Who's the best of the sub 7 forwards? (I already have Mitrovic).

Maupay - looks lively but sometimes misses games
Antonio - might go back to MF and fixtures are tough
Bamford - not prem proven at all.
Ayew - doesn't score enough
Wood - misses opening game and Burnley are quite defensive.

Currently leaning towards Maupay.

That Burnley lack of game is an extra hassle none of us needed!
I’ve gone for 2 cheap keepers who ill rotate based on fixtures
Mc Carthy (Palace A, Spurs H, Burnley A)
Ryan (Chelsea H, Newcastle A, Utd A)

I have a feeling a fresh Southampton will keep up their good form into this season . Armstrong and Walker Peters are decent cheaper options and Ings should also be up there if he stays fit.

2135th version of the team:

Mc Carthy - Ryan

TAA, VVD, Tierney - Bernardo, Ferguson

Aubameyang (V) Salah (C) Armstrong, Soucek

Lacazette, Jiminez , Antonio.

Got to pick the right Utd or City player to come in for GW2. I also really like the look of Ziyech and Werner but new signings can take ages to get going so I’ll wait and see how they do in preseason and who else Chelsea sign.

Not easy to pick one, but I have gone for Antonio and Mitrovic.
Might change my mind near the end.
It is tricky to pick based on the early fixtures and teams missing the first game.
Nothing obvious to go for.
Chelsea vs Liverpool in the second game as well makes things extra hard.

You think Armstrong will start? Or will Redmond start or both?
I think they got decent fixtures so I would like one cheap attacker from them.
Ings a bit heavy to get now sadly.

Anyone found a good midfielder at maximum 4.5? looking for someone who doesnt play defensive mid and plays regularly. The next Cantwell would be the dream, but less can do

Out of the promoted teams are there any gems that people have identified?

I just had a quick look on BBC site, the top goalscorer was Mitrovic for fulham and he is premier league proven so could be a nice punt in the beginning when teams aren't really that settled. I'd assume he will also be on penalties.

Not one W.Brom player was in the top goalscorers section which worries me.

Asking a lot for that.
I dare say someone will emerge a few weeks in, but for now the best you can get at 5m looks to be Soucek, and 4.5m is anyone's guess. I've got Stephens as a 2pointer for now.

Anyone disapointed with the price spread? I don't see many players worthy of picking that have dropped. Pepe has gone down 1.5.

Just seems like last years super midfield won't be happening. Be lucky to get 2 decent ones in there.

Pereira got some goals but was a pure assist machine. At 6m, he could be a good choice to enable some premiums.

I think Dallas from Leeds is a useful defender.

What do people think about a captain KDB everyweek for the season strategy, or just damn silly?

Cheers at 6.0 could be another Cantwell or Fleck part 2.

Just looking at the fixtures, Tottenham have a lovely run ahead of them especially with the season finish.

And the midfield even more important this year with the narrowing of the definition of forward. There's an argument to be made for 6 midfielders and 2 forwards in the squad composition.

Might treat Danny Ings as a set and forget forward. Form pending of course.

Might need to tweak the amount of wad they give if they did that though.

Lack of United and City in GW1 is an issue. Could select no players from either and then free hit them in or early wildcard.

Same problem here, not trusting Soucek with his fixtures though

considering Aurier in defence. Vinagre, Ferguson, Justin, KWP looks value and potential risers. Mitrovic got a far better fixturelist than Id wished for, so he's probably gonna rise too

With City and United having a day off I intend to build my team around other players in first game week and then use wildcard quickly.

Ryan
Aurier Robertson Walker-Peters
Soucek Salah Son Auba Ziyech
Werner Haller

bench: Branthwaite, Vinagre, Davis

However I want to end up with a squad of:

Ryan
TAA Walker-Peters Vinagre Ferguson Branthwaite
Pulisic KDB Bruno Ziyech Soucek
Werner Martial Davis

So need 6 transfers, however moving from Auba and Salah to KDB and Bruno will come with savings so I can take it slowly.

Putting together defense is amazing this year. TAA + 2x 4.5 + 2x4.0 completely doable. I am even considering getting Robertson instead of TAA as at his best they are basically same level.

With City and United out of GW1

Leno
Basham - TAA - Lamptey
St. Maximin - Willian - Ziyech - Salah(c) - Auba(v)
Antonio - Werner

Can't decide between Antonio and Haller. Both at 6.5 but Antonio might move back wide with Haller back.
Greame Potter's Brighton open team might afford Ziyech and Werner the chance to hit the ground running. Pulisic will miss GW1.
Salah and TAA hauls against Leeds
Willian starts at Arsenal and see him in a good partnership with Auba, at least against the smaller clubs. Pepe too expensive for what he brings.

Might have to take a -8points to get KDB and Bruno/Greenwood in for GW2+
Whats the status of his injury? Do we know he will miss it for sure? FPL has him as 50/50

Anyone from anywhere can play
Really? I could swear that last year when i wanted to sign up there was sentence "Only if you live in UK". Maybe it was for rewards?

Oh well, this year i will try to play it for the first time. I will have lot of questions. I apologise in advance

Why would people WC GW2?

The wild card has far more use later on.

There's no way to know how the likes of Werner and Ziyech will do until a good few games in!

@Sarni are Ferguson and Branthwaite informed choices, or random cheap picks?
Ferguson will almost certainly play and Palace are a decent defense, he may be new Wan-Bissana. Branthwaite is 50/50 as he competes with Holgate and Mina, Keane is a sure starter I think but Branthwaite could play some games and be worth a punt.

Vinagre is a must but since I can afford Aurier for week 1 as they have easier game I am taking him. He will definitely be in my team straight after though. My defense will be Robertson or TAA, Walker-Peters, Vinagre, Ferguson and Branthwaite or Ayling.

Prognosis on the injury was possible 6wks out with a hamstring pull. That covers pre season and beginning of the league. Might see him as early as GW3 as he'll need time to train for fitness.
We've not received any updates on it since it occurred.

I'm allowed to draft potential transfers in my draft league. Is it worth me calling in Sanco like 5th mid pic?

You guys think it would be difficult to make an FPL channel on youtube?

From what I've seen online most of the big guys haven't even hit 100k subs. Not saying that these guys aren't good but they are all very similar.

Do you need to be a football expert to do it? Even when it comes to stats?

I don't follow any of these channels but the more relevant question surely is how you'd differentiate yourself?

Mitchell is a better choice than Branthwaite for now apparently as Van Aanholt will take a while to return. Having two Palace full backs is a bit of an overkill though.

Lamptey will be a great cheap choice too. With Ryan in my team already it’s a bit pointless though for me and Ryan at £4.5m is by far the best choice (I do not believe in the value of having expensive goalkeeper).

To answer your first question, no. Not at all different.

Your second statement answers the question you may be meaning to ask - how difficult to set up a hugely watched channel.

Very difficult.

Not seen many people opt for Kane in their lineups?

Spurs have favourable run with good form, and not many good forwards to choose from

Son is 1.5m cheaper and an incredibly consistent FPL scorer. That's probably why. He is in my current draft.

Werner plus Son is better than Kane and 7.5m midfielder for me.

Apparently Mitchell. Still, Ferguson is the same price and nailed on to play apparently so a no brained at £4.0. Everyone else at that price point is either a reserve or at best a 50/50 choice. Plenty of good defenders to choose from at £4.5 so worth paying more but being sure they will start and rack up point. As I said, I am still not sure I will even get TAA over Robertson, Robertson had a slow start in 2019-20 but was very good in the second half of season for goals and assists. Ideally £0.5 should be getting you 20 points difference over season
