Didn't look or sound like fireworks in the original fire. More like small arms munitions.
The after effects of the big explosion looks terrible, just hope not too many more than what's already been quoted are dead and the injured are just cuts from flying glass and going to be okay.

Was huge indeed - though the Enschede fireworks explosion years back was much bigger looking (at least I think that’s how I remember it)

It’s something a shit load more explosive than fireworks, we’ve all seen a firework warehouse fire before and it doesn’t resemble Hiroshima.

Red smoke is a giveaway that this isn't just a fireworks explosion.
I love all the experts in this thread saying how this isn't fireworks, when you've got actual experts saying it very much looks like a fireworks + something else explosion.

This video is the closest one I've seen so far and doesn't sound like multitudes of fireworks exploding, but I'm no expert. I recall a fireworks warehouse in Sussex on fire around 10 years ago and didn't sound similar.

Yeah, ammunition doesn't make those bright sparks. While it will pop, it's usually magnesium, a common additive to fireworks, that burns bright white like the sparking we see before the main blast.

The preliminary fire was either fireworks or small arms munitions igniting. The giant explosion was almost certainly this ammonium nitrate store. Look at any video of ammonium nitrate explosions and you'll see the smoke colour is identical to today's.
