Done well to get to that score after the start they made.

Credit to the Aussie's 157-7 was better than I thought they'd get after 20 overs, especially with the start they had.

Maybe time to drop Bairstow in next game to give him a shock and give Banton a try at opening

Does Malan have an IPL gig?
Someone should sign him up pronto.

Also why doesn’t Morgan get an IPL captaincy slot?

Good for Ali to also get a few decent knocks with the bat to boost his confidence

England giving Aussies a chance tomorrow. Buttler going home for personal reasons.

Does that mean he’s likely to miss the one day series?
He'll be back for the first ODI on Friday. I didn't realise he hasn't been able to see his family for 10 weeks so and then he is also off to Dubai not long after the ODI series as well for the IPL.

Bairstow's form has been wank for a while, hopefully gets a score today but this has been a real fight.

Looks like he's had a few pies over lockdown too.

Weaker England batting line up,
or hard wicket to score big,
or very good Aussie bowling?

Not sure I agree with Atherton about that being a shadow, or how the third umpire can be sure of that based on looking at the best angle once.

Feel sorry for Ali as captain as his batting unit didn’t fire at all. was basically 2nd team batting unit given that Roy, Buttler, Morgan and Stokes all missing.

without even a competitive target, it’s impossible to build any scoreboard pressure to force Australia mistakes.

The results of the last two matches will be keeping the pressure on. Australia still big favourites with Smith there though.
