The attacking senses that I like from him have been slowly faded. A couple of times he standed there when Rashford had a ball and there was only the RB and it took him some time to slowly made an overlap.
He even lost his trademark run inside the field that he brought from U23 to the first team when he first broke in.
The thing I hate the most about Young when he still played for us was how he was too slow to make decision when pressed. It ended up with him clearing the ball into dangerous position. The 1st goal Messi scored at NC was the example. Williams now has the same pattern that he get ball to his right foot and try to pass it to marked players. Happen too many times.

He’s a right back that can cover both sides. Our go-to alternative at left back (when Shaw is inevitably out for three months again) he is not.

I think he's been pretty impressive this season for a 19 year old fullback, arguably playing on the wrong side of the pitch. I think we should persevere with him - he might come good.

I think Brandon did a lot well. We all need to remember where the kid was coming from. Most people wouldn't have thought he would be playing first team football last time this year. He's forced his way into the reckoning and he coped decently tonight. Although, as the game wore on it was clear Copenhagen were targeting him.

Lindelof was shouting something at him in the end.

I hope we don't have serious problems with Williams because Shaw is f*cked by injuries enough already.

Jeez some of the criticism here I feel is a bit harsh. He's a young lad who for me did an OK job tonight. Also didn't help playing behind Rashford tonight who gave him no additional help what so ever.

I thought he was fine tonight.
In fact, the more I see of him, the more I like him. He likes a header which I always look for in a full back. Looking forward to seeing his development next season.

Not seeing it. People confuse high energy with being a great attacker.

Poor tonight, but he’s very young so give him a break and hope he learns from it.

I think he is good at attacking but he didn't contribute much offensively this game. Played more reserved it seemed like. Not much penetration and certainly no good crosses.

Had a decent game but was a bit naive defensively at times. He got caught out quite a few times with players running in behind him. Lindelof absolutely bollocked him for it at one stage

Both Bissaka and him are shit at attacking. I don’t know if switching Williams to the right wing might make him attack more and make those overlapping runs.

He's not a left back. Simple as that. Play him on the right side. And FFS would someone cut his bangs? He spends more time pushing the hair out of his eyes than he does kicking the ball...

He was a weak link in defence. Awful defending whole match
Looked completely out of his depth tonight, still have hope for him but he’s a defensive liability presently.
Every opportunity they had came down his side. He looks a long way from ready to be a regular for Man United.
Was a difficult night for him but I thought he had at least one or two good moments.

But yeah overall one he'll want to forget.
Worst game I’ve seen him play for us
Maybe nerves
Poor game from him
He was really poor. He's still not ready to be in second spot in his position at the moment.
Defensively poor and giving us no natural width going forward. I can't be dealing with a left back cutting onto his right foot every time. Between him and AWB there's barely any crosses coming in the box. None of quality anyway

Well because he wasn't outstanding, he had a few good moments /tackles as I mentioned, but really struggled at times as well as they clearly targeted him. They got a lot of joy down his side.

He also didn't contribute anything going forward.

You were watching a different game to me then, they targeted both our fullbacks and I don't think i've seen AWB getting beat 1-on-1 so often all season.

We all have different demands and wishes for our players. If that’s outstanding for you is up to you. For me a defender shouldn’t be dribbled and caught out of position so many times as he was. First half was decent however.

I thought his effort was outstanding last night. 18/19 years old 120 mins in that heat and he was 110% the entire game. Made a few errors but so did Maguire, AWB and Bailey. If you’re looking for a defensive liability look no further than Bailey. For me Williams and Martial men of the match.

His positioning is the weakest part of his game by a country mile.

He's very good in lots of areas, but he needs to learn to position himself better at the top level. He gets dragged about lots when he's got 2-3 players running at him, it will take time.

The fact he's stepped up from youth football to PL/European football in the space of a year is incredible.

I thought he did ok or in the context of him being 19 then he did great. But I will be shtting myself if we have to play Wolves and he's up against Traore. Basically he's doing a decent job at back up but he is miles off the level of Shaw which is not his fault - he's 19. But it doesnt change the fact.

outstanding is a huuuuuuge stretch. he had good moments but got to agree with the consensus he wasn’t great.

Seems to kill off so many of our attacks and just doesn’t know what to do in the more intricate moments. He also has developed this thing where he gets beat like he wasn’t even there which has become too much of a regular occurance recently.

Had a good clearing header at one point and although I think that sliding tackle was stupid and reckless he still came out with the ball.

Not the first time either he has been chewed out by one of the CB’s. It’s all a learning curve and I’m sure he’ll improve and be a decent squad player for us going forward.

Once Falk switched sides and Williams started marking him, it was quite sad to watch. Saying he was "outstanding" must be a troll surely.

Hallelujah,, somebody that actually watched the game and wasn't sat/stood next to an inflatable Luke Shaw.

He wasn’t outstanding, but he knew he was in a game. Personally I’d like to see him supporting Rashford more, I think we’re very visibly worse without Luke Shaw. Our left side loses an awful lot of potency. The kid is decent though, with plenty of room for development.
