Grant; Laird, Mengi; Garner, Andreas, Galbraith; Chong, Greenwood

Assuming it's 9 Substitutes, there's room for one more but it has to be someone else from the current best XI (that started against Leicester on the final day). I think Greenwood would be on the bench because we don't have another striker and I think Ole would rather he got the chance to score more goals if there was the need to bring another CF on (also gives him a bit of time as the no.9). I'm not sure who the other would be, I don't expect them to be used anyway.

Laird, Mengi, Garner, and Chong I would expect to all make substitute appearances if 5 substitutions are allowed. I think this side will actually put some effort in and at least avoid defeat even if they play to an average level.

Ole said today that a simliar team that started the 1st leg will start tomorrow night. A reminder to what that starting team was.

I see Romero, Bailly, Williams, McTominay, Fred, James and Ighalo all keeping their place. Rest will be others, whoever they are. Jesse as already confirmed will probably be our new Bruno :wenger:

For all of Ole's ruthlessness when it came to selling Fellaini, Lukaku, Sanchez ect. it's quite weird that he continues to give this pretender every chance and then some more to succeed here. I really don't get it.
Do you expect him to throw him under the bus when we have potentially 6 games of the season left?

Didn’t realise we were already at the 1/4 final stage. Cheers. But still, you don’t throw players under the bus when you potentially need them for a number of matches.

No doubt OGS will address some of the player issues in the summer after we have finished the season.

We’re not at the quarters yet mate, every game is a one off match and not a 2 legged tie anymore.

Roger that. I see my confusion. Wasn’t aware they were one off games, but obviously that makes sense given they are at neutral venues.

I don't expect or want him to throw any of our players under the bus. I do not expect a player that apparently has no future at the club to be sat next to the manager before a European tie at a press conference. It gives me the impression that he's giving him another chance when it's obviously time to move him on.

Subs: Mengi, Garner, Chong, Jones etc

Doubt Williams will be risked as we'd be buggered @ LB in 1/4 final if he got injured

When did LASK last play a proper match?

Edit, just checked, 5th July. You'll batter them again even with the kids.

Slightly knackered beats not played for a month in my view.

If we win will we play the 1/4 final Tuesday or Wednesday next week?

Edit: Neither it will be Monday. No idea why I said “if” either.

3 out of the 5 goals in the 1st leg were scored from long-shots (McTominay, Fred, Maguire). So I'd play James on LW, Garner as DCM as they are big shooting threats from those positions. On the other hand, Fred and McTominay scored 3 of the 5 goals in the first leg, so play the pair in midfield?

I think you might be looking at the wrong game there. The goalscorers were Ighalo, James, Mata, Greenwood, and Andreas. The game you're thinking of is the Club Brugge game I believe.

Ole has said similar team to the first leg which was:

    Romero
    Williams Bailly Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Mata Fernandes James
    Ighalo

Shaw isn't fit so there will have to be at least one change at full back (Fosu-Mensah, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka). Lingard has been confirmed to start, so he probably replaces Fernandes.

Ideally, Dalot & Fosu-Mensah would both start and if Jones is fit he'd start over Maguire. But I can see it being quite a strong back line with Maguire playing.

    I would go with:

    Romero
    Dalot Bailly Jones Fosu-Mensah
    McTominay Fred
    Mata Lingard James
    Ighalo

    I am expecting:

    Romero
    Fosu-Mensah Bailly Maguire Williams
    McTominay Fred
    Mata Lingard James
    Ighalo

Is Ethan Laird available for this? Dalot is a bust and I'd much rather see Laird get a run.

Hope Ole doesn't play all the dreck from the start as it will be a shite watch.

    Romero - TFM - Maguire - Bailly - Williams - Fred - McT - Lingard - Mata - Ighalo - James

Thats what I expect. But i'd hope for Laird in for Williams and Mengi in for Maguire

Why do we need Maguire? Even if we concede 2 or 3 (which is nearly impossible against such a low level opposition) - so what?

I’m going to be disappointed if Ole decides not to give some young players the chance tonight as he won’t ever get a better opportunity than being 5-0 up. Laird should get a chance and honestly I’d think about Mengi too. I’d also like to see Garner and Chong come on and get an opportunity for at least 30 mins, preferably more. I see absolutely no point in seeing Fosu-Mensah or Periera, players that clearly have no future here.

    I think the team will be ;

Romero, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Laird, Williams, Fred, Mctominay, Mata, Lingard, James, Ighalo.

Hardest to predict is the back 4.

Maguire has played pretty much every match so it might be him and Bailly as CB's.
