’d start the new season as first alternative to the existing first team and, in truth, would be keeping one (or more) of these players out the team in no time.

Exactly right. Ole doesn’t trust any of these three and the run in proved this. He’d trust Grealish.

Agreed. He'd play a part in nearly every game either starting or from the bench. I reckon he'd relish it too.

I'm very warm to this signing now, I just hope there is some sort of agreement he can go for something like 40m-50, otherwise we'll struggle to sign others

Wonder if a straight swap for James and Lingard would work. I don't have anything against James and think he can be useful but if you have Martial, Sancho, Grealish and Rashford all better than him on the left and Sancho and Greenwood better than him on the right, is there any point in keeping him?

VbB might make more sense now, if Grealish is going to be pricy

VdB can play 6,8 and 10 as well, right? That would be very handy

Yeah VdB is more of an 8 or 10 whereas Grealish is more of a 10 or 11. Different type of player. Would prefer Grealish myself but if he's too expensive and VdB isn't then I'd be alright with us signing Donny instead. All depends on the price.

Im pretty sure Rice will be off to Chelsea
They are also going to have to pay 'huge' money to sign him as Moyes stated, he's signed a deal with West Ham recently so if anyone wants him, the bidding will start at about £65-70m.
He's be better off staying at West Ham for one more season at least. Let him learn as next season will be far more telling.

I doubt it personally. He will cost a fortune and Chelsea are spending mad already. Rumours were that he was wanted as a CB for Chelsea yet his best performances are at CM. I think he will want to play CM over CB. That's my opinion anyway

Chelsea need a CB and a left back over a CM.

How can you be so sure Real would be his only option? With FFP again showing it has no real power, PSG could well be looking for a big signing. We’re not getting 80 million for him regardless. I’m still not convinced he really wants to be at United, 1 year until we activate the extension and if things carry on he’ll walk away at the end of that.
Well Juventus also did want Pogba but couldn't afford him. PSG are not in for Pogba. He ain't leaving and will be here next season so might as well accept it.

A Lingard + cash deal would be ideal.

Apparently the two players are on roughly the same wage (100k p/w) so it's just a case of whether Villa would want Lingard.

(assuming Grealish still wants to leave Villa now, that is)

He can be our Mahrez, brought on to change games while also playing a tonne of games without dropping the quality of the starting line up.

He'd be ideal to pop in when Pogba or Bruno are injured or play behind them.

What's the news on this front anyway?

I like this idea, probably more likely with them staying in the league too.

I really hope we can afford him and Sancho. Our attack and midfield would be sorted, as good as any in the league.

Lingard would be a decent option for Villa. Experienced hard working etc but he’s on good wages and I can’t see them wanting to pay him that.

Unlike the Sancho-sized hole at RW, finding depth with one or two positionally flexible frontline/midfielders should be where United utilizes its deep scouting network (and deep pockets) and finds a handful of players that fit the bill. Approach the first club with a take it or leave it offer and if they demure United moves onto the next target. If we have money to spend there will be plenty of players that meet our needs and clubs that need to sell. No need to fixate on Grealish...if Villa won’t accept our valuation then it’s on to the next.

I don't get the Declan Rice hype at all. To my eye he's quite limited. We need a player with a much greater passing range as Matic's replacement.

On topic, I have to admit I'm more skeptical we'll sign Grealish now that Villa are staying up. It's not impossible, but I'm just not entirely convinced we'll have 50-60 mil stashed somewhere after the Sancho deal.

Think you're right.

They'll take advantage of the fact that Grealish won't want to force his way out of the club and leave on bad terms.
Or maybe there’s a great deal of mutual respect between the manager and the player who are both Villa fans - and now it’s just about getting the right price for him.

I expect him to move, and expect it to be very amicable.

Sky for what it's worth saying he'll cost at least 70m

Safe to say he'll be a Villa player next season

Nobody is paying that much for him. They will end up with an unhappy player.
I can see a deal been done at 50m +10 for add ons
