Odd we never moved for Thiago Silva, he's not exactly as slow as Maguire/Lindelof. Looks like he still has a season or 2 for a big club.

I doubt Ole would want someone like him to come in. He's trying to bring in younger, hungrier players to join the club.

EDIT: And a 2-year deal? The Caf would have been in uproar.

Whats the rolling eyes about? Do you support Utd or not?
Project? Give me a fecking break, a project at a club like United?

A: We shouldn’t be a fecking “project”. PSG, City or if Newcastle had been taken over by the Saudis could be considered a “project”

B: If that’s how the cnuts that run our club see us or have sold it to Raiola or Pogba then in my opinion is utter bollocks, they haven’t got the will, money or nouse to create a “project”. A project involves investment in the team and infrastructure, does that look like happening at United right now?

Wankers the lot of em.

Yeah he looked solid in the CL. Doing that week in week out might be more taxing given he's 36. If his wage demands arent ridiculous, its a very clever move.

Thats when foreign players etc about plans at a club. Yes I do think we have a plan, a project in the making and we are 2 odd players off from having a very very good side.
Its a crazy statement for an apparent United fan to take offence at.

There is no “project” and Raiola is a fat feck. What’s not to understand?
I’m pretty sure we do have a project. That’s just used by non native English speakers in football as a synonym for plan.

Thiago Silva still looks hungry enough to me. You need leaders and maturity too I guess.

Ideally yeah, but it's not like he's suddenly slow to a Maguire level. At least thats how it looks anyway

Of course, but it's only going to get worse and he won't be able to cover for Maguire, hell just be a similar speed. I think he's going to be a cracking signing for Chelsea though.

Silva would represent a going nowhere signing given our circumstances. He's perfectly ideal for Chelsea given what they need at the back. We need a solid centre half to start weekly.

I agree, and Chelsea got him because he is the leader that they miss in the back line. However, I think he'll be exposed in their high line and the lack of defensive shape that Chelsea have, overall.

Whether he'd be any better for us...well, I doubt he'd be worth the outlay for him (2-year contract and supposedly high wages). The fact that Chelsea are going after him indicates that they might have a buyer for one of their defenders.

You think he'll regress that much in 1-2 seasons from a physicality perspective? I don't know. For free, I'd prefer to see him come to us than a direct rival.

Gonna guess that Zouma will partner Silva and with Reece James on his side of the pitch plus a fit Kante in front of him, I think we should have enough legs to protect his lack of pace.

Perfect 1 season rental essentially.

I wonder what this'll mean for Rudiger.

Also, will Thiago Silva be their #1 starter, or will he be there as a squad player to guide the team and play in key matches?

EDIT: Journalists are reporting a 2-year contract, so maybe it could be him being a regular in his first season and then taking a step back in his 2nd season.

“Apparent” United fan? Because I don’t think a club of Uniteds size and stature within the game should be viewed as a project? Are you fecking high?

I think he’s been good, but imo he was at fault for the goal today.

Yeah, could be any of our CB's playing with him. I have no idea.

And I don't think you bring in a 36 year old CB to be a squad player. I think he goes straight in as first choice.

I think it'll ultimately depend on how much money they give him. If it's significant enough, it means that they value him and want a significant contribution from him, which could equate to being their starting defender.

I don't know how they keep that squad happy but I am jealous that they are getting their business done
Theyl probably finish with :

Thiago Silva
Chilwell
Werner
Ziyech
Havertz

Pretty fecking amazing to be fair to them. A mixture of very good to top class players, who will each add a different dimension to the game.

So he name checks Fiorentina and yet both tweets randomly say he's close to signing with Chelsea?
There may have been false reports about him agreeing to join Fiorentina when there's nothing in them. Romano & di Marzio overall have only reported interest from Fiorentina; neither of them ever reported on any supposed agreement.
