Tbh I don't understand why people are nervous. What's the point of being champion of the third and fourth best? It's not like smth big is at stake here I think. Well it's maybe just me I guess.

I only hope we'd have a good game and our lads would give it all. Win or lose, tbh not that important for me.

UTD! I am not fond of the Glazers.
I believe its going to be a really tough game. Especially if they can control the midfield. I don't fancy our midfield formation to be the one where Fernandes is so high that Matic and Pogba are isolated. I doubt that would work.

Agreed, worried Fernandes will be too far away which worries me, we will see, I really want us to win a European trophy and it would be awesome to knock out the kings of this cup on route to doing so.

I would consider we are really back on football stage if are able to beat Saville comfortably today.

4th best side in Spain. This will be anything but a comfortable game.

I'm sure this is gonna go to extra time.

Got the same feeling as a lot on here, gonna be a tough game.

On paper we are better than them, but I just don't see our players being up for it.

They should be, but they've not looked energitic or motivated for some time.

I'd love for them to prove me wrong and win this trophy, though.

I will repeat- hope we don't do the half arsed pressing. We will be put to knife.

Just keep it tight at back with a 5 man defense. Stay compact and counter.

Exactly. Can't understand the mentality of some people who think this isn't an important game. If a semi final in a European competition doesn't get the juices flowing then I fear for them in the future. 4-3 us AET ;)

It is a thing I have noticed about this site lately , the amount of posters before a big game who say that they are not that bothered if we win the game or not , be it an FA cup semi final , Europa semi final , even some big league games.

They always seem to be looking to next season , everything is next season.

We need to start living in the present and start wining things now.

Oh, they are bothered, believe me, otherwise they would not be on the Caf reading and writting. They just keep telling themselves that, so if we lose it won't be such a dissapointing feeling, cause they "were not bothered".

try watching some football instead of reading stats. Harry is miles behind Van Dijk and if you think they are even comparable then maybe football isn’t the sport for you.
I bet I watch more football than you, mate. Maguire is United´s most underrated player; by the fans, that is.

It’s fine to think that but Harry > Van Dijk is not a valid opinion.

I sink Sevilla have more football heritage.
That's why we lost. Our manager kept saying sink, sink, most of the players thought he wanted us to go down.

Did he actually say Sevilla had more football heritage than us? I was so furious at the time I didn’t watch any media after the game & have never seen it since.

If he did he should have been sacked on the spot. Dropped Pogba for both legs if I recall correctly.

Many in the United fan base seem to underestimate what Van Dijk brought to that Pool team.
Klopp is just a German Brendan Rodgers without Van Dijk.

Maguire is good, but If there is a choice between the two, always Van Dijk. The guy is a beast in defence and a goal threat in the set pieces.

I hope our midfielders stay quite compact for this one. I don't have a good feeling about the midfield battle if Matic plays 3rd CB and Bruno plays second striker again.

    I’m still undecided on that.

On one hand, if we win, I’ll be ecstatic and excited for the final

But if we lose, I can complain on Twitter for 3 hours about Solskjaer being a PE teacher..
Good, man. Wise man said, don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Unless of course, you only have one egg, or the basket is really big.

A most embarrassing segment on 5Live just now.

Having, basically, suggesting that City winning the CL was a foregone conclusion yesterday, they have almost completely written off United today.

The, sensible, Spanish jorno, was actually playing down Seville's chances, saying that if we can keep Banega quiet, then we'll win.

British press hates us, bunch of cnuts.

Kick off 20.00 which is 8pm UK time. What’s the point of entering a competition if you don’t care about winning it? Winning is everything, ask Guardiola

Hopefully Julen Lopetegui is saying post match "though we always felt in the game at the end of the day we just couldn't live with Paul Pogba" I won't hold my breath on that though. Bout time we had a top top performance out of him though.
We'll need one because I think they have a good midfield, and Banega is absolute class. I remember him dictating games against prime Busquets/Xavi/Iniesta. Him and Ocampos are my biggest worries.

Complete armchair analysis since only watched a little of Sevilla but, from reading about them we need to keep a handle on Banega and also not get overrun in midfield.

The purist supporter might balk at adjusting to the other team and be all like we are Man United and they need to adjust to us, not the other way around but, frankly I've always seen United adjust their play against the quality teams to be successful. It's when we try to be too arrogant and only play the United way do we often get in trouble.

We've been pleasing to the eye playing with the front 4 with Bruno play quite high but, in a game like this either he needs to play a lot more disciplined or we need to adjust approach/formation so he can continue to play higher up the pitch. Throw in McTomminay or Fred to do a job on Banega and sacrifice one of the front 3 or go with 3 at the back to start.

I reckon you could be right there , I have no issue saying I will be in a depressed(for a few hours at least)state of mind if we lose.

OK , it is not the biggest trophy out there but it is our last chance to win something and it is still silverware and at the end of the day the highs of winning stuff is the best part about been a fan.

Banega seems to have been around forever, remember wanting United to sign him even before he moved to Europe!

They are both mood players and if they hit their straps tonight we are in big trouble.

    We all love United
We talk about keeping tabs on Banega, do they not need to do it on Pogba and Bruno themselves? Let them worry about us and not big up Banega like he’s a peak Messi or Ronaldo

Isn’t Benega good in 2013? He’s still playing now?
Still playing and still dominating midfields. Hopefully, regarding the latter, that changes tonight :D

I remember him playing at Old Trafford in 2010(?) for Valencia. For a while he was a dream signing of mine.

I don't think we will win this. Actually we won't unfortunately. We have a very poor record against Spanish teams and Sevilla has an excellent record against English teams. The only one time we got past was one of the weakest team in La Liga in Celta Vigo which we barely scraped past and almost got knocked out if their player had put away one of the chances. Sevilla is also a ridiculously good team. They finished on same points with Atletico Madrid with only 6 losses and have the 3rd best defence in the league. We're jinxed in semifinals under Ole. Expecting Sevilla to beat us 2-1 or 3-2.

We beat Barcelona at Old Trafford and went on to win the CL in 2008.

This was the sort of game that pre-injury Rashford would have taken over. His goals were so important to us, credit to the team for maintaining decent form despite his complete lack of goals in recent months, but we could go on to a new level if he could get back to his previous levels.

Yes I'm aware but apart from that game and the Celta Vigo game, I don't recall us winning so many games against Spanish teams. Historically we have a very poor record ahainst Spanish teams. Real Madrid, Barca, Atletico Bilbao, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid all come to my mind.

I just hope we put in a better performance than we did in the last game against Copenhagen. Everything else will be a bonus.

I mean, people said that about Copenhagen and then when you bother to look at the stats, they hadn't conceded more than one goal in over 30 European games.

This won't be easy, Sevilla are here on merit, they've got a good manager and they know how to grind results out. This won't be a walk over, it will be cagey and difficult
We've shown an ability to grind out games, lately, too.

 Historic records don't matter at all in upcoming games, why would what happened over 5 years ago affect the match now? Most of our players and coaching staff from then are gone, and any matches beyond that will hardly share any players or coaching staff at all :houllier:
