But according to the "experts" over here he s shite. I m assuming that Bielsa can recognize a good from a "shite" player, no?
He’s clearly not shit.. but his strength is his speed. If a team nullifies that by sitting deep, then he becomes a passenger

I would much prefer this to Koulibaly given the prices being quoted and the age differences.
+ Koulibaly's overpriced and possibly in decline already
- this means spending big on potential than actual quality again and that didn't work out with Nastasic, Mangala or Stones

and given that teams are likely to try and attack Leeds rather than sit back like they do against United, he could expose the space in behind.

Wonder if this is what Giggs Based recommendations on, the fact that he did well on the break for Wales as teams attack them from the get go?

Players may develop over time. Giggsy himself started off as a speedy winger (with dribbling skills). Then when he matured as a player, and he lost a bit of speed due to his hamstrin injuries,he became more like a playmaker in a way with eye for a pass.
A case in point was the pass to Michael Owen s injury time winner vs Man City (4-3)

Yes but you don’t develop Giggs’ like dribbling skills, you either have that or you don’t. James is a bit of a kick and run type winger and nothing I’ve seen, I’m a total armchair dimwit though, suggests he has the intelligence to change his game like Giggs did.
It’s incredible how he and Paul Scholes changed their game as they aged but still excelled.

I know all about his reputation as a genius and coaches like Pep citing him as inspiration, doesn't make his opinion gospel.
So we should prefer that of a teenager FIFA 20 addict locked in a basement over Bielsa's?

We're setting quite the standard if "good enough for Leeds" has become our criteria for judging squad players. Bielsa may have a fantastic eye for players but he's shopping for a club at a completely different level.

Not really what I said, just that the Leeds manager rating James means nothing. They don't have the same goals as we do and we shouldn't measure our players by their standard.

Selling James already while you keep Mata, Lingard, Pereira, Rojo or Jones would be a bit ridiculous. Thought you'd be more aggressive in moving deadwood and just let them go for free like so many other clubs did this summer.

Or else Bielsa is seeing a talent even if with its limitations and is looking forward to develop it further
On the other hand our self entitled fanbase is locked in FIFA 20 mode and don t want to waste their "precious" time in developing a young player. They re focused exclusively on short term gains

Because those bunch has no buyers, they are useless. James still has value.

No I m comparing the opinion of one of the game s top coaches to that of some random caftards over here
Irrelevant, different clubs on completely different levels, do you think Bielsa would want him here at united if he is our manager?

Didn’t Emi Martinez just go for 20m? Surely Sergio worth at least half that?
Romero is worth more than Martinez imo, being the better keeper. If we sell him for peanuts, we are just as fecking clueless as we though all along.

Yeah, let's make decisions on our squad based on the opinion of a coach who's only notable trophies are in the championship and Argentina.
You don't know what you are talking about stop embarrassing yourself.

Very disturbing isn't ? Just let these wasters leave on a free and lets see if anyone actually employs them.

People seem obsessed with James who only cost United 15 million. He is the least of our worries.

Lindelof , Shaw, Mctominay, Pogba and Maguire. There lies our problem.

Apparently we are asking 8million for him and Valencia offered 6m.

No it wouldn't. We can still recoup money for James and he is clearly not good enough for us so we should do it.

Selling clubs wait till last 2 weeks to extract as much as money as possible and buying clubs wait till end to reduce price as much as possible. It has always been this way and is even more understandable during COVID times.
Our opening fixtures were fairly easy so there wasn't any urgency because of that.
Except every other club have done their transfer business already and we lost our first game of the season.

I agree. Time to be ruthless. Get rid of anyone not cutting it. James, Lingard, Jones would be a great start for me.

I think every United fan was expecting the same. It’s about time they write off their investment for some of these players. Let them move on and get our squad ready. Jones and Rojo in particular this season.

Don't you see this as contradictory, in any way?
Selling clubs are hoping the buyer becoming desperate and caves, for example United lose the next two matches and just cave in to Dortmund demands or there is a bidding war near the end.
Buying clubs are hoping that no one bites on the price selling clubs has set for a player and they can shave several million off near the end when the seller doesn't have a choice on keeping hold of an unhappy player.

Does Dan James offer anything for us upfront? If 20-25m can bridge the gap between what we can offer for say Sancho and what Dortmund want, I'd make the deal.
That would be a great price. Sell James, promote a youngster and buy Sancho.

There is still going to be a lot of activity in the transfer market in the upcoming weeks. Getting beaten by Crystal Palace at home is not due to no new signings, its just bad management.

Was it him or someone else who said that they don't care about signings, they work with whatever they have?
It was him and he will probably get a tune out of James since he can get one out of Bamford
