How many Dortmund fans have registered on this forum since JadON got some traction?

I'm not really surprised, but a bit amused by how defensive a lot of them are, and why they would spend so much time arguing on a Manchester United forum. Have any fellow Caffers registered on different BVB forums to argue about Jadon Sancho? It's... weird?

Merry go round definitely starting soon. Could also be...

Chong > Werder

Rashica > Villa

Grealish > United

Depay > Dortmund

Sancho > United
Yep, I think the chess pieces will start falling in place once the European tournaments finish.

I can’t ever remember a club talking so openly about one side of a transfer when it’s not categorically fact a counterpart has made a bid.

The facts are he’s Dortmund’s player; they don’t have to sell but doing interviews with all & sundry about him going nowhere is overkill; if the transfer was a non-starter surely they need to move on.
It's bizarre. They come across as a really small time club that's trying to make the most of its moment in the sun.

Its ridiculous. Its not just Dortmund themselves overreacting to every story but their fans on here.
Its the passive aggressive nature of attacking fans but not directly, just broad posts in general.
Its cowardly.

I doubt any caftards have, but if you look at reddit and twitter a lot of our fans have been insufferable. I’d imagine you’d be pissed off if you had mountains of fans speaking as if Jadon was a sure thing and that he hated Dortmund.

Had a feeling they wouldn't like that when they were on BT Sport basically saying Dortmund were bluffing. Bound to ruffle a few feathers that was.

I wish they didn't ask former players their opinion on live TV. It's not like they know feck all about it anyway.

Even though I don’t really mind them having such strict parameters to be met for the deal to go through, it is crazy how proud they are that he’s staying for a year. I mean they know they’re going to sell him next year. You wouldn’t hear of bigger clubs beaming with pride about keeping their star player for just one more year. You should expect them to stay long term.

Sure, but I think it's very different to actually register here than to argue a bit on Twitter or Reddit.
I mean, if BVB were interested in buying Rashford, I wouldn't register on YellowRestaurant.net to discuss it and act all condecending/defensive about it. But each to their own, I guess.

I see it as them baiting us to come and get him basically.

they know now is the best chance for them to get some serious cash.

"oh no please don't offer to buy, especially at the amount we want. we will definitely refuse no matter what hehe"

I see what you’re saying. Although I’d like to see how active they are on the rest of the site. If they’re all talking in the football forum on other topics then I’m all for it. I love having oppo fans on here.

They’re weirdos, got the same small-time loser mentality of their club. Seems like giving it out over not selling their star player is about as good as it gets for them. Pathetic bunch to be honest.

Agreed. I love it as well. Many great posters on here support other teams, and it makes for some very interesting discussions about football, and many also contribute a lot in the general forums as well.

I might also be "fooled" a bit about the few new members who've been quite vocal in this specific thread, perhaps it's not even that many.

My problem with this line of thinking is that we have built ourselves a bit of momentum similar to what Mourinho did in his first two seasons. We are genuinely on the up but our players are clearly tired and I'm just not sure they will be able to keep this up next season without something happening to the club to bring that extra boost of excitement. Having someone like sancho come in is a real statement and will show clear direction and put a bit of fear in us. It is very possible we go into the season without improving our first 11 and end up dead on our feet and unable to progress past what we have done this season.
Yep. I agree that we should keep the momentum going and we have to buy new player(s) for next season. So I didn't mean that we shouldn't buy more. I simply think that if Sancho doesn't happen, then we can look elsewhere for cheaper alternatives. Grealish, Rice, vdB don't cost english transfer record but will improve the squad further. Actually, they will still be quite expensive.. Grealish especially, so not exactly average players, far from that. They won't solve the right wing problem but they will solve other problems.. we need more depth as well.

That's the quote from yesterday.

Dortmund's top target is Memphis Depay and Watzke comes out today and says that basically they are losing 4 million euros per game and that there is no money for transfers this summer.

To me, that sounds like a possible excuse if a big bid would come in. "We couldn't say no, finances blah blah" and to sign their transfer targets. They are in need of some reinforcements too so I wouldn't say its that far fetched that it may still happen.

All this posturing in the media reeks of them wanting to set the foot down that Sancho to United isn't some type of foregone conclusion and that they set the standards for the deal.

At this point, I just wish it was done, either way, how many more weeks of this being dragged on with being on/off.

All the excitement of the prospective transfer has been milked and now we just want a definitive answer.

But this is the problem, we have made this assumptions in an hour. Surely, Manutd must have run models to know based on worst case if they can afford Sancho.

If they can't just move on.
But still no words from the United unlike Dortmund who's been chatty, so mayybbeee something is happening. As I said as long as the window is still open, there's still a chance.

Coming out and saying you're skint is 1) giving an excuse to sell Sancho. 2) reiterating that they want a large chunk up front

And they said they will increase Sancho's wages. Zorc is full of shite. I hope he gets exposed once again. All his talks were for negotiation purposes.

This thread is on life support for decent discussion. Sanchoff and let’s focus on other targets.

People often talk about these chains.
But they never happen like this
Literally, the only example I can think of is the Neymar money filtering through football (which of course Dortmund were the biggest beneficiaries of).

Juve signed Higuain with Pogba money
Lille just signed David with Oshimen money

Good attempt at reviving it bud ;)

It's the quiet before the storm, in some respects I'd rather no news rather than bullsh*t news from journo's rehashing the same rubbish that they (haven't) been told.

Surely if they sell now after all the fuss they and their players have created and talked about Sancho, they will look like proper mugs.

Who would ever take them seriously?

Dortmund categorically saying this is not happening anymore, player happy there and it’s just the tabloid media looking for quotes to keep muppets hanging on due to our fame/fans desperation to improve plus the transfer was so bloody obvious. United who are slow in the market probably think it’s still happening once they eventually pony up the asking but Dortmund set a deadline so they could have their squad together for maximum prep for the new season which is also what we should be doing. Ed and the glazers have dropped the ball yet again by not getting serious fast enough and making smaller offers due to the pandemic and when it’s all said and done I have a bad feeling It’s going to be another summer of what ifs for Utd supporters. We currently aren’t seriously linked with anyone else who’s going to improve us enough to challenge next year.

When stadiums reopen are the glazers going to charge the fans less for season tickets because of pandemic or will the cost of jerseys fall? Not at all.120 in instalments was a price which took the pandemic into consideration and within a certain timeframe would have been too good for them to turn down but we tried to use covid to get the price down even more and Dortmund have said feck that we can get at least 120 or more for him next season and they will. They don’t desperately need the money like some posters have been saying. They are well run and efficient. They’ve their business done keeping sancho and bringing in Bellingham one of the brightest talents in Europe. They should have been OUR business almost done too but here we are. To a lesser extent the same thing happened with Bellingham. Dortmund were saying for months they had him but our fans keep hanging on till the official announcement and United kept quiet. The media just keeps us invested because there’s lots of us. People need to realise that we are badly run and there are no surprises it’s just the way things are. Glazers unfortunately for them still need to invest a lot more because they hired Woodward who’s cocked everything up and wasted most of their money the last 7 years. They either back him properly to fix it or let him be the fall guy at the end of the day. It’s ole and the fans I feel most sorry for if they feck this summer up. I also think if we don’t seriously invest then there’s a big risk Pogba won’t sign a new deal. As I’ve said before Bruno’s panic signing in January can only cover up so much mismanagement. He’s one player and he looks wrecked already.

Dortmund - sorted, smart business done. Fans appeased. United looking badly run and their fans waiting for the surprise that never happens.

Is there any bit of the the slightest indication that he actually wants to come here?
I disagree it's been reported via both German / English sources that the player is happy to come. The difference with Sancho kicking up a fuss as a justification just speaks about his professionalism. We witnessed the same thing with Ronaldo only Sir Alex knew he wanted to leave and he didn't down tools.

I personally do not think Zorc is somebody risking his positive name by coming out with such a clear statement if this is not 100 % sure. For this summer I am pretty sure Sancho will not come to us.

Be interesting to see how this plays out now. I'd say it's 60/40 he stays, unless Zorc and Watzke can justify the sale after their "definitely stays" quotes. I'd say they cant, they'll look mugs

But on a side note, one or 2 posters in particular need to have a lie down and stop getting so ratty and arsey when someone posts that this deal may not happen. Or it's off etc

I get that you want Sancho to sign, why wouldnt you, hes quality. But I think some are getting desperate regarding it now, and not just to sign him, but also as a personal mission to gloat to the Dortmund fans. Who understandably are going to have a pop when they see users assume Sancho is determined to leave; and their CEO and DoF are lying/posturing.

What do you think will happen the next time a club comes in for one of their players, and they say the same thing? Even their own players would think the same.
