I thought we were pretty good until they got their second. Really dangerous in attack, should have had 3 or 4, defended well bar the goals, second one a horror show. It's a European semi, you have to take your chances and resist putting stuff on a plate for the opposition.

No catastrophe. 3 semis and 3rd in the league represents a fair return for where we are now. We need to be better next season.

Massively disappointing. This season isn't a success. We did the bare minimum which is top 4. Defending was poor. A CB signing has to be number 1 priority even over Sancho. We should at the minimum sign both.
Next season the standards should be raised. We need to contend and win a title or Ole should be replaced with an elite coach.

Way more than just two mistakes
2 mistakes weren’t the only significant errors.

A forward clearly out of sorts should have been subbed when he was booked.
Missing chances and saying the keeper was great? He wasn’t. We were poor in front of goal.
Poor officiating as well.

Bad finishing by United.
2 moments of poor defending by United.
Ridiculously late subs by United.
Incredible goalkeeping by the Sevilla keeper.

We actually played well and created more from open play than we have done in the last few games to be honest but at this level you need to take your chances

Normal service has resumed under ole where we are struggling to get a goal from open play.

Amazing that ole had to take the 40million rightback off for a player that flopped at crystal palace as he still offered more going forward than that waste of a 40 million fullback, just look at Sevilla's 1st goal, we cant score goals like that because we offensively inept fullback

We all know that the team is short of where we need to get to - nothing shows this more than getting to 3 semis.

We're not far off and heading in the right direction. The young team will take the pain of 3 semi final defeats and use it as motivation.

Hopefully it makes Woodward a bit more liberal with the spending. We're close but need 3 decent signings to push on.

Far more optimistic at the end of this season than any other since Ferige.

Nothing to get upset about. They are a good, experienced side and our young team battered them really.

Loads of missed chances and some naive defending from AWB was the difference
sums it up perfectly IMO. Let’s not put our petulant self-entitled hats on, this team is going places and with the right additions plenty to look forward to next season

Because look at the state of what he has available. Our worst football of the 96 minutes came in the 10 minutes after he made the first sub.
because the bench players are poor?
Thats not really the point. If he doesn't have any games changers on the bench, he can still bring on fresh legs so Pogba, Martial, Rashford and Bruno are not having to do any extra running back

Matic and TFM should have come on around 65 minutes.

You just can't miss this many chances in a European semi-final.

But if we're honest with ourselves, we only played really well in brief spurts at the start of either half. Rest of the time we were pedestrian and unimaginative, mostly. Conceded way too much territory and possession when 1-0 up.

And yeah, the subs. What was the point of the Greenwood-Ighalo sub in the 93rd minute? If you wait that long, you might as well swap Lindelöf for him or something.

Too late for the subs and our strikers are not clinicial.Besides, Sevilla always get the result in Europa competition.

At least we're losing games we've battered the chances in these days, rather than just through being sh!te.

Rashford hasn't looked right since the re-start.
Lindelof is mostly tidy but we all know with him.

Bench has way too little in the way of game changers.

Chucking James and Mata on wasn't going to do much

Yeah we played well, it wasn't shit on a stick like two years ago, just unlucky with the finishing and then the defensive errors..
This is true. It was a good watch.

Absolutely gutted. By far the better side, we should have killed the game before the hour mark. That other lot deserve nothing, cheated their way through the entire match. Lindelof, I hope that's your last game for us.

We were the better team, their keeper played a blinder and we should finish better. Give the guys a good rest and we go again!

People thinking we need to add a cb when clearly our fbs are not up for it is a joke. We desperatly need a new lb, Williams just isn't good enough, not even as a second choice.

We need a Lb. Williams is shit and Shaw is never available

Over to the board now. Without a quality RW, CDM, CB and LB (to fight with Shaw) this is going to keep happening.

Our lack of squad depth is shocking and some of the starting 11 aren't good enough.

Let's see how ambitious we are... I won't hold my breath.

The end of the longest season ever. Quite looking forward to a couple of weeks without football- don’t know about anyone else?
Clearly Ole’s not happy with our depth hence why he doesn’t make a sub until the 85th minute.
Hopefully Ed stops f***ing about and goes into the market and gets us what we need. We need an upgrade on Lindelof, Sancho and Grealish/ Van de Beek before the season starts

I think we should have won but we fell for their gameplan. Had enough chances to win 4 games.

Subs should have come on earlier though tbh we had nothing on the bench in terms of scoring goals.

Lindelof not good enough to be more than a backup and rotation player, we need another cb or for Bailly to play more but we seem to trying to protect him from injuries. We rely on 13/14 players and thats a big issue

The performance was alright but what we've said all season still came to bite us.
We lack pace and quality in CD and our full backs are whack.

We don't have options in attack. I am worried if Rashford's lacklustre continues into next season.

Depends who you blame for defensive mistakes and weak finishing. I guess it's on the players
It is on the players and its not great but it happens to every team. We largely dominated them.

Every loss doesn't mean this player and that player are frauds or that the manager isn't good enough. I just think the knee-jerk reactions on here tend to be a bit of a joke.

Thats what happens when you don't take your chances.
Yeah never thought I would ever compare us to Rangers but unfortunately we were both far too wasteful today and paid for it. Yes I admit that ours was a much heavier price but you get the point

The defence is a mess, even after the money already spent on it.

The bench is relegation quality. Investment is needed but I don't think Ole will be given it, it would appear it's Sancho and no one else (not confident we can get that done).

A club of our stature would go out now and bring in a top class CB, LB and Sancho.

better we lost to sevilla instead of having lukaku put 3 goals past us and celebrate.

ole isnt a quality manager.. and hes way out of his depth.. we have soME good form but that Is because we do have good players. no subs until 85min? even if or bench is weak.. they had 3 fresh plays when they scored and it makes a difference.

martial rashford are not strikers.. they arent good strikers and they are not good enough to lead the line for a trophy winning club. luakuku was miles ahead of what they are and ever will be.. oles biggest mistake was not treating him like he was important to our team. we wont find a better striker any time soon. as much as i love them at the moment martial should be starting out left rashford should be on the bench watching greenwood become who he we thought he was going to be and we need to grab another striker as much as we need sancho and play on the right.

we also need a new CB and another midfielder who can put in a shift defensively and pass/retain the ball

Williams was on his last legs, AWB let the man go and Lindelöf again not marking just ball watching.. This team is in the brink of being a good team but we are well and truly lacking depth.

I thought Ole did a poor job waiting so long to make changes. My god do I hate Sevilla - bunch of diving, card-waving cnuts. And I'm taking great retroactive joy in Lopetegui's Spain/World Cup humiliation - amorphous-shaped, protruding nostril-hair gimp!

Poor defending for both goals.
Rashford has been poor for weeks.

Time to improve the squad
Been saying it for weeks but kept getting shit from people.

Rashford lost his head today. You have to question what he was thinking with all those useless flicks giving the ball away. Needs to really work hard and improve in the summer otherwise if we sign Sancho he could be on the bench with lingard.

Lindelof cocked up again but my bug bear is why the f did Ole put De Gea in net again???? De gea beat at near post, yet again!!!! Why on earth wait until there is less than 10 minutes to go to start using your subs ??? Poor finishing from us but stout defending from them, tired players and long season too. Finished 3rd when most did not expect it, I'll take this loss if it means a slightly longer break before the season starts. We need success but not at all costs.

Williams is nothing special but he should never be playing in such big games as first choice, need to find a backup for Shaw.

Wasnt in the matchday thread but we were all over them, really unlucky.

There was nothing unlucky about it , poor finishing and awful defending , nothing to do with luck.

At this level to won things you need to have more quality than we have right now.
