Commentator just working out Wolves tactics seem to be sit back and try and hit the opposition on the counter.

I mean it's not like Wolves do this against everyone or anything...
It’s weird that they get still get so much praise for playing decent football. Would imagine their “surprise” good first season back in the Premier League has influenced causal fans to just repeat this myth still.

Definitely worth praise for where they’ve finished in the league though.

Man. City game. They also won 3-2 at Spurs.

Generally they have interesting matches against the other major clubs, just seems the Man. United games are bore fests for some reason.

Thought before kick off this could easily go to penalties and aside form the early Jimenez miss haven't seen much to suggest otherwise, two very tactically strong teams here that don't give out much space.
Because they stick 11 men behind the ball against us every time?

They're a good side, incredibly well drilled and fair play to them for that. I'm not saying they aren't a good side.

They're boring as feck though.

Sevilla much better team here. Wolves have been depressing to watch and can imagine they would try depress us to death in the semis too.

Absolutely no one wants to see us and Wolves play one another again

The CL is a glorified FA Cup set to music

Wolves have not offered anything this half. They've defended well though.

I'm not sure why anyone think Sevilla's way of play "plays into our hands". We will be granted very little time on the ball.

We've played them three times this year.

Jan: 49% (Matic/Pereira/Mata)
Jan FA Cup: 43% (Fred/Matic/Greenwood)
Feb: 36% (Pereira/Fred/Bruno)

Safe to say they will park all the buses with Pogba/Bruno and our current front three.
Was going to put something like that but I'm glad you've provided stats.

Wolves parked the bus when our lineup was shite, so now we've got Pogba/Bruno/Martial/Rashford/Greenwood they're going to be even more negative and miserable to play.

Well they do that v other teams but what is different is Spurs break them down early and then Wolves come roaring back and you have a fantastic open game:

And I know Man. City were down to 10 men but that was a fantastic comeback from 2 down.

As we know Man. United aren't great at scoring past teams defending in numbers so yeah the games do drag a bit between the two, usually more at Old Trafford as they played well in the FA cup v you at Molineux last season.

Wolves scored 51 PL goals, that's midtable...and they play with 5 defensive players. They are very solid shape and disciplined as a squad. It's very rare that they blow teams away, but keep themselves in matches because it's difficult to break them down. They do attack very directly up the flanks, with a very good/strong CF in Jimenez, and rely on individual brilliance from Traore and other players who are in the counter.

It's always a grind playing against them because their shape and discipline come first. They are a difficult side to beat...they lost 9 times in the league this past year. Only Liverpool (3), United (8), and City (9) lost fewer or the same matches.

Granted they will but we won’t have 75% of possession Like Sevilla have had either

I think I agree.

One of my Liverpool supporting mates threw me this really obnoxious message saying "Williams against Traore will end in humiliation" and I just got really defensive and defiantly stated that Williams will 100% deal with him so yeah.. I hope Sevilla win too
Didn’t Williams pocket Traore last time they faced one another? In fact, Nuno moved the big man to the left flank. Tell your Dipper mate to feck off.

To be honest I hope that Wolves win, I would not particularly fancy our chances against this Sevilla team. We would end up trying to play counter attacking football against them as well.

United have a very good counter attacking setup and the more direct they are, which means faster transitions and passing into space moving forward, usually gives United the advantage. If Sevilla want to play a high line against United, who usually have a good defensive shape about them, they are very susceptible to getting exposed by Martial, Greenwood, etc from one pass by Pogba or Bruno.
