You guys definitely just jinxed that.
Billings did his job superbly to get the innings back on track.
Woakes and TCurran now have to justify their selections as all rounders.
Hoping Bairstow can stay in til final overs.

What a ball from Cummins, credit where it's due for that one.
Great innings from Bairstow.

Amazing bowling to bamboozle a guy who has been slapping the ball around for 40 overs
Probably just as well you edited that before I was able to make a joke about him slapping balls around

From being 0-2 to getting over 300 is one of the best batting efforts I've seen in a long time.

Amazing fightback from England really. To get 300 after being 0-2 after two balls is a top effort.

302 for 7 is an excellent score at the end considering the start we had. Well done to Woakes and Rashid at the death.
Bowlers do you duty lads.

Amazing how much our lower order bail us out of the shit too, apparently our bowlers are better batters than some of our batters

302-7

win or lose this match and series, England really proving why they are world champions. To recover from a horrific start to post such a score is nothing short of miraculous. Woakes gets special credit for a fantastic knock at the end.

Makes such a difference for England you feel like they can recover from any situation because even the bowlers can get some runs.

0-2 and 31-2 is roughly about the same thing in the context of chasing 300.

Australia already in massive trouble with Rashid and Wood and plenty of Archer and Woakes to come.

I was thinking the same. 0-2 is eye-catchingly terrible but the Aussies are under similar strain now, possibly worse if you factor in the scoreboard pressure as you say.

Really enjoy watching Wood. When he is storming in, his run up and style looks identical to a young Waqar Younis.

I know it won’t happen but would be amazing if Younis and Wood got together for some coaching.

Ok. Can forgive Root for the golden duck for that Warner wicket. Priceless.

brilliant captaincy from Morgan yet again. He can bowl Root for 4 or 5 overs now

I reckon that’s the game.

I take back whatever I said recently about Root not being a good enough bowler to justify his batting not being on top form
