Don’t disagree with you there. I see Bayern winning 3-1. Our midfield is too slow and I wish we would play puig more.
Yep. Your team looks really sub par. 8-18 shots against Napoli at home is pure madness. But nothing new given mid table la Liga sides aren't to frequently match your lot for chances.

Just hope Bayern keep up and beat City too. We could get a PSG Vs City final this year which I'm definitely not tuning into.

Atletico on penalties for the final after City dominating them for the vast majority of the game.

That's my prediction.
They’ll have to win in ET at least. Oblak is the best in the world, but he really cannot save pens. He dives out of the way like Dave.

That scheduling is an utter joke

The PSG/Atalanta/Leipzig/Atletico bracket is way too favored. They get more rest in-between quarters/semis AND more rest until the final
I do not see Friday/Saturday to Wednesday - and Wednesday to Sunday - as a problem.

Let's see it like this... - If there is not much harmony in the PSG team and they have to be in a hotel together between quarter final at Wednesday and Semifinal at Tuesday - that time span can get very long...

Atalanta can beat PSG, especially as the Parisians will be without Verratti, Mbappe and Snake. No Ilicic (pity the lad, can’t play in the biggest game of his life due to his wife cheating) won’t help, but their style of play can cut through this PSG team.

They’ll even make the final if RB beat Atlético. However, RB won’t, and Atletico is literally the kryptonite to teams like Atalanta. Perfect defensively, cheating, slowing play down constantly and good on the counter. This could be Atletico’s year.

Keep in mind Barca were sitting deep in the second half by design. 12 of Napoli’s 18 shots were in the second half when Barca let Napoli play with the ball. I hated the tactic but it worked. If we show up like we did in the first half we can give it a go against Bayern for sure as their defense isn’t amazing either. But their fullbacks will be troublesome.

I don’t know how you feel about this game, but as a Barca fan since 2005, I have never felt like more of an underdog before.

Even when we faced that unbelievable Bayern side of 2013, I felt more confident only because we had the aura of Xavi/Iniesta

Against Milan in 2006 we were underdogs because of Milan’s experience, but we still had a good chance and a great team (and we ended up winning).

I have never felt like an underdog against Madrid in the Messi era.

This just feels different
I’ve only been a fan since 2008 but I agree with you. I felt like big under dogs in 2013 since we were so injured at the time. Setien has to work on making more subs and earlier in the match too. Was nice to see FDJ have such a great match.

Barca's bench is something else: Neto, Monchu, Puig, Pena, Jandro, Reis, Mingueza, Firipo, Fati, Araujo & de la Fuente

it's neutral ground so I don't they'll get destroyed like Chelsea, but I also don't think they will trouble Bayern much. I see a game similar to France - Argentina, where Bayern will be clear and deserving winner, even if it's only one goal separating them in the end.

If there’s ever going to a PSG v City final, then this year behind closed doors would be the perfect setting for it.

What will actually happen to Atlético? Can they still play?

Real Madrid
Let Liverpool replace them is the only logical call or Real Madrid for another Spanish side.
Liverpool and Real Madrid are eliminated, they have no right to play in this competition this year anymore.

I think it will count as a loss for Atletico and that's about it.

Whoever won the game
We should replace Atletico Madrid by Red Star Belgrade or Olympiakos. Red and white stripes.

You realize Busquets, Vidal were suspended right?

Good bye Atletico.
What happened?

Edit: Aw shit, just read it. There is hope though. If they can field a team of uninfected players (easy to do testings nowadays) they should be allowed to play. Otherwise, Leipzig should directly qualify for semis.

They will test the whole group tomorrow again and I assume those not being tested positive will fly out - unless there are many confirmed cases until their game

If everyone else gets the all clear tomorrow I assume they will still be allowed to play. If they can’t play then RB Leipzig will get a bye

I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that Lyon will lose. They played eachother twice last season with them drawing 2-2 in France and Lyon winning 2-1 at the Etihad.

Unfortunately for Lyon, they don't have Fekir now, though.

One of Bayern, City or PSG will take it.
Seems that way, the 3 biggest favourites currently. I still have doubts about PSG, they always bottle it. If City make it to the final, they will win it. I think Bayern is the strongest team currently but because they face a Messi Barcelona, they have higher odds than City.

I hope Atletico Madrid can finally win it. Big fan of Diego Simeone and he deserved it after coming so close. In all likely, it will be a City/Bayern Munich vs PSG/Atletico Madrid final.

Got a feeling they'll be a few underdog victories. Going for:

Atalanta
Leipzig
Bayern
Man City

Winner of Bayern/City should see out the tournament though.

Not as bad as DDG, he’s saved 8 penalties since de Gea last saved one and his record is saved 14/45 while DDG is 11/59

City are clear favourites at this point. Just because Bayern are playing Barcelona and are only 60-65% to progress.

Did not know about the 8 pens stat, as I’ve not seen him save one recently since against Muller in 2016. Still think he’s quite poor at them though, despite rivalling all-time GK greats in other attributes.

Anyway, not happy about Atlético’s seemingly imminent omission. They were fantastic and extremely hospitable to me and my family when we watched them play Alaves in 2018, thus I’ve adopted them as a distant second club. Hope the CL arranges something, but I doubt they will. They had a great chance too, as it is extremely difficult to beat them in a one-off game. Just ask pool.

Bayern are the favourites, followed by the oil clubs.

Bayern, and others
I love the modus. If it was up to me, they should do this tournament every year. I know, it means less TV time in total then, but I think the games should attract much larger TV audiences per match.

Bayern will beat Barcelona and then hopefully pummel City.

I'd be fine with anyone but City (obviously) and PSG winning. And those two could well make for what would be a disgusting final. I'd love to watch a different final this year, Altetico Vs Lyon or something like that.

Lyon will knock City out.
These posts annoy me to an unreasonable extent.

Even if you predicted the tie to go the other way, it would still be bold to state it as a certainty. Declaring that a completely mediocre Lyon side will knock City out, without as much as an "I think" or an "in my opinion" - if I weren't lazy as feck, I'd start bookmarking these posts and then rub them in people's faces afterwards.
