What’s going on with Raw @Ekeke ?

Hearing some shoot style tournament going to be announced and a new stable is going to be formed.
According to Meltzer they were afraid Raw's rating would set an all time record low rating and this was the answer. Shane with something and hyping up a new faction that they probably havent even decided who is in yet, to feud with production equipment

It may have worked in terms of the number... I dont think people liked it though so if it did work it's likely for 1 week

Decided to watch a few old school WWF matches last night on Dailymotion when the caracters were larger than life and the wrestling was barely passable. Watched the Rude v Warrior matches from Wrestlemania 5 and Summerslam 89. Rude was an incredible heel and made the Warrior look as good as he ever has despite him dropping him on his head multiple times. Trump at ringside too for the Wrestlemania bout is weird to see in hindsight.

Akira Tozawa’s gimmick makes me uncomfortable.

They’re lucky there’s no crowd as well, that Dominick promo would have gotten massive WHAT chants.

It did work just about this week.

Nobody is going to be interested in a faction with the loser club like Ali, Ricochet and Cedric. They all good wrestlers, but booking has made them out to be stupid, so who is going to take them seriously?

Pritchard is worse than Heyman.

The booking of Kevin Owens has been shambolic. He’s now reuniting friends and they probably going to feed him to Orton next week. Guy could be next face if they let him be.

Bruce books for Vince right? I mean no long term plans, no star making. Anybody that is young and talented is not being booked as a star.
AEW has been great at that so far. Wish they were opposite Raw rather than NXT (or better yet, on its own day).

also did Marty Jannetty confess to murder? 2020 is odd

He did seem to but he's posted some outlandish shit on facebook before. Might just be more attention seeking behaviour, worrying none the less

Bruce is a Vince yes man. He'll just do whatever Vince thinks is a good idea

Really good Dynamite this week bookended by two great matches (the 12 man tag and Mox vs Allin).

Sammy fecked up Matt Hardy pretty bad by the looks of that gash in his head. The chairshot seemed a bit reckless but the 450 splash through the table looked cool af.

Bryan Alvarez is a cnut.

The Fiend is such trash, now we got some romance bullshit with Alexa. Look at Abadon, that's how you do horror in wrestling...

She is unsettling to look at!

That’s got to be some sort of record for the speed at which they screwed up an almost Interesting storyline.

Pre recorded footage from last week as well.

I dunno, I think WWE does horror in wrestling perfectly. Its just they're trying to do entertainment and all we get is the horror

Anyone see Bianca belair attack zelina live on twitch? Need more shit like that. Between this and Coles public freakout I'm enjoying these blurred lines angles.

I think wwe always has great ideas amongst the crap
The issue is always the follow up and how they run something into the ground or just completely abandon it

Like wwe underground. I actually thought it was decent and a good way to use people who aren't featured (hence why I'm surprised hurt club took over so soon as they've been involved in stories on raw for a long while now)

Think it would have been great for somebody like gable who has been made fun of. But imagine on that him being allowed to be himself and show of his amateur style against bigger opponents

But yeah I've sidetracked. I like them attempting different things. It's what follows that I sometimes wonder why get invested

It was still very WWE-ified even though it was a home invasion and off TV! Zelina saying something like "What the feck?" when she saw Bianca would've sold it but instead she immediately switched to WWE acting mode.

You'd think they'd have learned from the Cole angle that social media angles dont work. How many viewers did she even have on twitch, im guessing less than 3k

Jericho did a fozzy gig in front of a live crowd last night...

I love Jericho but he's showing himself up to be a bit of an idiot these days.

I honestly dont even think he is half as valuable to AEW as he was originally.

I think Cody /Bucks and mainly Moxley are the big draws for them now. Pretty sure there lowest rating for the last few weeks came when Jericho was in a singles main event with OC?

He still wins his rating in the key demo. Total people it was down yeah, but the majority of people watching wrestling are 50+ and advertisers dont consider that worth a lot.

Jericho is still very important to AEW.

This was obviously a ridiculous decision by him to do those shows.

At least some people are being careful

Really think it’s sad to see what’s Jerichos become.

He was one of my favourites growing up, but after the KO feud he just went downhill.

His initial Omega feud at NJPW was cool and shocking, but then he started wearing make up and the pain maker etc just became so cringe.

He never transitioned to a mainstream star like I think he thought he should of. A young Jericho coming through now would end up in Hollywood.

Jericho being a cnut shocker.

One of the all time greats but believes his own hype and is a bit (a lot!) of a moron outside wrestling.

It's sad to see all these antics. I've met the guy and he was a true gent. Didn't have that aura of snobbishness most celebs have, and this was during his peak run in the WWE.

Sad news. Didn’t he have a leg amputated few years ago?

As for Jericho, the fozzy stuff makes me cringe. His books were good but I believe the second book had alternate chapters of his wrestling career and music career. His music career is of little interest for me and I found incredibly dull. He also seems to believe they were way better and respected than they actually are.

I’ve met him after a gig (he came to our pub). Nice guy and down to earth though

I’ve stated before I’m a bit of a fair weather fan but honestly I’ve never seen anything from Jericho ever to explain why he is regarded so highly. I actually normally find him very average and boring and end up fast forwarding any segment he is in.

I don't know now but back when I was watching it, he was one of the most entertaining guys in the business. His mic skills let him go toe to toe with the rock and his wrestling ability meant since amazing matches with the likes of HHH and Benoit.

He basically had the whole package.

Entertainment. He's great at it.

Also one of the best WWF debuts ever

Dominik's initiation...

Poor bastard  .
Hell of a beating

Also, it looks like the entire Retribution thing was so they could turn the lights off and pretend Orton punted Flair. Not that it makes sense anyway because they didnt firebomb the production equipment this week, they were feuding with windows instead which wouldnt cause the lights to go off and on. Pretty sure they'll just end up being Evolve wrestlers anyway

I've been listening to Steve Austin and Something to Wrestle podcasts lately to mainly hear about things during the attitude era. I really enjoy the Steve Austin show. Any other podcasts recommendations for the attitude era period (that are available on Spotify)?
