Hell of a beating

Also, it looks like the entire Retribution thing was so they could turn the lights off and pretend Orton punted Flair. Not that it makes sense anyway because they didnt firebomb the production equipment this week, they were feuding with windows instead which wouldnt cause the lights to go off and on. Pretty sure they'll just end up being Evolve wrestlers anyway
I took it more of them taking advantage of the two ongoing storylines to blend them for that moment. That absolutely cannot be the climax of the retribution storyline.

I'm sure whatever they do go with will be shit, but it cannot be that.

I've been listening to Steve Austin and Something to Wrestle podcasts lately to mainly hear about things during the attitude era. I really enjoy the Steve Austin show. Any other podcasts recommendations for the attitude era period (that are available on Spotify)?
Don't know if it's on Spotify but I absolutely LOVE The Attitude Era Podcast. Three Irish guys. They go through all the PPVs and are hilarious.

Second this. Great for reassessing a few things about the attitude era, how some things weren't as good as you remember and how some guys were underrated.

I’m guessing Braun took a quick exit after he got dem hands so he could go find a quiet place to bash one out.

She slapped the crap out of him, but feck me this storyline is weak. Only thing to save it is a full heel turn for Braun and maybe Bliss. Maybe do a double cross on the fiend.

It’s dragged on way too long. Forget a double turn. Just put the belt back on the Fiend, which they should never have taken from him and have him feud with Hardy next.

I would even merge both belts. I don’t know why WWE went back to creating two championships for separate brands. Back when they first did it they had the star power, so made sense. I hope Asuka match turns into a triple threat and she merges both belts. It’s the same with mens tag belts, we just get the same feuds over and over. Just let the champions appear on both brands. Feud on one brand per month.

Yeah, backstage didn't like the idea of a WCW guy coming in talking with that much disrespect. I loved it though.
Wasn’t it to do with his ‘crying’ faces. Jim Ross told him that it was too old fashioned and made him look weak.

Chris Jericho gets heat
Chris Jericho’s WWE debut in Chicago was magical. The company had a countdown clock running through much of the summer that finally culminated on August 9, 1999. The countdown hit zero that night and it was revealed that it was all leading to Y2J. (Get it? Because late ’90s.) Jericho looked like an instant superstar in the segment as he dueled on the microphone with The Rock and the crowd ate it up. Jericho’s second night in the company in Milwaukee did not go nearly as well.

Jericho was told to interrupt one of the top stars in the company, The Undertaker. The longtime WWE star was the veteran leader of the locker room and one of the most respected people backstage. He was the one guy in the company that you didn’t want to cross. The Undertaker was teaming with Big Show and calling himself the “Personification of Evil” at this time. In front of 14,178 at the Bradley Center, The Undertaker cut a long, strange promo about riding motorcycles in the desert and leaving Big Show to die. It was weird, but worst of all it was boring.

When Jericho subsequently called The Undertaker “the personification of boring” in his promo, he was in big trouble. As Jericho tells in his book Undisputed:

He knew it was boring, the crowd knew it was boring, Vince knew it was boring, Funaki knew it was boring. So when I came out and called him on it, I made things even worse because I was kicking him when he was down.
Taker responded to my claims by saying that he had more shower time than I had ring time. At first I thought he was bragging about his personal hygiene (maybe he was a clean and freshly scrubbed Deadman), until I figured out that he was really saying that I was wet behind the ear and should know my role and shut the feck up. Backstage afterwards, I walked past Shawn Michaels, who glared at my incredulously and offered the following advice: “The next time you cut a promo, maybe you want to avoid calling the biggest star in the company and the leader of the locker room boring.”
Jericho would eventually stop pissing people off and become one of the biggest stars in the world, but his first WWE Milwaukee appearance would prove to be one of the lower points of his run.

Its a good thing these womens tag matches in the AEW womens tag tournament werent on Dynamite. Some could have passed for weaker matches on Dark but the overall quality was pretty bad up till the finals next week. Tay Conti and Anna Jay are the only ones who come out of it so far looking better than before the tournament and thats because Tay didnt show much in NXT and Anna Jay just has a great look and is good for someone so green.

I’ll have to read his book again but apart from the heat, I’m certain he was pulled up up on his facial expressions coming across as weak and old fashioned. If you recall, he almost is blubbering when The Rock is talking.

So Renee Young is leaving WWE. Shes a good host so she probably has plenty of offers outside of wrestling. I can see her making an appearance or two in AEW even if she is working outside of wrestling, maybe as a special appearance on a few pay per views or something.

Not really watched much WWE recently but watching some of this Thunderdome show. I think it looks pretty good, Fiends entrance was very good. Just imagine if WWE’s creative team was one tenth as good as it’s production team.

The Thunderdome thing worked quite well. Certainly better than the performance centre. The pyro and the lighting were the positives. I don’t think the fans really worked, but it’s certainly the best they can do in the situation

Isn’t she getting her own cooking show. Sure she has a cooking book coming out or already out as well.

Yes. She has the cookbook and doing stuff on the food network is among many of the things Moxley mentioned she has the option of doing on his WOR interview yesterday. Also said there was no blow up moment where she just had to leave, more that it was just the end of something for her at WWE.

My god Pat McAfee :eek::eek::eek:
Forgot all about NXT XXX, was it any good?

Would have liked the Styles V Hardy match tonight rather than on Smackdown
Bayley’s booking in recently has been awful being pinned or submitted in 4 in her last 5 matches, way to go making your champ look super weak

A Takeover without the fans it's not what you want but overall a solid show.

The Fiend getting the title he should never have lost.
Great Reigns walks straight into the title picture

I hate this Thunderdome thing... think its crap.

I enjoyed Seth vs. Dominik, mainly for Seth's shit eating grin through 90% of the match.

Didn't like the roll-up win in the Orton/Drew match, think it should have been a decisive win for one of them. Was a really good match all the same though. I love 2020 Orton.

Glad the belt is off Braun, one of the worst champions in recent memory... Now get the belt on Reigns and we can have some proper title matches again.

They cut off the last replay on that. That made it look even more brutal than the live one.

Given how hard they were pushing “You’ll never see it coming” I was expecting something decent to happen.

Never thought I’d say this but thank feck Roman is back and maybe heal. Fiend is crap, Braun is not ready for a title, literally none of them worth holding a title.

Wonder what the point was with all this Alexa rubbish if you aren’t going to use it in some form for the match. I’m picturing impending 2 month rehabilitation of Braun and Bliss or some rubbish in our future.

However worst tragedy of the night. What the hell was Mandy Rose wearing. Somebody steal her gear and all they could find was a swimsuit from the old woman’s section.
