From experience I can assure you that people tend to act more like idiots when they know that they will probably get away with it. I found the British police tend to treat drunks with far too much leniency. Which kind of explains why shit tend to hit fan when people who are used to such mentality go abroad

This is just one example but there’s a few posts with similar sentiments. Of course people should want to see evidence before assuming Maguire’s wrong doing but no one can convince me that the same logic shouldn’t be applied to all parties. Concocting stories out of thin air to prove Maguire’s innocence is just as bad as presuming his guilt.

I know somebody who had something very similar happen to them in Greece. There was a massive overreaction from the Greek police aimed at getting a public apology and a hefty fine out of them before being released with a minor charge on their record. I am certain this is what will happen with Maguire, it's how they operate over there.
They'll get him off 100%. Plus from what I'm reading here the police officers were plainclothes, like most police on islands, trying to catch drug trafficking or observe potential breaches on covid restrictions from club owners. Add to that the language barrier and his lawyer will successfully argue he didn't even know, let alone mean to, fight a cop.
Fine, written apology, suspended community service (never to be done) and on a plane back to Manchester. Betting money on it.
Who knows but I thought the allegation was that the cop punching part was at the station, not the bar.
In the initial police statement they said it happened outside the bar, but then that statement was aimed purely at maximum press coverage/$$$.
The absolute worst punishment they could give Harry would be to get Sir Alex to pick him from the airport and give him a dressing down from the godfather of football.
If I was Harry that would resonate most with me and I'd be feckin devastated to have let him down.
