I refuse to believe our other transfer business is on hold cause of Sancho.
No its not. That would be ridiculous. Im sure we have alternative targets but how far can you progress a transfer with an alternate while you still feel that Sancho is a possibility. I believe that's what they are referring to rather than 'doing nothing else' as our doom merchants fans would love to believe.

Either pay up now or brief we are out, and shore-up other needs, and leave some money to go back next summer. If Dortmund break and come back to us with a better price in early October than we've won, otherwise we've just wasted a bunch of time. Love the VdB purchase, but we need to either get this over the line, or make some investment elsewhere using maybe 50% of what we had allocated for Sancho.

What I got from his post is Dortmund wins if they get 120mil this summer, or if Sancho stays. Utd loses either way.
We lose if we pay up for Sancho  No matter what we pay he .A) Will be worth every penny and B)if we sold him in years to come we would still make us a profit. Not that I want B to happen. Signing him will get us closer to getting back on top. That is a win.

He's got a tendency of playing safe and state the obvious. Take this rumour as an example. If United meet Dortmund's price we get him else we don't. No shit genius. Whenever he goes beyond the obvious he's prone of making mistakes. For example he said that Dortmund were open on us paying the fee in installments paid in 2 years. It doesn't look to be the case. He also insisted that Regulon was coming to Manchester United even after Ornstein broke the news that he was going to Spurs. Then he back paddled furiously.

I get it, even tier 1 journalists can make mistakes. However the way guys like Mark Goldbridge and Stephen Hawson treats him is beyond ridiculous, the former more then the latter. I bet that if Ole told Mark that we won't sign Sancho, he'll still ask Romano whether its true or not.

Bottomline imo, we either get Sancho and salvage the transfer window...or we get no one and watch us struggle once we get injuries. Cuz we are not signing anyone else. If we don't get anyone else other than VdB it would be a disastrous window.

What a daft comment by him.
There have been many in this saga. I think it's clear Dortmund are holding the aces as we clearly want the player and will have to pay top dollar when finances are being squeezed. Despite everything that's been said I think Dortmund will sell if the price is right, but whether we'll stump up in a payment structure that suits them is another matter. Silly comments like that are a waste of time.

Best thing that can happen to us in the Sancho deal is happening.....

Tomorrow, Klopp with his fecking white teeth and dumbass hat stands next to Thiago, then in the afternoon, Mourinho welcomes Bale on the golf course as they both look for a good payday....

We look like proper fecking plonkers, all hell rains down on our Woody, as he pulls his finger out and come sunday match day - Sancho watches the game from the stands wearing his shiny new no.7 jersey.

You'll thank me later.
Might not be enough, might need an absolutely dire performance against Palace in which we hopefully scrape by like spurs today

What if one of MMM gets injured in first game?! Of course no one wishes for that, but that’s what it might require to get this over the line.

I just find it hard to believe we can't afford to pay up. I'm VERY interested in seeing our quarterly report in the next few weeks to see how much Covid impacted our finances. If it's reflected then fair enough. If not, SERIOUS questions need to be asked on the lack of adequate investment.

It is indeed an easy game to play from Romano, as you say he just covers all bases.
Don't get me started on Goldbr*dge, decided the person does not exist for all intents and purposes.

Glad to hear a few others notice the obvious with this fella.

We took out £140M at start of summer from our cash reserves but we do not have money for Sancho, but we buy DvB in a position wich isnt our most critical are to strengthen? Its just fevking wierd! But its the fecking Glazers what should we expect?

Seeing how much deadwood Real are dropping. How crazy would it ne of they suddenly came in for Sancho at the end of window and bought him after Ed braindead and Matt fudge have haggled the whole window.
This is a possibility. Another post reckoned that with all their sales and getting Bale off their books will save Real €120M this year.
What is the asking price that BVB are looking for Sancho again?

What was the expiry on his last contract? I didn't realise he signed a new one just last month. If he really wanted to leave this summer I dont think he would have signed a new one.

Yeah it’s odd, if Sancho was available for 68 million they’d still do buy him and end up spending 108 million. I’d imagine if we had only gotten Sancho this window most fans would be happy enough even Ole would have been.

He didn’t. When he got a raise in his contract for last season his contract was also extended for another year. He probably expected a club to pay Dortmund’s asking price and that be that.

Ah ok, the article I was reading had a misleading headline.

Not sure how that makes him unreliable in any way?

Just seen that James Cooper of Sky did an interview with The United Stand
So we now have youtube journo's who interview TV journo's who get titbits from agents who try to second guess the actual decision makers.

Just shows how absurd and crazy this transfer circus has become! Ill still watch

He’s literally not changed his story throughout

Personal terms aren’t a problem.

They want 120. We don’t want to pay that much.

They couldn't even afford Van De Beek.

They don't have the money.

No he's got some ground breaking news. If we agree to pay what Dortmund want then we get him. If not then we don't. You can use that line of thinking for Sarr, Messi and even the UK-EU trade deal or North Korea-South Korea peace talks. If United/UK.South Korea gives the player's club/EU/North Korea what they want then they can get the player/a deal. If not, well, no. Next week he will probably talk about what happens if you fall into a lake. He'll impress Goldbridge by saying that if that had to happen to him then he'll get wet.

same mate. I thought I was alone on this one
I get more stick than either of you for it. I know he's full of shit. His worshipers on here can't see the wood for the trees though.

He's not got much right when it comes to the PL. He just joins in for the tap ins and tweets here we go like he's got inside info. Any of us could do that ffs. Ornstein has shown him up twice in last few weeks and still his sheep can't see it.

Sky Sports being briefed to try and deflect our blame about how it's irresponsible to spend so much on one player in this window and that the board won't be influenced by our frustration. Get fecked. They actually think we are idiots. If it's irresponsible to spend so much on one player, why the feck have you wasted two years pursuing him now. Some very good players have moved around this market and we've missed out on all of them, wasting time on a player we have no intention of paying the money for. Instead they can turn around and blame the lack of transfers on pursuing Sancho all summer. It's the Fred window all over again, they don't wanna invest when they think we are stable in the top 4.

This shit is so fecking frustrating.
