One of the weirdest links I’ve seen in a while. Why the feck would Joachim Andersen go from Lyon to Torino? Very highly-rated young talent that just recently joined a top 3 side in France, about to go to a side that just about survived relegation in Italy? Torino are kidding themselves if they really are targeting him.
Speaking of Torino; what happened to Belotti? Was he just a one-season wonder? Or is he good but loves Torino or something?

Gimenez is a bit overrated due to one season when he was a regular with Godin. Ever since that season, he struggled to play ahead of Savic. Even this season Savic & Felipe are much more regular than him.
He is also injury prone to be fair. In and out of the team.

What a load of shite. £80m we would bite their hand off.

£50m offer
I'm fairly sure they'd be a number of clubs interested below 80mill. It's also not for the buyer to adjust the valuation due to economic events what shit logic is that. We'll no doubt pay around 80 with add ons upto 120.

Exactly it’s not up to the buyer to determine what the selling club will accept, the whole point is to negotiate a transfer. It’s so bizarre to me when people criticise Villa for pricing Grealish out of a move - “£80m is ridiculous they should accept X amount” - no they have to do what’s in their best interests as a club not what suits the team looking to sign their captain. £80m is more than likely posturing but just like Dortmund they’re fully entitled to play whatever game they can that will lead to the best fee they can get and if they don’t receive an offer which they deem acceptable then we don’t have a divine right to sign their players. All we can do is use our own bargaining position to drive down the price to benefit ourselves.

Lyon may have a decent squad on paper but they were no where near top 3 last season at least. Even after changing manager they struggled, though not as badly as the start of the season. Not sure Andersen really pulled up any trees last season either. Not saying it's true, but it is possible the player just prefers Italy having previously played there. Not sure on Lyon's financial situation but they'll miss out on European football next season so perhaps they need money too.

Upamecano's contract has a new release clause of €50m that's only active next summsr. Does that mean that anybody can sign him for any amount this window?

I imagine it means he's agreed to play 1 more year at a higher wage and then he goes next summer

Lille could choose to sell for any amount this summer, all it means is that next year if they receive an offer of 50 million or more, they have to allow him to speak to the club.

Why are we linked to Gabriel instead of Kabak? I would take Kabak over Gabriel, left foot regardless.

Not convinced with South American central defenders - Are there any really great ones in recent history apart from Thiago Silva and Godin? The next one I can think of is Walter Samuel?

If Liverpool decided against getting Werner, instead shifting their focus to getting in a midfielder and defender, I would say they’ve made the right decision. If they end up signing Kabak and Thiago, and both hit the ground running, Liverpool would have done extremely well.

Bruh, clearly our club didn’t get the memo on Kabak :(

Deigo Godin comes to mind.

Kabak's price tag is also 30m, just 5m more than Gabriel.

Gimenez is also very good for A. Madrid.

Lucio, Walter Samuel, Ayala, Godin to name a few. But I agree there’s rather few.

I haven’t really followed him, to be honest. I know he’s highly rated, and I wonder if his injuries would prevent him from reaching his full potential. Perhaps we should be looking at young Uruguayan central defenders? Godin, and Gimenez...

Aye, thanks. Forgot about Ayala and Lucio!

Gabriel might be good, I don’t know. I haven’t bothered watching YouTube compilations of him. I have watched a fair few Schalke games though so I am more familiar with him.

Yes injuries have been an issue for Gimenez, and could prevent him from reaching his potential. While I get your notion, where a player comes from hardly plays a role in how good he could become. Lots of great players in different positions from different countries, and there's always a first.

Gimenez played only 21 league games and 4 in CL this season so no idea why he should be worth €120m. Doesn't look like he's that important for Simeone.
