Apart from the obvious reason that Pep literally publicly said they weren't interested and mocked the general notion of him returning to City, it seems most things point to Sancho having no real interest in going back there either. He's got no real love for City.
I always wondered why as he spent many years there no?

Has he got real love for United either? I mean, 3 years is a long time for manager or player to change his mind. Also, money talk. Real loud.

Pep said it last month that they won't sign Sancho.

He is from London so there might be real love there and players from the German League seem to prefer London over Manchester.

He's in theory got no real love for Utd except the fact every single sources says personal terms with him will be a breeze (or that they're already done) and he wants to come here. Such a lot of worrying worms on here.

He has most of his mates in Manchester from his time with City though.

:D Sometimes you need to worry if something is too good to be true (that no big Club is in for him).

We are one of the biggest club in the world it's not outlandish to suggest we may be the preferred destination for Sancho.

I would get so frustrated if the man in charge would take so long to get his shit together and doesn't simply make the fecking transfer happening and planing faster and earlier. Every single transfer and squad planing since years.
But, we have to keep in mind that City still has the right to be informed about every offer which comes in. And i don't remember when we bought Sancho if there was some article from a credible source saying that it can be that City also get some minimal percent of a latter transfer from BVB.
The first fact leads to some delay in making the transfer. It doesn't explain all the slowliness though, that surely has to do with Woodwards mediocre at best performance in this field of doing work for a footballclub. The second , if true (could also be that its nonsense), leads to a slightly higher fee.
After all, the deadline stands. On 10. August BVB will have done all their buisness, at least a potential transfer of Sancho, cause they need the money to do all incoming transfers which they have already in place, and want to start their season with all the players (including potential new ones) on this date.
So you guys can set your m-alarm-uppet clock to this date. Be sure to set it also on vibrate, so that you can enjoy this even more. Sancho is a great player.

Doubt that there are more than two or three clubs out there than can afford him. For the prices BVB spit around at least. Not that he is worth that.

He doesn't need to move now either. He's still young and doing very well over there. He can wait thus Dortmund need to lower his transfer fee. Then he'll have more options.

You completely ignored the point maybe he just want to sign for United young English player playing for biggest club in his home country ,maybe it doesn't make sense to you but for Sancho it makes lot of sense.

Some journalists are saying he's homesick, which would tie in with why he regularly flys back to the UK. Makes things harder when you're homesick and now he'll be able to see his family and friends whenever he wants.

But as you say, of course at this point in his career he doesn't need the move, he just wants it. It works both ways, he's still very young so could spend another year at Dortmund to progress. On the other hand, he's a very young player living in another country away from his family and friends.

It also helps our case that we laid the foundations last summer, when he'd have likely moved then, had we got CL football.

He is youngest among the three, and he has 20 goals and 18 assist this season, only Messi has better numbers in terms of both goals and assists.
Although you may argue Germany league is nothing when compared with the great Premierleague. But the way I see it, after witnessing Bruno dominating Preimerleague last couple of months, coming from lowly Portugal league, I see no reason why Sancho couldn't repeat that too. He has amazing skills and technique to begin with afterall. He also done quite well against Barca in CL this season.

Also, I only rate him 0.3 point higher than Rashford and Martial, that's only marginally better.
And how you determined what "0.3" means?) It's just laughable.
I love the kid, have seen him since he was 16 and ecstatic about his transfer but suggesting that he can repeat what Bruno did is ridiculous. He's 20 years old, coming to a far competetive league. What Bruno has done happens very rarely, almost never. It speaks volumes when people compare his impact on the team to what Cantona and RVP did. Bruno is already 25 with exceptional leadership skills, workrate and world-class off the ball movement. Sancho does not have this yet.
And what about Mkhi with his 30+ assists? Even David Silva struggled in his first year. Tons of examples.
If Sancho this good, then why Rashford, and not him, is starting for England?

And not to your post, but overall, people suggesting that Sancho or Mason will replace Tony/Marcus at the end of next season like it's a peace of cake are borderline fools. Martial and Rashford are easily better players now, better developed physically and with more expericence.
Sancho won't come nowhere near 17+16 he did for Borussia in BL in his first season here.

It’s almost as if buying and selling players takes a lot of time with a lot of moving cogs eh?

Stop living in FM world & be patient.

Season doesn’t start for another 40 odd days, so doesn’t matter when he signs, there still will be little to no pre-season so you can’t claim “he needs to bed in with the squad in pre-season”

Relax and see what happens

Im surprised clubs haven’t figured out a way to monetise people’s thirst for transfer news/scoops
How would you recommend it’s done?
Thanks Simon.

It just means I rate him slightly higher than Martial and Rashford, What makes it so hard for you to understand?
If you think Rashford and Martial is better, then its fine too, as I also rate them highly. But if you insist no way Sancho is slightly better than Rahsford and Martial, lets agree to disagree then.
Also, remember, the current best player in Premiere league, De Bruyne, also shined in Germany league too, before he came back to England and become a truly world class midfielder, an even better player.. Shining in Germany league doesn't mean he wouldn't shine or do even better in England, its really weird logic if you think he wouldn't.

Christian Pulisic is another example. He has never scored more than 4 goals a season during his time with Dortmund, he is already on 9 goals for Chelsea this season! I obviously also rate Bruno, but if you take a look at some of the defending for the goals he scored, it is really shocking. Some players adapt quickly, some take longer and some do not adapt at all, regardless of the league they come from.

Will be interesting to see if we sign him and for how much. €120m is a pre covid transfer free and we shouldnt be paying that for him....at least in my view.....yeah yeah....not my money etc but it is the clubs money and I dont like to see the club paying over the odds, I prefer us to be shrewd. In fact united getting fleeced on signings and outgoings downright annoys me (especially in this instance as Dortmund picked him up for €0 and took Bellingham and Haland off us). The spiteful side of me would like to see him leave them for free in 2 years :D

Paying over the odds is the operation-model of Woodward and the price of being lazy and don't got a plan whatsoever, only looking for the favor of the day. We bought Sancho for 8 Million Euros. According to some Redcafe-fake-news-propaganda some posters still believe, Sancho would join Bayern for free instead of coming to United, so i don't know how spitful this would be for you.

Is that a genuine question or are you a WUM who has no interest in a serious debate?
I only corrected that we paid nothing for Sancho, cause thats no true. Also just wanted to underline the 10. August, as this is the date you guys can be sure if its happens or not. This is some positive aspect for nervous muppets isn't it? So enjoy the ride mate, no reason to get angry.

The irony.

All you have done is post ad nauseam in lazy cliches about how incompetent super rich Ed Woodward and Manchester United are and how well drilled Dortmund and Zorg or whoever it is are.
